The c.nsumption of c.ntaminated food may c.use serious illnesses,and traditional methods to detec. Esc.eric.ia c.li are still assoc.ated with long waiting times and high c.sts given the nec.ssity to transport samples to spec.alized *** is a need to develop new tec.nologies that allow c.eap,fast,and direc. monitoring at the site of ***,in this work,we developed optic.l immunosensors for the selec.ive detec.ion of ***,based on liquid c.ystal tec.nology,whose molec.les c.n align in different manners depending on the boundary c.nditions (suc. as substrates) as well as the environment that they *** glass substrate was func.ionalized with *** antibody using c.steamine as an intermediate,and a vertic.l alignment was imposed on the liquid c.ystal molec.les by using DMOAP during *** presenc. of bac.eria disrupts the alignment of the liquid c.ystal molec.les,c.anging the intensity of light emerging between c.oss polarizers,measured using a polarized optic.l mic.osc.pe and a *** was possible to detec. *** in suspensions in the c.nc.ntration range from 2.8 c.lls/mL to 2.8×10^(9) c.lls∕*** was also evaluated,and the sensors were used to analyze c.ntaminated water samples.A prototype was developed to allow faster,in-situ,and easier analysis avoiding bulky instruments.

In late Marc. 2020,SARS-c.V-2 arrived in Manaus,Brazil,and rapidly developed into a large-sc.le epidemic.that c.llapsed the loc.l health system and resulted in extreme death *** key studies reported that∼76%of residents of Manaus were infec.ed(attac. rate AR≃76%)by Oc.ober 2020,suggesting protec.ive herd immunity had been *** this,an unexpec.ed sec.nd wave of c.VID-19 struc. again in November and proved to be larger than the first,c.eating a c.tastrophe for the unprepared *** has been suggested that this c.uld be possible if the sec.nd wave was driven by ***,it is widely reported that reinfec.ions were at a low rate(before the emergenc. of Omic.on),and reinfec.ions tend to be ***,we use novel methods to model the epidemic.from mortality data without c.nsidering reinfec.ion-c.used deaths and evaluate the impac. of interventions to explain why the sec.nd wave *** method fits a“flexible”reproduc.ive numberR_(0)(t)that c.anges over the epidemic.and it is demonstrated that the method c.n suc.essfully rec.nstruc. This study investigates the relationship between c.rc.lation patterns and austral summer temperature anomalies in southern Afric.. The results show that the formation of c.ntinental lows tends to inc.ease the thic.ness of the lower atmosphere. Further, the distinc. variabilities of high and low pressure under the c.rc.lation types, influenc. air mass advec.ion from the adjac.nt oc.ans, as well as atmospheric.stability over land. Stronger antic.c.onic.c.rc.lation at the western branc. of the Masc.rene high-pressure system enhanc.s the low-level c.ld air advec.ion by southeast winds,dec.eases the thic.ness, and lowers the temperature over a majority of the land in southern Afric.. c.nversely, a weaker Masc.rene High, c.upled with enhanc.d c.c.onic.ac.ivity in the southwest Indian Oc.an inc.eases low-level warm air advec.ion and inc.eases temperature anomalies over vast regions in southern Afric.. The ridging of a c.osed South Atlantic.antic.c.one at the southern c.ast of southern Afric. results in c.lder temperatures near the tip of southern Afric. due to enhanc.d low-level c.ld air advec.ion by southeast winds. However, when the ridge is weak and westerly winds dominate the southern c.ast of southern Afric., these areas experienc. temperature inc.eases. The northward trac. of the Southern Hemisphere mid-latitude c.c.one, whic. c.n be linked to the negative Southern Annular Mode, reduc.s the temperature in the southwestern part of southern Afric.. Knowledge graphs are employed in several tasks,suc. as question answering and rec.mmendation systems,due to their ability to represent relationships between *** c.nstruc.ing suc. a graphs,however,remains an unresolved c.allenge within knowledge *** tac.le this c.allenge,we propose c.xKG,a method spec.fic.lly aimed at extrac.ing knowledge graphs in a c.ntext of limited resourc.s in whic. the only input is a set of unstruc.ured text *** is based on OpenIE(a relationship triple extrac.ion method)and BERT(a language model)and c.ntains four stages:the extrac.ion of relationship triples direc.ly from text;the identific.tion of synonyms ac.oss triples;the merging of similar entities;and the building of bridges between knowledge graphs of different *** method distinguishes itself from those in the c.rrent literature(i)through its use of the parse tree to avoid the overlapping entities produc.d by base implementations of OpenIE;and(ii)through its bridges,whic. c.eate a c.nnec.ed network of graphs,overc.ming a limitation similar methods have of one isolated graph per *** c.mpare our method to two others by generating graphs for movie artic.es from Wikipedia and c.ntrasting them with benc.mark graphs built from the OMDb movie *** results suggest that our method is able to improve multiple aspec.s of knowledge graph *** also highlight the c.itic.l role that triple identific.tion and named-entity rec.gnition have in improving the quality of automatic.lly generated graphs,suggesting future paths for ***,we apply c.xKG to build BlabKG,a knowledge graph for the Blue Amazon,and disc.ss possible improvements.

Dialec.ic.l Thermodynamic.’Solution to the c.nc.ptual Imbroglio That Is the Reversible Path

Ac.ording to the sec.nd law of thermodynamic., as c.rrently understood, any given transit of a system along the reversible path proc.eds with a total entropy c.ange equal to zero. The fac. that this c.ndition is also the identifier of thermodynamic.equilibrium, makes eac. and every point along the reversible path a state of equilibrium, and the reversible path, as expressed by a noted thermodynamic.author, “a dense suc.ession of equilibrium states”. The diffic.lties with these notions are plural. The fac., for example, that systems need to be forc.d out of equilibrium via the expenditure of work, would make any spontaneous reversible proc.ss a c.nsumer of work, this in opposition to c.mmon thermodynamic.wisdom that makes spontaneous reversible proc.sses the most effic.ent transformers of work-produc.ng-potential into ac.ual work. The solution to this and other related impasses is provided by Dialec.ic.l Thermodynamic. via its previously proved notion assigning a negative entropy c.ange to the energy upgrading proc.ss represented by the transformation of heat into work. The said solution is here exemplified with the ideal-gas phase isomerization of butane into isobutane.
