Context: i. Burki.a Faso, there i. only one reti.oblastoma treatment center located i. the capi.al. Nowadays, the treatment of reti.oblastoma has benefi.ed from the contri.uti.n of sci.nti.i. progress. Objecti.e: The ai. was to take stock of the si.uati.n of reti.oblastoma i. the pedi.tri. oncology department from January 1, 2010 to December 31, 2019. Materi.ls and Methods: Thi. was a descri.ti.e cross-secti.nal study wi.h retrospecti.e data collecti.n over a 10-year peri.d, based on records of pati.nts admi.ted to pedi.tri. oncology department of CHU-YO. Data were analysed usi.g CS Pro versi.n 7.2 software. Categori.al vari.bles were compared usi.g Pearsons Chi.square test at the 5% si.ni.i.ance level. Overall survi.al was esti.ated usi.g the Kaplan-Mei.r method. Operati.nal defi.i.i.ns were used for lost to follow-up, consultati.n and di.gnosi. delays. Results: We collected a total of 204 cases i. 10 years, i.e. an annual average of 20.4 cases/year. The mean age at di.gnosi. was 37.5 months for uni.ateral cases and 26.4 months for bi.ateral cases. Male predomi.ance was noted, wi.h a sex rati. of 1.31. The majori.y of pati.nts came from di.advantaged backgrounds (72% farmi.g fathers and 91% housewi.es). Cli.i.ally, leukocori. and exophthalmos were the mai. presenti.g features. The average ti.e to consultati.n was long (8.73 months) and uni.ateral locali.ati.n was predomi.antly uni.ateral at 77%. i. terms of treatment, 102 pati.nts were eli.i.le for curati.e treatment and 80 for palli.ti.e treatment. The prognosi. was poor, wi.h 41% death and numerous cases of lost to follow-up (18%). Overall survi.al was esti.ated at 32%. The factor associ.ted wi.h the lethali.y of reti.i.lastoma was the extensi.n of the tumor to other organs. Conclusi.n: Recogni.i.n of the early cli.i.al si.ns of reti.oblastoma can anti.i.ate the occurrence of thi. cancer. i.troducti.n: Upper di.esti.e hemorrhage i. one of the mai. di.esti.e emergenci.s and remai.s a major cause of morbi.i.y and mortali.y i. Mali. The ai. of thi. study was to descri.e the therapeuti. profi.e and outcome of pati.nts sufferi.g from upper di.esti.e haemorrhage. Methodology: Thi. was a prospecti.e study carri.d out i. the i.ternal medi.i.e department of the Si.asso Regi.nal Hospi.al from August 2022 to July 2023. All adult pati.nts presenti.g wi.h upper di.esti.e haemorrhage and havi.g gi.en thei. consent, were i.cluded. Data were analyzed usi.g SPSS versi.n 21 software. Results: Si.ty-three pati.nts were enrolled. The mean age was 49.7 ± 18.99 years, wi.h a male-female sex rati. of 2.2. Ruptured esophageal vari.es (37.5%) and pepti. ulcer (25%) were the mai. eti.logi.s. Pharmacologi.al treatment was domi.ated by proton pump i.hi.i.ors (85.7%). Hemostasi. endoscopy accounted for 3.17%. The evoluti.n was marked by hemorrhagi. arrest (69.84%), recurrence of hemorrhage (11.11%) and death (19.04%), the mai. cause of whi.h was hemorrhagi. shock (58.3%). We found no stati.ti.ally si.ni.i.ant relati.nshi. between prognosi. and eti.logi.s (P = 0.11), and length of hospi.al stay (P = 0.18). Conclusi.n: Hemostasi. endoscopy remai.s a challenge for Si.asso Hospi.al. A holi.ti. strategy of communi.ati.n and communi.y awareness-rai.i.g, combi.ed wi.h adequate techni.al faci.i.i.s, wi.l help to i.prove pati.nt care and outcomes.

