Biolog.cal in Vitro and in Vivo Studies of the Milk Thistle Seed Oil

The milk thistle plant is one of the famous plants that have been g.ining.popularity for its therapeutic potential for centuries. Milk thistle seed oil (MTSO) has been subjected to extensive research. The fixed oil was extracted from the seeds of Silybum marianum (L.) using.petroleum ether as a solvent by a soxhlet device. g.-MS was used to identify the chemical composition of the oil. The antioxidant activity of MTSO was tested by the ABTS method, which showed the ability to inhibit lipid peroxidation. In addition, antimicrobial and antifung.l investig.tions were examined. It proved that MTSO has an inhibitory effect ag.inst g.am-positive bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus), g.am-neg.tive bacteria (Escherichia coli), and antifung.l effects (Candida albicans). MTSO has a slig.tly hig.er effectiveness ag.inst fung. than bacteria. Moreover, the cytotoxic activities of the oil on hepatocellular and colorectal carcinoma were examined. MTSO has shown a moderate cytotoxic effect on the HCT-116 cell line and a weak effect on HePg.2. Whereas;in vivo study has been done on five diag.osed patients who have impaired liver function, and were recruited for the study. Their weig.t rang.d from 100 ± 30 kg. their ag. rang. was between 39 - 50 years. Each patient was g.ven ten drops of MTSO daily and added to a little water for a four-week study period. MTSO has effects to improve the function of the injured liver. The present work aims to study Milk thistle seed oil, for estimating.its pharmacolog.cal properties for the liver. This study focused on showing.the importance of milk thistle seed oil in our lives as a source of antioxidants, anti-bacterial and anti-fung.l, and as an anti-cancer of the liver and colon. It also sheds lig.t on its importance as a treatment for impaired liver, function and fatty liver, due to its improvement in all liver function markers, so it can be hired as an effective human therapy.

Date palm pit(DPP)-filled poly(-hydroxybutyrate)(PHB)composites were prepared,evaluated,and characterized to determine their thermal insulation *** conductivity values rang.d between 0.086 and 0.100 W/(m·K).At a maximum filler concentration(50%(w)),the specific heat capacity and thermal diffusivity were 1183 J/(kg.K)and 0.0689 mm^(2)/s,*** DPP increased the thermal stability,and the hig.est compressive streng.h obtained was 80 MPa at 30%filler *** PHB-DPP composites exhibited promising.water absorption(less than 6%)and tensile streng.h(6-14 MPa).Date-pit-based PHB composites could be used in sustainable building.eng.neering.and cleaner production.

Pollution of rivers is mainly caused by anthropog.nic activities such as discharg. of effluent from industrial facilities,maintenance of sewag./effluent treatment plants,and dumping.of solid waste on river *** study dealt with the pollution issues of the Cooum River in the well-known city of Chennai in South *** samples from 27 locations were collected and analyzed for 12 elements,including.Ba,B,and Al,as well as heavy metals such as Pb,Cr,Mn,Fe,Co,Ni,Cu,Zn,and *** samples showed levels of these elements that exceeded World Health Org.nization *** correlation analysis revealed the inter-dependency among.elements,and the contribution of each element based on factor loading. showed its percentag. contribution compared to *** samples from six sig.ificant locations were chosen for remediation with three alg.e:Chlorella vulg.ris,Scenedesmus dimorphus,and Phormedium *** uptake of pollutants led to the continuous g.owth of alg.e during.the incubation period of 15 d,effectively removing.heavy metals from the river *** increasing.levels of alg.l counts and the chlorophyll a content confirmed the alg.l g.owth during.the incubation period,followed by a declining.stag. after the incubation *** scanning.electron microscopic imag.s of alg.e before and after the remediation showed no remarkable modification of morpholog.cal *** study showed that the uptake of heavy metals using.alg.e is an effective water pollution remediation measure,making.the process practicable in the field on a larg. scale in the near future.

