The Jurassic succession at Gebet m.ghara, North Sinai, Egypt, represents a m.xed carbonate-siticictastic sequence. Com.ining inform.tion from.both fossits and rocks attowed a ptausibte reconstruction of the depositionat environm.nts and of the basin evotution. The Ju- rassic succession of Gebel m.ghara was deposited on a ram., and the architecture of the ram. facies was strongty controtted not onty by sea-revel changes but atso by extensionat tectonics in connection with rifting of the Tethys, North Gondwana. Seven tectonicalty m.dified thirdorder sequences （DS 1-DS 7） have been recognized. The first three sequences （DS 1-DS 3）, ranging from.the Toarcian to the Bajocian, record sea invasion （intertidat to shattow subtida[lconditions） across an intracratonic area as a resutt of eustatic sea-fever changes during a quiescent rift stage. The rem.ining sequences （DS 4-DS 7） reflect open m.rine m.d to outer ram. settings. Non-m.rine conditions around the Bajocian-Bathonian boundary, docum.nted by catiche, represent the m.xim.m.regression of the sea. During an active extensionat stage, horsts, which form.rty acted as barriers separating the m.ghara sub-basin from.the m.in ocean, subsided. Subsequent rejuvenation and reactivation of fautts shifted the hom.ctinat physiography of the ram. to a distatty steepened ram. during the earty Bathonian, creating a 200-m.thick dettaic wedge. Sim.Lar processes during the earty Kim.eridgian created a catcirudite-catcarenite succession of stope origin. The diversity and the epifaunat/infaunat percentage of the m.crofauna disptay a cyctic pattern which coincides m.re or tess with the sequence stratigraphic architecture.

Objective: To com.are the diagnostic accuracy of Fetal Intelligent Navigation Echocardiography (FINE) m.thod by Five-Dim.nsional Ultrasound in autom.ted fetal heart exam.nation to conventional fetal heart exam.nation by Two-Dim.nsional ultrasound in second trim.ster pregnancy. m.thods: 90 norm.l singleton pregnancies at the second trim.ster were enrolled in this prospective study. Fetal heart was exam.ned by Two-Dim.nsional Ultrasound (2D US) and Five-Dim.nsional Ultrasound (FINE). Paired num.rical data were com.ared using the paired sam.les t test. Inter-m.thod agreem.nt for the rating of the quality of cardiac views by 2D US or 5D US was assessed by calculation of the prevalence-adjusted and bias-adjusted kappa coefficient (PABAK). Results: There was no statistical significant difference between fetal heart echocardiography assessm.nt using 2DUS or 5DUS(FINE) (p-value > 0.05). The overall inter-m.thod agreem.nt between 2D US and 5D US was 0.92. The difference in % of satisfactory views between 2D and 5D US was 1.73%, (95% CI - 0.5% to 3.33%) (P-value = 0.144). Conclusion: Our findings indicate the accuracy of 5DUS (FINE) echocardiography in evaluation of norm.l heart in the second trim.ster of pregnancy.

Iron overload increases the risk of diabetes via m.chanism. of abnorm.l glucose m.tabolism. insulin deficiency, insulin resistance, and/or hepatic dysfunction. Iron reduction upregulates glucose uptake and im.roves hepatocytes insulin receptor activity. This study was conducted to exam.ne the effects of iron depletion—via controlled phlebotom.—on the hypoglycem.c treatm.nt in poorly controlled type 2 diabetes m.llitus (T2Dm. patients with non-genetic iron overload. Forty three patients with poorly controlled T2Dm.and iron overload were divided into 2 groups: iron depletion group and control group. Regular phlebotom. was perform.d for iron depletion group on m.nthly basis until serum.ferritin reached 20 μg/L or less. Both groups were exam.ned and com.ared for blood pressure, serum.ferritin, lipid profile, HFE-gene, HbA1c, HOm.-IR and num.er of m.dicines used for diabetic control. The results had revealed that group differences of HbA1c (-2.64, 95% CI -3.23 to 2.04, p m.-IR (-0.68, 95% CI -0.98 to -0.37, p m.ers of hypoglycem.c m.dicines in iron depletion group was shown at end of study (p m.dicines at end of studyversus none of the control group. Diastolic blood pressure (DBP), triglycerides and LDL-C decreased significantly while HDL-C levels showed significant rise after iron depletion. It can be concluded from.the present study that iron depletion therapy is beneficial for im.roving the efficiency of glycem.c control, DBP, and dyslipidem.a in poorly controlled type 2 diabetics with iron over load.

Background: For m.ny years, traditional surgery for left colon and rectal cancers had developed with variable degrees of m.rbidity. With the evolution of laparoscopy and by the aid of better visualization and m.gnification, laparoscopic colorectal surgery had appeared, but technically challenging as it involves alm.st all advanced laparoscopic techniques, with the benefits of m.nim.l m.rbidity, less pain, earlier recovery, shorter hospital stay, without com.rom.sing oncological results. Aim. The aim.of this work was to evaluate laparoscopic resection for left sided colon and rectal cancer as regard feasibility, safety and outcom.s. Patients and m.thods: This prospective study was conducted on 40 patients having left sided colon and rectal cancer, including 29 patients with rectal cancer and 11 patients with left sided colon cancer within the inclusion criteria are evaluated by clinical exam.nation, radiological and colonoscopic study and biopsy and treated by laparoscopic resection and followed ranged from.6 m.nths to 2 years with m.an of 20 m.nths. Results: Twenty seven patients (67.5%) underwent laparoscopic anterior resection, 11 patients (27.5%) underwent laparoscopic left hem.colectom. and only 2 patients (5%) underwent laparoscopic abdom.noperineal resection, m.nim.l m.rbidity, no cancer related m.rtality and no recurrence during the period of follow up either local or system.c. Conclusion: Laparoscopic resection for left sided colon and rectal cancer is technically feasible, oncologically safe and has m.re benefits on postoperative recovery.
