Wetlands are important natural resources due to their numerous ecological ***,identifying their locations and extents is *** stability,repeatability,cost-effectiveness,multi-scale coverage,and proper spatial resolution imagery of satellites provide a valuable opportunity for their use in various large-scale applications,such as provincial wetland *** do so,it is required to(1)process and classify big geo data(i.e.a large amount of satellite datasets)in a time-and computationally-efficient approach and(2)collect a large amount of field *** this study,Google earth engine(Gee)and machine learning algorithms were utilized to process thousands of remote sensing images and produce provincial wetland inventory maps of the three Canadian provinces of Manitoba,Quebec,and Newfoundland and Labrador(NL).Additionally,using Gee,a generalized supervised classification method is proposed to produce a regional wetland map from a large area(e.g.,a province)when lacking field *** fact,using the field data from only Manitoba and assuming that all wetlands in Canada have similar characteristics,the wetland maps were generated for the other two *** overall classification accuracies for Manitoba,Quebec,and NL were 84%,78%,and 82%,respectively,indicating the high potential of the proposed method for aiding provincial wetland inventory systems.

Axillary Vessels and Brachial Plexus Traumas in Abidjan: Lesional Aspects and Surgical Difficulties

Introduction-Objectives: Through the presentation of epidemiological, anatomo-clinical and surgical aspects, we report our experience in the management of traumatic axillary lesions. Materials and Methods: A descriptive retrospective study was based on the medical records of patients who suffered vascular axillary and/or brachial plexus trauma and who underwent surgical repair at the Abidjan Cardiology Institute from January 2008 to June 2022. epidemiological, anatomo-clinical and surgical data were studied. Results: Thirty-four medical files belonging to 33 men and one woman, aged 32 on average, were collected. The circumstances of occurrence were dominated by the stab wound (n = 22). The combinations of injuries were as follows: associated involvement of the axillary artery and vein (n = 4);isolated involvement of axillary artery (n = 3);isolated involvement of the axillary vein (n = 2);associated involvement of the axillary artery and brachial plexus (n = 17);associated involvement of the axillary artery and vein and brachial plexus (n = 08). Anatomic lesions included acute arterial lesions (n = 29) and arteriovenous fistula (n = 1) and false aneurysms (n = 4). All patients were operated on under general anesthesia;vascular repair included direct suturing (n = 16), arterial and venous bypass using a long saphenous graft (n = 9), prosthetic arterial bypass (n = 5) and prosthetic flattening-graft (n = 4). Brachial plexus surgery consisted of an end-to-end anastomosis of each transected bundle in all cases (n = 25). The medium-term postoperative course was marked by success without functional sequelae in 88.24% of cases (n = 30) and by the persistence of distal paralysis of the thoracic limb after 6 months in 05.88% (n = 2) of all patients, i.e., 8% of patients who presented with brachial plexus injury. Hyperthermia for Breast Cancer Treatment Using Slotted Circular Patch Antenna

The primary intent of this paper is to investigate the potential of using a slotted circular patch antenna at 2.45 GHz for breast tumor hyperthermia treatment. A cancer treatment model consisting of a microstrip patch antenna and breast phantom comprising tumor is designed and simulated in CST Studio Suite 2018. The radiation properties of the proposed antenna attain 3 dB beam width of 74.1°and 70.5°for the e-Plane and the H-plane, respectively. The breast phantom is exposed to the designed antenna radiation for 10 minutes, leading to raise the breast phantom temperature by 8.5°C and 11.4°C once the antenna pumped power is 1.5 and 2 watt, respectively. By considering 10 minutes as an exposure time, the breast temperature as a function of the applied antenna power is studied and compared with previous published results.

Improvement of Cashew Apple Juice (Anacardium occidentaleL.) by Association with Passion Fruit Juice (Passiflora edulis)

Despite many advantages, the many technologies studied to eliminate astringency from cashew apple juice are not all accessible and not adopted by processors due to the lack of financial means to access these sophisticated technologies. Thus, the formulation of mixed juice based on cashew apple juice and passion fruit juice has proved to be a way of adding value to the cashew apple, a co-product of the production of the nut. After the formulation of the mixed juice in different proportions and the sensory evaluation, it appears that the juice of formulation E is more appreciated by the tasters. Indeed, this juice has preferred sensory characteristics in terms of color (6.90), flavor (5.47), odor (6.42), settling (6.28) and overall acceptance (6.53). These characteristics are similar to those of passion fruit juice in terms of color, odor, and overall acceptance, where the latter obtained scores of 6.94, 7.17 and 6.00 respectively;and also, to those of cashew apple juice in terms of flavor and decanting, where the latter obtained scores of 5.19 and 6.14 respectively. Therefore, the addition of passion fruit juice to cashew apple juice results in a new product that is more appreciated when mixed with proportions of 90 mL of passion fruit juice and 10 mL of cashew apple juice. For example, passion fruit juice, due to its color, flavor, and odor, has helped ree="font-family:Verdana;">duce the pronounced astringency of raw cashew apple juice. Ultimately, formulation e is recommended to improve the organoleptic value of cashew apple juice.