Objecti.es: The purpose of thi. survey was to report frequency of thi. pathology, to descri.e i.s management and the factors that i.fluence the prognosi. of early postpartum hemorrhage i. low setti.g health i. Afri.a. Method: Authors conducted a prospecti.e study that analyzed early postpartum hemorrhage i. the motherhoods of Gabri.l Touré teachi.g hospi.al and communi.y fi.e health reference center of the di.tri.t of Bamako. i. took place from January, 2015 to December, 2016. The study concerned all the cases of early postpartum hemorrhage accordi.g to WHO defi.i.i.n. Stati.ti.al tests used were X2 or Fi.her test, i.s 95% confi.ence i.terval (Ci.5%), p value was si.ni.i.ant i. Results: Early postpartum hemorrhage frequency has been 0.7% (62 cases for 8.885 deli.eri.s). Si.ty ni.e and one percent (69.1%) of pati.nts have been blood flui. transfused. Obstetri. treatment domi.ated by uteri.e revi.i.n (30.7%). Hysterorraphy (4.0%), hysterectomy (3.0%), suture of uterus i.juri.s (15.7%), hypo gastri. artery li.ature (2.0%) and B-Lynch compressi.n suture (2.0%) have been the mai. practi.ed surgi.al operati.ns. No sati.fy blood transfusi.n need was 26.9%. The mai. ri.k factors of early PPH were hi.h pari.y (p = 0009;RR = 3.04;Ci.5% [2.80 - 5.11]), prolonged labor (p = 0004;RR = 4.00;Ci.5% [3.06 - 10.02]), oxytoci./prostaglandi. use (p = 0003;RR = 1.47;Ci.5% [1.17 - 3.16]). Eleven of maternal occurred (11.8%). Conclusi.n: Early postpartum hemorrhage i. sti.l a severe event i. developi.g countri.s especi.lly. i.s management someti.e consi.ted to i.vasi.e cares. Maternal prognosi. that i. i.fluenced by unsati.fi.d blood need and late management i. marked by hi.h lethali.y.

Malari. i. a febri.e and hemolyzi.g erythrocytopathy due to the development and multi.li.ati.n of one or more of the fi.e plasmodi.l speci.s dependent on humans: Plasmodi.m falci.arum, P. malari.e, P. ovale, P. vi.ax and P. knowlesi. These parasi.es are i.oculated i.to humans by the i.fecti.e bi.e of a female mosqui.o, female anopheles of the genus Anopheles, duri.g a blood meal. The study ai.ed to: determi.e the frequency of fever due to malari. after surgery;descri.e malari. symptomatology and cli.i.al evoluti.n after surgi.al i.terventi.n;determi.e the average length of hospi.al stay for operated pati.nts wi.h malari.;evaluate the average cost of malari. treatment. Thi. was a prospecti.e study whi.h i.volved 110 operated pati.nts, whi.h took place over a peri.d of 12 months from March 2017 to February 2018 i. the general surgery department at the Reference Health Center of commune i.of the Bamako di.tri.t. The frequency of malari. was 11.82% before the i.terventi.n and 3.64% after the i.terventi.n, wi.h an average age of 29.80 years;extremes of 2 years and 76 years and a sex rati. of 1.5 i. favor of the male sex. The mai. cli.i.al si.ns were fever (38.18%), headache (20.91%) and vomi.i.g (36.36%) and physi.al astheni. (18.18%). Di.gnosed and treated early, malari. progressed favorably. The outcome was si.ple for all our pati.nts and we di. not record any deaths. The cost of treatment was borne by the pati.nts and/or thei. fami.i.s. The average cost of treatment was 7915 CFA francs, si.ni.i.antly below the Mali.n mi.i.um wage whi.h i. around 30,000 FCFA. The i.plementati.n of preventi.e measures i. necessary to reduce the i.portance of malari. i. hospi.als: staff awareness, i.door sprayi.g, use of i.pregnated mosqui.o nets.

