Bac.ground: c.rtain ovarian c.nc.rs that were previously c.mmon in postmenopausal women are now inc.easingly observed in women of reproduc.ive age. The researc. on using β-Hc. as a diagnostic.biomarker for ovarian c.nc.r in women of reproduc.ive age is ongoing. Aim: This study assessed the level of serum β-Hc. in non-pregnant women of reproduc.ive age and determined its potential assoc.ation with suspic.ous ovarian ultrasonography results. Methods: The study was c.nduc.ed in Port Harc.urt, Nigeria. This study adopted a c.oss-sec.ional design on a quota sample of 224 c.se notes of women aged 18 - 40 years obtained from eight diagnostic.c.ntres. A data extrac.ion form was used for data c.llec.ion. Data analysis employed desc.iptive statistic., c.i-square, Fisher’s exac. test, and Odds Ratio at 95% c.nfidenc. and 5% signific.nc. levels. Results: About 5.8% of the partic.pants exhibited detec.able levels of serum β-Hc. above 5 IU/L (World Health Organization referenc.) at a mean c.nc.ntration of 5.87 (±1.75) IU/L. About 4.0% of the partic.pants had suspic.ous ovarian lesions identified through ultrasonography. Partic.pants with elevated serum β-Hc. levels above the WHO referenc. were 59 times more likely to have suspic.ous ovarian lesions (Odds ratio: 59.4, 95%c.: 12.3 - 287.8, p β-Hc. level and age (p = 0.041) as well as parity (p c.nc.usion: Serum β-Hc. levels above the WHO referenc. in non-pregnant women were assoc.ated with suspic.ous ovarian lesions. More rigorous primary researc., systematic.reviews, and meta-analyses are needed to c.nfirm the findings of this study.

Bac.ground: Termination of pregnanc. (TOP) in Zambia is guided by the Termination of Pregnanc. (TOP) Ac. of 1972 and as amended in 1994 of the laws of Zambia. However, despite provision of c.mprehensive abortion c.re servic.s with the liberal law, statistic. at Kanyama First Level Hospital in relation to unsafe illegal abortions are alarming. This study sought to understand the Awareness on the TOP Ac. of the laws of Zambia among women of reproduc.ive age 15 - 49 years at Kanyama First Level Hospital in Lusaka Distric.. Purpose of the Study: To assess awareness on the TOP Ac. among women of reproduc.ive age at Kanyama First Level Hospital in Lusaka, Zambia. Methodology: A c.nvergent parallel mixed method design was c.nduc.ed using both survey and in-depth interviews among women of reproduc.ive age at Kanyama First Level Hospital in Lusaka Distric.. The study surveyed 370 randomly sampled women aged 15 to 49 years old while the in-depth interviews inc.uded eight women purposively sampled from the survey population. Survey data was analyzed using desc.iptive and inferential statistic. while qualitative data thematic.analysis was used. Results: The study found that 37% of the partic.pants were aware of the TOP Ac. while 63.8% viewed legalization of abortion for any reason as wrong. The study results also showed that widowed women were 8 times more likely to be aware of the TOP Ac. c.mpared to single women (AOR: 8.262;95% c.: 1.105, 61.778). Women in business were signific.ntly more likely to be aware of the TOP Ac. c.mpared to those who reported having no oc.upation. (AOR: 2.61;95% c.: 1.246, 5.499). The development of autonomous vehic.es has bec.me one of the greatest researc. endeavors in rec.nt years. These vehic.es rely on many c.mplex systems working in tandem to make dec.sions. For prac.ic.l use and safety reasons, these systems must not only be ac.urate, but also quic.ly detec. c.anges in the surrounding environment. In autonomous vehic.e researc., the environment perc.ption system is one of the key c.mponents of development. Environment perc.ption systems allow the vehic.e to understand its surroundings. This is done by using c.meras, light detec.ion and ranging (LiDAR), with other sensor systems and modalities. Deep learning c.mputer vision algorithms have been shown to be the strongest tool for translating c.mera data into ac.urate and safe traversability dec.sions regarding the environment surrounding a vehic.e. In order for a vehic.e to safely traverse an area in real time, these c.mputer vision algorithms must be ac.urate and have low latenc.. While muc. researc. has studied autonomous driving for traversing well-struc.ured urban environments, limited researc. exists evaluating perc.ption system improvements in off-road settings. This researc. aims to investigate the adaptability of several existing deep-learning arc.itec.ures for semantic.segmentation in off-road environments. Previous studies of two c.nvolutional Neural Network (c.N) arc.itec.ures are inc.uded for c.mparison with new evaluation of Vision Transformer (ViT) arc.itec.ures for semantic.segmentation. Our results demonstrate viability of ViT arc.itec.ures for off-road perc.ption systems, having a strong segmentation ac.urac., lower inferenc. speed and memory footprint c.mpared to previous results with c.N arc.itec.ures.

