ZrO_2 wa. trea.ed with 10% SO_4^(2-) from different meta. sulfa.e precursors for metha.ol dehydra.ion to dimethyl *** the sa.ples exhibited tetra.ona. pha.e a.d no diffra.tion pea.s corresponding to meta. sulfa.es or meta. oxides were *** FT-IR results revea.ed tha. there were different intera.tions between sulfa.e a.d ZrO_2,a.d this ha. a.grea. effect on the surfa.e a.ea.of the *** ca.alytic a.tivity wa. mea.ured over the ca.alysts in the tempera.ure ra.ge of 100-300 ℃.The results revea.ed tha. sulfa.ed zirconia.with CuSO_4·5 H_2O a.d a._2(SO_4)_3·16 H_2O showed the best ca.alytic *** ma.imum yield of DME ≈87% wa. obta.ned over CuSZ a. a.rea.tion tempera.ure of 275 ℃.Moreover,the ca.alytic a.tivity of the ca.alysts wa. correla.ed well with their surfa.e a.idity tha. mea.ured by dehydra.ion of isopropa.ol.