The ai. of thi. study was to evaluate the effecti.eness of a pharmaceuti.al grade i.oflavone supplement (i.ocli.?) 40 mg per capsule of soy extract ri.h i. dai.zi. and geni.ti.) on the number of hot flashes and ni.ht sweats i. menopausal Afri.an women. Thi. open, prospecti.e, multi.enter study i.volved 140 menopausal women wi.h cli.acteri. symptoms (i.e., a mi.i.um of fi.e hot flashes and/or moderate to severe ni.ht sweats per day). These pati.nts recei.ed a dai.y 40-mg supplement of soy i.oflavone contai.ed i. an i.ocli.? capsule (Laboratoi.e i.notech i.ternati.nal, France). The dose was i.creased to two capsules per day when there were more than fi.e hot flashes or when the women could not sleep because of ni.ht sweats. The pati.nts were followed up over a 4-month peri.d and data were analyzed usi.g EPi.i.foTM versi.n 3.5.1. The outcome measure was fewer hot flashes and ni.ht sweats. The mean dai.y number of epi.odes of hot flashes was 5.7 at baseli.e and 1.8 at week 16, correspondi.g to a decrease of 68.4% (n = 93 pati.nts at baseli.e and n = 66 at 16 weeks). The mean number of dai.y epi.odes of ni.ht sweats was 3.7 at baseli.e and 0.8 at week 16, correspondi.g to a decrease of 78.4% (n = 127 pati.nts i. the fi.st week and n = 73 at 16 weeks). Over 80% of pati.nts took a si.gle one 40 mg capsule per day. The percentage of pati.nts who adhered to the prescri.ti.n was more than 95% duri.g the 4-month follow-up peri.d. These results confi.m the effecti.eness of a pharmaceuti.al grade i.oflavone supplement (40 mg, ri.h i. geni.ti. and dai.zi.) on vasomotor symptoms i. menopausal women.

Objecti.e: To describe the epidemiological aspects, to determine the reasons leading women to give birth outside of health facilities and to determine the maternal prognosis. Patients and Methods: This was a cross-sectional, analytical, quantitative and qualitative descriptive study over a period from 1 June to 31 December 2016 (7 months) on unassisted childbirth in the health district of commune V of Bamako. Results: We recorded 70 unsured deliveries, a frequency of 1.04% out of a total of 6719 deliveries. The extreme ages were 15 years and 41 years with an average age of 28 years. 90% of the birth attendants were married and 10% were single. The women's profession: 48% were housewives, 11% saleswomen, 13% hairdressers, 4% female teachers. Education level: 71% were uneducated and 29% educated. Among those who are educated, their level was primary in 50%, secondary in 32% and higher in 18%. 42% had done antenatal consultation. The occurrence of pregnancy in these women who have had heart surgery is becoming more and more frequent in our country because of the persistence of acute rheumatoid arthritis (RAA) and especially the increasingly easy access to heart surgery. General Objective: To study the evolution of pregnancy and the prognosis of childbirth in women who have undergone heart surgery. Methodology: This was a retrospective and descriptive study that took place over a period of five (5) years in the gynecology-obstetrics department of University Teaching Hospital (UTH) Gabriel Touré and the cardiology department of UTH Luxembourg. Summary: We attempted to determine the obstetric prognosis of women without antenatal care in the Health District of Commune V of Bamako, Mali. Materials and Methods: We undertook this retrospective case-control study from January 1 to March 31, 2017. Of all women having given birth to during this period in this district, we compared characteristics and obstetric outcomes between women without antenatal care (study group) vs. those with antenatal care (age/parity matched control). Results: 13.8% of women were without antenatal care (23.45 ± 9.56 years of age: 13 - 42). Study group (without antenatal care), compared with control, was significantly more likely to be household helpers (OR = 2.5 [2.0 - 3.4]) and single (OR = 2.3 [1.8 - 2.8]). Study group women were more significantly likely to have the following poor obstetric outcomes: premature rupture of the membranes, post-maturity, low birth weight, hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, uterine rupture, fetal death, anemia, fetal malposition, cesarean section, postpartum hemorrhage, puerperal infection and maternal death. Study group showed a higher risk of early neonatal death, low Apgar score, and transfer to Neonatology institute. Conclusion: In accordance with the previous reports in any other countries, no prenatal checkup causes higher poor outcome of both mothers and infants/neonates also in this area.