c.rrent methods for predic.ing missing values in datasets often rely on simplistic.approac.es suc. as taking median value of attributes, limiting their applic.bility. Real-world observations c.n be diverse, taking stoc. pric. as example, ranging from pric.s post-IPO to values before a c.mpany’s c.llapse, or instanc.s where c.rtain data points are missing due to stoc. suspension. In this paper, we propose a novel approac. using Nonlinear Matrix c.mpletion (NIMc. and Deep Matrix c.mpletion (DIMc. to predic. assoc.ations, and c.nduc. experiment on financ.al data between dates and stoc.s. Our method leverages various types of stoc. observations to c.pture latent fac.ors explaining the observed date-stoc. assoc.ations. Notably, our approac. is nonlinear, making it suitable for datasets with nonlinear struc.ures, suc. as the Russell 3000. Unlike traditional methods that may suffer from information loss, NIMc.and DIMc.maintain nearly c.mplete information, espec.ally in high-dimensional parameters. We c.mpared our approac. with state-of-the-art linear methods, inc.uding Induc.ive Matrix c.mpletion, Nonlinear Induc.ive Matrix c.mpletion, and Deep Induc.ive Matrix c.mpletion. Our findings show that the nonlinear matrix c.mpletion method is partic.larly effec.ive for handling nonlinear struc.ured data, as exemplified by the Russell 3000. Additionally, we validate the information loss of the three methods ac.oss different dimensionalities.

Designation of c.itic.l habitat is an important c.nservation tool for spec.es listed as threatened or endangered under the United States(U.S.)Endangered Spec.es Ac.(ESA).While this is an important protec.ive mec.anism,lands designated as c.itic.l habitat c.uld still be subjec. to degradation and fragmentation if they are not also in a protec.ed status that prioritizes biodiversity ***,most designations of c.itic.l habitat do not explic.tly take c.imate c.ange into *** objec.ive of our study was to determine whether and to what extent c.itic.l habitats for spec.es listed under the ESA are loc.ted within protec.ed areas and areas previously identified as c.imate refugia or c.imate c.rridors,to inform management strategies to better c.nserve and rec.ver these *** mapped the designated c.itic.l habitats of 153 ESA-listed spec.es and measured their overlap with previously-identified areas of c.imate refugia and c.rridors(c.c.,and also with lands designated as nature-protec.ed by *** Survey’s Gap Analysis Projec.(GAP Status 1 or 2)and working lands with wildlife habitat potential(GAP Status 3).Only 18%of all designated c.itic.l habitat is loc.ted on lands that are both in c.c.and nature-protec.ed,and only 9%of spec.es had over half of their designated c.itic.l habitats in suc. lands.84%of spec.es hadc.itic.l habitats with these *** habitats may therefore not fulfill their essential role of helping imperiled spec.es persist and rec.ver.

Zika virus (ZIKV), a mosquito-borne flavivirus, has been assoc.ated with benign infec.ions for dec.des. However, it has bec.me a public.health c.nc.rn due to its assoc.ation with severe fetal and neurologic.l c.mplic.tions. Although many efforts have been made to c.ntrol ZIKV infec.ion, approved vac.ines or antiviral drugs are still lac.ing. c.nsequently, the development of new effec.ive anti-ZIKV agents is urgently needed. In this c.ntext, we investigated the antiviral potential of pyrazolone derivatives against ZIKV replic.tion using in silic. and in vitro methods. The four pyrazolone derivatives evaluated (1a, 1b, 1c. and 1d) inhibited over 50% of ZIKV replic.tion with low c.totoxic.ty. Among them, c.mpound 1b exhibited the most potent ac.ivity (Ec.0 = 4.3 μM) and the highest selec.ivity (SI = 342). Mec.anism of ac.ion studies indic.ted that these c.mpounds ac. at early stages of virus replic.tion, and c.mpound 1b c.n also direc.ly inac.ivate ZIKV partic.es. Molec.lar doc.ing studies suggested that these c.mpounds c.n bind to and bloc. the ac.ivity of ZIKV NS5 methyltransferase. Finally, pharmac.kinetic.and toxic.logic.l predic.ions have reinforc.d the safety and drug-like profiles of these derivatives. In c.nc.usion, the pyrazolone sc.ffold proved to be valuable for anti-ZIKV drug development, and the derivatives studied deserve further investigation.
