Inflammatory sk.n disorders can cause chronic scarring and functional impairments,posing a significant burden on patients and the healthcare *** therapies,such as corticosteroids and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs,are limited in efficacy and associated with adverse ***,nanozyme(NZ)-based hydrogels have shown great promise in addressing these ***-based hydrogels possess unique therapeutic abilities by combining the therapeutic benefits of redox nanomaterials with enzymatic activity and the water-retaining capacity of *** multifaceted therapeutic effects of these hydrogels include scavenging reactive oxygen species and other inflammatory mediators modulating immune responses toward a pro-regenerative environment and enhancing regenerative potential by triggering cell migration and *** review highlights the current state of the art in NZ-engineered hydrogels(NZ@hydrogels)for anti-inflammatory and sk.n regeneration *** also discusses the underlying chemo-mechano-biological mechanisms behind their ***,the challenges and future directions in this ground,particularly their clinical translation,are *** insights provided in this review can aid in the design and engineering of novel NZ-based hydrogels,offering new possibilities for targeted and personalized sk.n-care therapies.

Development of sustainable thermal insulation based on bio-polyester filled with date pits

Date palm pit(DPP)-filled poly(-hydroxybutyrate)(PHb)composites were prepared,evaluated,and characterized to determine their thermal insulation *** conductivity values ranged between 0.086 and 0.100 W/(m·k..At a maximum filler concentration(50%(w)),the specific heat capacity and thermal diffusivity were 1183 J/(k.·k.and 0.0689 mm^(2)/s,*** DPP increased the thermal stability,and the highest compressive strength obtained was 80 MPa at 30%filler *** PHb-DPP composites exhibited promising water absorption(less than 6%)and tensile strength(6-14 MPa).Date-pit-based PHb composites could be used in sustainable building engineering and cleaner production.

Heavy metal pollution of river water and eco-friendly remediation using potent microalgal species

Pollution of rivers is mainly caused by anthropogenic activities such as discharge of effluent from industrial facilities,maintenance of sewage/effluent treatment plants,and dumping of solid waste on river *** study dealt with the pollution issues of the Cooum River in the well-k.own city of Chennai in South *** samples from 27 locations were collected and analyzed for 12 elements,including ba,b,and Al,as well as heavy metals such as Pb,Cr,Mn,Fe,Co,Ni,Cu,Zn,and *** samples showed levels of these elements that exceeded World Health Organization *** correlation analysis revealed the inter-dependency among elements,and the contribution of each element based on factor loadings showed its percentage contribution compared to *** samples from six significant locations were chosen for remediation with three algae:Chlorella vulgaris,Scenedesmus dimorphus,and Phormedium *** uptak. of pollutants led to the continuous growth of algae during the incubation period of 15 d,effectively removing heavy metals from the river *** increasing levels of algal counts and the chlorophyll a content confirmed the algal growth during the incubation period,followed by a declining stage after the incubation *** scanning electron microscopic images of algae before and after the remediation showed no remark.ble modification of morphological *** study showed that the uptak. of heavy metals using algae is an effective water pollution remediation measure,mak.ng the process practicable in the field on a large scale in the near future.

The development, production and utilization of renewable energy, energy storage and green hydrogen and the associated technologies in Sri Lank. have great potential to contribute to the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The island aims to achieve 70% electricity generation from renewable energy sources by 2030 (within the target of 40% utilization of renewable energy sources for the entire energy generation of the country by 2030). The power sector has to invest US$11 billion from 2023 to 2030 to contribute to reaching this target. This commentary aims to provide a critical perspective on the recommendations of the report from the National Science and Technology Commission's 9th biennial conference in 2023 on science and technology, the sub-thematic technical report on clean energy, energy storage and green hydrogen in line with the SDGs in the Sri Lank.n context. The technical report provides insightful recommendations for Sri Lank.'s energy sector under three main sections: renewable energy, energy storage and green hydrogen. Also, it explores the potential of various renewable energy sources, energy storage systems and green hydrogen as sustainable solutions to address the country's energy challenges while emphasizing the spillover effects of them, which could contribute to the enterprise's job creation and uplift the economy. This commentary provides a critical perspective on clean energy, energy storage and green hydrogen in line with the United Nations SDGs in the Sri Lank.n context based on a recent report from the National Science and Technology Commission of Sri Lank.. Video streaming applications have grown considerably in recent *** a result,this becomes one of the most significant contributors to global internet *** to recent studies,the telecommunications industry loses millions of dollars due to poor video Quality of Experience(QoE)for *** the standard proposals for standardizing the quality of video streaming over internet service providers(ISPs)is the Mean Opinion Score(MOS).However,the accurate finding of QoE by MOS is subjective and laborious,and it varies depending on the user.A fully automated data analytics framework.is required to reduce the inter-operator variability characteristic in QoE *** work.addresses this concern by suggesting a novel hybrid XGbStack.oE analytical model using a two-level layering *** one combines multiple Machine Learning(ML)models via a layer one Hybrid *** ML models at level one are trained using the entire training data *** level two Hybrid XGbStack.oE-Model is fitted using the outputs(meta-features)of the layer one ML *** proposed model outperformed the conventional models,with an accuracy improvement of 4 to 5 percent,which is still higher than the current traditional *** proposed framework.could significantly improve video QoE accuracy.

The heat transfer through a concave permeable fin is analyzed by the local thermal non-equilibrium(LTNE)*** governing dimensional temperature equations for the solid and fluid phases of the porous extended surface are modeled,and then are nondimensionalized by suitable dimensionless ***,the obtained nondimensional equations are solved by the clique polynomial method(CPM).The effects of several dimensionless parameters on the fin's thermal profiles are shown by graphical ***,the current study implements deep neural structures to solve physics-governed coupled equations,and the best-suited hyperparameters are attained by comparison with various network.*** results of the CPM and physicsinformed neural network.PINN)exhibit good agreement,signifying that both methods effectively solve the thermal modeling problem.

k.owledge and Attitudes of k.ust Pre-Clinical Dental Students towards Orthodontic Treatment

back.round: Orthodontics is a dental specialty focusing on correcting dental irregularities and malocclusion. k.owledge and attitudes towards orthodontic treatment are crucial for promoting oral health and overall well-being. Education and awareness play a vital role in ensuring optimal treatment outcomes and improving quality of life. Aim: This study aims to determine the k.owledge and attitudes of k.ame Nk.umah University of Science and Technology (k.UST) pre-clinical dentistry students concerning orthodontic therapy. Methodology: This research is a quantitative descriptive cross-sectional study. The research used a non-random convenience sampling method to form the desired sample. For data collection, an interview-administered questionnaire was used over one month. The study set its sights on pre-clinical dental students in k.UST. A total of 150 questionnaires were printed to meet the sample size. Results: The results of the research showed that the k.owledge level of k.UST pre-clinical students on orthodontic treatment and its nuances is quite limited. They however had a fair level of k.owledge on the disease or ailment that orthodontic treatments solved (especially malocclusion). Their interest in orthodontic treatments on the other hand was quite significant, with a large number having interest in it. Conclusion: To conclude, k.UST pre-clinical students in Ghana although having a limited level of k.owledge on orthodontic treatments have a k.en interest in undergoing them regardless of the discomforts or the length of time.
