Knowledge regarding the influence of individual traits on interaction patterns in nature can help understand the topological role of individuals within a network of intrapopulation *** tested hypotheses on the relationships between individuals'positions within networks(specialization and centrality)of 4 populations of the mouse opossum Gracilinanus agilis and their traits(i.e.,body length,body condition,tail length relative to body length,sex,reproductive condition,and botfly parasitism)and also seasonal effects in the Brazilian *** with lower body length,better body condition,and relatively shorter tail were more specialized(i.e.,less connected within the network).Individuals were also more specialized and less connected during the warm-wet *** relationship between individuals'position in the network and body traits,however,was independent of *** propose that specialization may arise not only as a result of preferred feed-ing strategies by more capable individuals(i.e.,those with better body condition and potentially prone to defend and access high-quality food resources)but alsobecause of morphological ***/younger individuals(consequently with less experience in foraging)and short-tailed individuals(less skilled to explore the vertical strata of the vegetation)would feed only on a subset of the available food resources and consequently become more ***,individuals are more specialized during the warm-wet season because of high competition(population-dense period)and higher ecological opportunities(resource-rich period).Therefore,our study reveals the relevance of individual traits inshaping interactionpatternsandspecialization inpopulations.

With the increase in antimicrobial resistance,it has become necessary to explore alternative approaches for combating and preventing ***-cinnamaldehyde(CNM)and Benzyl4-amino(B4AM)are bioactive compounds derived from chalcones but with restricted solubility in aqueous *** can enhance the solubility of compounds and can be a promising alternative in the development of novel antimicrobials,with reduced side effects and prolonged *** objective of this study was to evaluate the stability of oil-in-water nanoemulsions loaded with two distinct types of chalcones at two different dosages,to propose a stable formulation with antimicrobial *** showed that nanoemulsions presented high encapsulation efficiency,low polydispersity index(PDI)and particle size below 200 nm,indicating that emulsification was a suitable method for nanoemulsion *** with higher dosages exhibited significant antimicrobial effects when compared to free chalcones and positive ***,B4AM nanoemulsions at higher dosages showed expressive activity against Salmonella minnesota,with a 420%greater inhibitory response compared to the free form and showing equivalence to the positive *** nanoemulsions showed excellent inhibitory activity at the highest dosage,equivalent to the positive control against *** and Staphylococcus *** greater number of conjugated bonds in CNM increased the antimicrobial activity in comparison with B4AM,and the formation of nanometric domains enhanced the bioavailability,being a promising alternative for antimicrobial applications.

This study aimed to evaluate the potential use of Agaricus bisporus mushroom as a natural antioxidant,fat/salt substitute and flavor enhancer in beef *** treatments were considered using a fractional factorial design(salt[0.5,1.25 and 2.0%],fat[10,15 and 20%]and mushroom content[0,15 and 30%]).Treatments were characterized by instrumental and sensory *** statistical design indicated that fat content had little influence on the *** principal component analysis showed that the incorporation of mushrooms and salt modified the texture,moisture and water *** stability decreased as the salt content increased,at a low-fat ***,the sensory profile was affected by the mushroom and salt contents,with the fat content exerting the least ***,mushroom incorporation in beef burger may be a feasible strategy to reduce the fat content of beef burgers.

Strategy for reliable identification of ischaemic stroke, thrombolytics and thrombectomy in large administrative databases

Background Administrative data are frequently used in stroke *** accurate identification of patients who had an ischaemic stroke,and those receiving thrombolysis and endovascular thrombectomy(EVT)is critical to ensure representativeness and *** examined differences in patient samples based on mode of identification,and propose a strategy for future patient and procedure identification in large administrative *** We used non-public administrative data from the state of California to identify all patients who had an ischaemic stroke discharged from an emergency department(ED)or inpatient hospitalisation from 2010 to 2017 based on International Classification of Disease(ICD-9)(2010-2015),ICD-10(2015-2017)and Medicare Severity-Diagnosis-related Group(MS-DRG)discharge *** identified patients with interhospital transfers,patients receiving thrombolytics and patients treated with EVT based on ICD,Current Procedural Terminology(CPT)and MS-DRG *** determined what proportion of these transfers and procedures would have been identified with ICD versus MS-DRG discharge *** Of 365099 ischaemic stroke encounters,most(87.70%)had both a stroke-related ICD-9 or ICD-10 code and stroke-related MS-DRG code;12.28% had only an ICD-9 or ICD-10 code and 0.02% had only an MS-DRG *** all transfers(99.99%)were identified using ICD *** identified 32433 thrombolytic-treated patients(8.9% of total)using ICD,CPT and MS-DRG codes;the combination of ICD and CPT codes identified nearly all(98%).We identified 7691 patients treated with EVT(2.1%of total)using ICD and MS-DRG codes;both MS-DRG and ICD-9/ICD-10 codes were necessary because ICD codes alone missed 13.2%of *** codes only pertain to outpatient/ED patients and are not useful for EVT *** ICD-9/ICD-10 diagnosis codes capture nearly all ischaemic stroke encounters and transfers,while the combination of ICD-9/ICD-10 and CPT codes are adequate