Vine cutting is an effective solution to solve the problem of seed availability in yam cultivation. This study was conducted to improve the recovery and rooting rate of vine cuttings of Dioscorea rotundata. Two-node cuttings from five (5)-month-old hybrid plants were grown in liquid media consisting of phytohormones (AIA3 and GA3) and liquid fertilizer (NPK 8-8-8) at different concentrations. Observations were made weekly from the 21st day after transplanting and focused on the survival rate of the cuttings, the number of roots emitted and the number of minitubers initiated. The results obtained showed a significant effect of the different growing media on the survival rate, rooting and production of minitubers. The best survival rates were obtained for cuttings grown in NPK (8-8-8) at 0.25% (100%) and AIA3 at 25 ppm (93.3%). The highest averages root number was recorded with growing media containing 0.25% NPK 8-8-8 (20.3) and 25 ppm AIA3 (17.7). Growing media with 0.25% NPK (8-8-8) and 25 ppm AIA3 provided the highest average numbers of minitubers initiated, respectively 5 and 4.6. Growing medium containing 0.25% NPK 8-8-8 has been identified as the one that allows better roots emission and minitubers production by yam vines cuttings.

The hepatoprotective activity of the ethanol extract of Astragalus kahiricus(Fabaceae) roots against ethanol-induced liver apoptosis was evaluated and it showed very promising hepatoprotective actions through different *** extract counteracted the ethanol-induced liver enzymes leakage and glutathione *** addition,it demonstrated anti-apoptotic effects against caspase-3 activation and DNA fragmentation that were confirmed by liver histopathological ***,the phytochemical study of this extract led to the isolation of four cycloartane-type triterpenes identified as astrasieversianin II(1),astramembrannin II(2),astrasieversianin XIV(3),and cycloastragenol(4).The structures of these isolates were established by HReSI-MS and 1D and 2D NMR *** antimicrobial,antimalarial,and cytotoxic activities of the isolates were further evaluated,but none of them showed any activity.

Assessment of Damage, Infestation Level and Susceptibility of Mango Cultivars to the Fruit Flies Infestation in Shendi Area, Sudan

Fruit flies are serious pests of Mango in Sudan; they cause substantial damage to Mango production, both qualitatively and quantitatively. This study is an effort to establish information about the pest and, to test the susceptibility of some Mango cultivars (Baladi, Kitchener, Shendi, Alphons, Abu Samaka and Bit abusamaka) to the pest infestation. A survey was carried out at Shendi area, River Nile State, during the period of May 2007 to July 2008, using a home made trap resemble lynfield traps with attractants (Methyl eugenol, Trimedlure, cue lure and Nu lure) to identify the fruit flies species found in the area and to study the seasonal abundance of the pest species and to determine the infestation percentage of different Mango cultivars. Results indicated that the fruit fly Bactrocera invadens is present all year-round in the study area, with population peak July to September. The study showed that Guava ( Psedium guajava ) represents the best alternative host for the pest. Abu samaka and Bit Abusa amaka mango cultivars were the most susceptible, with 100% infestation, followed by Shendi 70%, Kitchener 54%., Alphons and Baladi (30%, 28%, respectively) were the least susceptible. Also results revealed that females of both species Ceratitis cosyra and Bactrocera invadens out numbered males 4-5 times.

Factors Associated with the Unsuppressed Viral Load of Children on Antiretroviral Therapy Followed Up in the GbêkêRegion (Côte d’Ivoire)

Introduction: Unsuppressed viral load (VL) in immunocompromised children on antiretroviral therapy (ART) increases the risk of child morbidity and death. The aim of the study was to identify factors associated with unsuppressed viral load in children on ART for the improvement of prognosis. Patients and Methods: this is a retrospective, descriptive and analytical study carried out from July 2015 to December 2019 in the 28 pediatric HIV/AIDS treatment centers supervised by the NGO IRAA in the region of Gbêkê. It Included children from 0 to 15 years who were HIV positive, on ART for at least 6 months with at least one viral load. The variables studied were socio-demographic, diagnostic and evolutionary. Data analysis was descriptive and analytical with a significance level of p Results: out of 329 children included, 118 (62 boys, 53 girls) had a non-suppressed VL, i.e. a prevalence of 36%. The mean age at diagnosis was 61 months. The mother was a small trader (36.4%), illiterate (45.8%). 为快速、无损地监测水稻叶片氮素营养状况,开展了基于高光谱成像技术的抽穗期寒地水稻叶片氮素预测模型的研究。以不同施氮水平的寒地水稻叶片为研究对象,采用连续投影算法(successive projections algorithm,SPA)和分段主成分分析(segmented principal components analysis,SPCA)方法选择水稻叶片的高光谱特征波段,SPCA方法降维后结合相关分析(correlation analysis,CA)构建特征光谱参量,并建立基于全波段高光谱数据、SPA特征波段及SPCA特征光谱参量的多种回归分析模型且对模型进行检验和筛选。研究结果表明:在校正集决定系数RC2上,基于多元逐步回归分析(multiple stepwise regression analysis,MSRA)的全波段模型较好,RC2=0.9 6 4,校正集均方根误差RMSeC=0.083;RP2为0.961,RMSeP为0.050。该研究结果为快速检测水稻叶片氮素含量及水稻生长期间精确施肥管理提供了技术支撑和理论依据。