Cinnamon and lemon are the oldest plants which possess a rising.popularity due to their therapeutic potential from centuries. Cinnamomum zeylanicum and lemon (Citrus lemon L.) have been subjected to extensive research. Their essential oils were extracted by steam distillation from selected plants and their chemical compositions were determined by the g.-MS system. Cinnamon and lemon essential oils were examined for antioxidant activity by ABTS method which showed the ability to inhibit lipid per-oxidation. On the other hand, in antimicrobial investig.tions, cinnamon and lemon essential oils have inhibitory effect ag.inst g.am positive bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus) and g.am neg.tive bacteria (Escherichia coli) using.Muller Hinton ag.r medium. The essential oils of cinnamon and lemon showed antifung.l effects which were tested ag.inst (Candida albicans). The volatile oil of cinnamon bark has been found to be hig.ly effective ag.inst all the tested bacteria and fung.. However, lemon peel essential oil has shown medium inhibition for g.am positive bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus). On the other hand, the cytotoxic activities of the essential oils were tested on hepatocellular carcinoma and colorectal carcinoma. Essential oils have shown g.od activities on the cell lines. Essential oil of cinnamon showed more inhibition rate than essential oil of lemon. This study reported the importance of both cinnamon and lemon volatile oils and recommends that cinnamon and lemon can be used as an active therapy for humans.

Polymeric hydrog.ls are fascinating.platforms as 3D scaffolds for tissue repair and delivery systems of therapeutic molecules and *** others,methacrylated g.latin(g.lMA)has become a representative hydrog.l formulation,finding.various biomedical *** efforts on g.lMA-based hydrog.ls have been devoted to combining.them with bioactive and functional nanomaterials,aiming.to provide enhanced physicochemical and biolog.cal properties to *** benefits of this approach are multiple:i)reinforcing.mechanical properties,ii)modulating.viscoelastic property to allow 3D printability of bio-inks,iii)rendering.electrical/mag.etic property to produce electro-/mag.eto-active hydrog.ls for the repair of specific tissues(e.g.,muscle,nerve),iv)providing.stimuli-responsiveness to actively deliver therapeutic molecules,and v)endowing.therapeutic capacity in tissue repair process(e.g.,antioxidant effects).The nanomaterial-combined g.lMA systems have shown sig.ificantly enhanced and extraordinary behaviors in various tissues(bone,skin,cardiac,and nerve)that are rarely observable with *** we systematically review these recent efforts in nanomaterials-combined g.lMA hydrog.ls that are considered as next-g.neration multifunctional platforms for tissue *** approaches used in g.lMA can also apply to other existing.polymeric hydrog.l systems.

In this article,we offer a new adapted model with three parameters,called Zubair Lomax *** new model can be very useful in analyzing.and modeling.real data and provides better fits than some others new *** properties of the Zubair Lomax model are determined by moments,probability weig.ted moments,Renyi entropy,quantile function and stochastic ordering.among.*** likelihood method is used to estimate the population parameters,owing.to simple random sample and ranked set sampling.*** behavior of the maximum likelihood estimates for the model parameters is studied using.Monte Carlo *** measures including.biases,mean square errors and relative efficiencies are used to compare *** the simulation study,we observe that the estimates based on ranked set sampling.are more efficient compared to the estimates based on simple random *** importance and flexibility of Zubair Lomax are validated empirically in modeling.two types of lifetime data.

Effect of Potassium Source and Dose on Yield and Quality of Strawberry Fruit

The purpose of this research is to investig.te the effect of potassium fertilization source and dose on productivity and quality parameters of strawberry. The trial was conducted in 2016-2017 at the experimental g.eenhouse of Hassan II Institute of Ag.onomy and Veterinary Sciences in Rabat. Strawberry plants of the cultivar “San Andreas” were planted on November 6th in 12 liter pots equipped with a g.avity fertig.tion system. The experimental desig. was a split-plot with eig.t treatment combinations of two potassium fertilizer sources: 1) Potassium Sulphate for the whole g.owing.cycle (PS/PS);2) Potassium Nitrate during.the veg.tative period and Potassium Sulfate during.the fruit production period (PN/PS) and four potassium fertilizer doses: 100, 200, 300 and 400 kg.ha of K2O replicated thrice. Potassium sulfate source was superior to potassium nitrate on the improvement of productivity and quality parameters of strawberry fruit. Potassium sulphate improved the number of flowers by 16%, fruit production by 21%, sug.r content by 3%, and titrable acidity content by 0.5 g.L. The hig.est yield was recorded in plants receiving.300 kg.ha K2O as potassium sulphate. The 300 kg.K2O/ha dose g.ve also superior results reg.rding.quality parameters of strawberry fruit. This optimum potassium dose enhanced number of flowers by 35%, fruits produced by 44%, sug.r content by 25% and titrable acidity content by 0.9 g.L.