Environmental Factors Affecting Chromium-Manganese Oxidation-Reduction Reactions in Soil

Disposal of chromium （Cr） hexavalent form, Cr（Ⅵ）, in soils as additions in organic fertilizers, liming materials or plant nutrient sources can be dangerous since Cr（Ⅵ） can be highly toxic to plants, animals, and humans. In order to explore soil conditions that lead to Cr（Ⅵ） generation, this study were performed using a Paleudult （Dystic Nitosol） from a region that has a high concentration of tannery operations in the Rio Crande do Sul State, southern Brazil. Three laboratory incubation experiments were carried out to examine the influences of soil moisture content and concentration of cobalt and organic matter additions on soil Cr（Ⅵ） formation and release and manganese （Mn） oxide reduction with a salt of chromium chloride （CrCl3） and tannery sludge as inorganic and organic sources of Cr（Ⅲ）, respectively. The amount of Cr（Ⅲ） oxidation depended on the concentration of easily reducible Mn oxides and the oxidation was more intense at the soil water contents in which Mn（Ⅲ/Ⅳ） oxides were more stable. Soluble organic compounds in soil decreased Cr（Ⅵ） formation due to Cr（Ⅲ） complexation. This mechanism also resulted in the decrease in the oxidation of Cr（Ⅲ） due to the tannery sludge additions. Chromium（Ⅲ） oxidation to Cr（Ⅵ） at the solid/solution interface involved the following mechanisms： the formation of a precursor complex on manganese （Mn） oxide surfaces, followed by electron transfer from Cr（Ⅲ） to Mn（Ⅲ or Ⅳ）, the formation of a successor complex with Mn（Ⅱ） and Cr（Ⅵ）, and the breakdown of the successor complex and release of Mn（Ⅱ） and Cr（Ⅵ） into the soil solution.

目前,中国是墨西哥第三大贸易伙伴,墨西哥是中国在拉丁美洲第二大贸易伙伴。因为墨西哥从中国进口量远远高于墨西哥对中国的出口,所以许多经济学家研究了他们之间的贸易关系。2017年墨西哥对中国的出口额为67亿美元,同年墨西哥从中国进口额为741亿美元,这意味着贸易收支赤字为674亿美元,而这些进口数据中的85%是墨西哥从中国进口的中间产品,即墨西哥出口产品的组成部分。根据以上所述,可以得出一个共识,即政府必须纠正贸易平衡中的大量赤字。本文首先介绍了国际收支的相关概念,意义、结构和顺差与逆差理念,阐述了影响国际收支的诸多因素还总结国际收支主要调节理论;其次对墨西哥与中国的贸易收支进行分析,从进出口产品的结构,行业现状,以及国际贸易合作角度来探讨两国国际收支逆差及其原因;然后,根据马歇尔-勒纳条件,如果两国家的进出口弹性大于一,那货币实际贬值将会改善贸易余额,因为面对贬值,实际汇率增加,出口价格下降,从而需求增加,国内进口需求降低。这个条件得到满足意味着实际汇率的贬值会带来国家竞争力提高并导致贸易收支改善,所以本文通过对墨西哥进出口弹性的验证,认为本币贬值可以改善贸易收支;最后从双边贸易关系、墨中进出口结构和适当的货币贬值那些角度提出了改善墨西哥与中国贸易收支的具体对策。

Influence of Early Life Stress on Alcohol and Crack dependents

Background: Early life stress is a significant public health problem associated with increased rates of psychiatric disorders, especially those related to drug abuse. Objective: To identify the prevalence of early life stress in drug users, to compare the intensity of trauma in alcohol and crack users, and to relate the power of injury to the severity of drug dependence. Method: Cross-sectional analytical study with a sample of 105 alcohol and crack users treated by an outpatient service. The instruments for data collection were sociodemographic data questionnaire, the Mini-International Neuropsychiatric Interview, and the Severity of dependence Scale. The categorical variables association was analyzed using the Chi-squared test, considering p Results: High prevalence of early stress and severity of dependence were identified, with higher rates among crack users. The early stress revealed in the Alcohol group high rates of emotional (88.7%) and physical (94.3%) neglect and in the Crack group significant frequency of physical (61.5%) emotional abuse (51.9%), sexual (46.2%), and emotional (78.8%) and physical (90.4%) neglect. Crack users are 2.6 times more likely to have been emotionally abused, and 2.1 times more likely to have been sexually abused during childhood when compared to the alcohol group. Conclusion: Early stress was prevalent with significant intensity in drug users, and evaluation of this problem is essential for a better understanding of these disorders.
