Effect of pulse slippage on resonant third harmonic generation of a short pulse laser in electron-hole plasma in the presence of wiggler magnetic field has been *** group velocity mismatch of the third harmonic pulse and the fundamental pulse is significant in electron hole *** the third harmonic pulse has higher group velocity than that of fundamental pulse,therefore,it moves faster than the fundamental *** gets slipped out of the domain of fundamental pulse and its amplitude *** matching condition is satisfied by applying wiggler magnetic field,which provides additional angular momentum to the third harmonic photon to make the process *** in the efficiency of third harmonic generation of an intense short pulse laser in electron-hole plasma embedded with a magnetic wiggler is seen.

More than 170 years after causing the potato famine in Ireland,late blight is still considered one of the most devastating crop *** potato breeding efforts depend on natural sources of resistance to protect crops from the rapidly evolving late blight pathogen,Phytophthora *** have identified and mapped a novel broad-spectrum disease resistance gene effective against *** from the wild,diploid potato species Solanum *** resistance gene enrichment sequencing(dRenSeq)was used to confirm the uniqueness of the identified *** and GenSeq-based mapping of the resistance,referred to as Rpi-blb4,alongside recombinant screening,positioned the locus responsible for the resistance to potato chromosome *** interval spans approximately 2.3 Mb and corresponds to the DM reference genome positions of 11.25 and 13.56 Mb.

Genetically Modified Crops (GMCs) and Climate Change (CC) are the two most contentious ecological issues the world faces today. Application of transgenics in agriculture is most debated because of its direct and indirect implications. The advertized benefits in the backdrop of the potentially harmful effects on health and environment make this an issue of greater concern. On the other hand, Climate Change is a problem of enormous scale and its after-effects even more grave. The impact of climate change on agriculture, though well researched, is still very uncertain. Further, the introduction and global embrace of a technology with unverified credentials may prove to be an ill-conceived and ill-timed act. The future of GMC technology in India will be both challenging as well as exciting. Therefore any decision on this front should be taken with scientific rigor and logic. Our aim is to explore this complex inter-relationship and provide impetus for further research.

Potato is the thirdmost important food crop in *** pathogens threaten sustainable crop production but can be controlled,in many cases,through the deployment of disease resistance genes belonging to the family of nucleotide-binding,leucine-rich-repeat(NLR)*** identify effective disease resistance genes in established varieties,we have successfully established SMRT-AgRenSeq in tetraploid potatoes and have further enhanced the methodology by including dRenSeq in an approach that we term *** inclusion of dRenSeq enables the filtering of candidates after the association analysis by establishing a presence/absence matrix across resistant and susceptible varieties that is translated into an F1 *** a SMRT-RenSeq-based sequence representation of the NLRome from the cultivar Innovator,SMRT-AgRenSeq-d analyses reliably identified the late blight resistance benchmark genes Rpi-R1,Rpi-R2-like,Rpi-R3a,and Rpi-R3b in a panel of 117 varieties with variable phenotype *** benchmark genes were identified with an F1 score of 1,which indicates absolute linkage in the *** method also identified nine strong candidates for Gpa5 that controls the potato cyst nematode(PCN)species Globodera pallida(pathotypes Pa2/3).Assuming that NLRs are involved in controlling many types of resistances,SMRT-AgRenSeq-d can readily be applied to diverse crops and pathogen systems.

This study was undertaken to investigate the linkage between vascular oxidative stress and impaired acetylcholine (Ach)-induced relaxation of arterial vessels in rats breathing air enriched in carbon monoxide (CO)。Rats were housed in a chamber and allowed to breath normal air or air enriched in CO (100 ppm) for 1 hour。Immediately thereafter the animals were anesthetized and the descending thoracic aorta (TA) was obtained for assessment of superoxide anion levels and relaxing responsiveness to Ach (10-9-10-4 mol/L)。Rings of TA were incubated in Krebs buffer containing lucigenin (5 lamol/L) and the development of Tiron (10 mmol/L)-inhibitable chemiluminescence was taken as an indicator of superoxide levels。The level of superoxide (CPM/mg dry tissue) in the TA of rats breathing fresh air (1785±182) was lower (P<0.05) than that in the TA of rats breathing CO-enriched air (2942±347)。The CO-induced increase of superoxide levels was prevented (P<0.05) by inclusion into the Krebs buffer of the xanthine oxidase inhibitor aUopurinol (100μmol/L), the NADPH oxidase assembly inhibitor apocynin (100μmol/L), or the glutathione peroxidase mimetic ebselen (10μmol/L)。Relaxing responsiveness to Ach were studied in phenylephrine-preconstricted rings of TA, bathed in oxygenated Krebs buffer and mounted on a wire-myograph。Ach elicited concentration-dependent reduction of isometric tension in TA rings taken from air-breathing rats (EC50: 0.29±0.04μmol/L; Rmax: 99.0±0.7% relaxation)。The concentration-response to Ach in TA rings of rats breating CO enriched air was shifted to the right, with attendant increase and decrease (P<0.05) of EC50 (1.85±0.44μmol/L) and Rmax (38.6±4.4% relaxation) values which indicate severe hyporesponsiveness to the relaxing agonist。Importantly, all indices of relaxing responsiveness to Ach in TA rings of rats breathing CO enriched air were returned to normal by inclusion into the bathing buffer of allopurinol (100μmol/L), apocynin (100μmol/L), or ebselen (10μmol/
