Experimenta. work wa. conducted a. two a.ia.ies loca.ed in Irbid district a.d in Shuna.North, Jorda., during the yea.s 2004-2006. The a.ms of these investiga.ions were to estima.e the sea.ona. cha.ges in the infesta.ion ra.es of the bee louse （Bra.la.sp.） a.d to develop a. ea.y a.d ra.id method of estima.ing the infesta.ion ra.e on workers with bee Bra.la. Two ma.or honey bee subspecies a.e rea.ed in Jorda.; a.is mellifera.ca.nica.a.d a.is mellifera.syria.a.were used in this study. The results showed tha. the infesta.ion ra.e bega. to increa.e ra.idly in Ma., rea.hing the sea.on＇s ma.imum ra.e of 16.2%, 15.8% a.d 17.4% fora. m. ca.nica.a.d 22.6%, 23.9% a.d 22.9% fora. m. syria.a.in December of 2004, 2005 a.d 2006, respectively. The ma.imum a.ult numbers of bees were found in a.ril a.d June, wherea. the minimum for the yea. wa. in Ja.ua.y in both honey bee subspecies colonies during the study period. The a.tua. popula.ion of the bee louse could be estima.ed by counting the da.ly dropped lice a.d multiplying by a.fa.tor of 158. This fa.tor is va.id for the experimenta. colonies of both subspecies kept for 3 yea.s under semi-a.id Mediterra.ea. conditions.

This pa.er proposes a.grid-tied photovolta.c(PV)inverter ca.a.le of low-volta.e ride through(LVRT), rea.tive power support, a.d isla.ding protection. Unlike other LVRT inverters, the proposed inverter is independent of sa. severity while ma.nta.ning the ma.imum power-point tra.king(MPPT)under norma. a.d fa.lty conditions. The a.dition of a. energy stora.e buffer sta.e mitiga.es the DC-link volta.e surge during sa.s. a. the sa.e time, the inverter injects the rea.tive power during ba.k-to-ba.k sa.s of va.ia.le depths. The control system of the inverter genera.es the a.propria.e reference signa.s for norma., LVRT, a.d a.ti-isla.ding modes while the MPPT continues running. The sa.ient fea.ures of the proposed inverter a.e:(1) a.tive power injection under norma. grid conditions;(2)sa.-depth independent LVRT with rea.tive power support;(3)no DC-link fluctua.ions;(4) continuous MPPT mode;a.d(5) simulta.eous LVRT a.d a.ti-isla.ding support during a.grid outa.e. The inverter demonstra.es a. uninterrupted opera.ion a.d sea.less tra.sition between va.ious opera.ing modes. Simula.ions a.d the experimenta. prototype ha.e been implemented to va.ida.e the effica.y of the proposed PV inverter.
