The genus Argemone L.(Papaveraceae)is found widely distributed in Mexico’s Chihuahuan Desert(CD).Some species of this genus are of phytochemical or ethnobotanical *** are inedible plants considered as *** date they have not been broadly studied;thus,their ecology is,to our knowledge,*** present work was centered around carrying out a morphometric analysis and the determination of minerals in the soil and seeds of the wild populations of Argemone at sites belonging to two ecoregions of the CD in *** April 2021 and April 2022,seeds of Argemone spp.,and soil samples were collected at 10 sites of the *** seeds were selected under a randomized design,and weight,length,diameter,thickness,buoyancy,and mineral content were *** soil samples were obtained under the Mexican regulation NOM-021-RECNAT-2000,and determinations of mineral content,electrical conductivity,apparent density,and soluble anions were *** information obtained was grouped by variable,species,and place of *** statistical tests consisted of an ANOVA,Tukey means tests considering p≤0.05,and a Principal Components *** pleiacantha exhibited differences in terms of weight(F=54.79,p=0.001),length(F=90.83,p=0.001),thickness(F=104.89,p=0.001),and diameter(F=155.82,p=0.001),and the differences in Argemone mexicana were in weight(F=46.71,p=0.001),thickness(F=187.49,p=0.001),length(F=191.56,p=0.001),and diameter(F=215.83,p=0.001).The evaluated seeds reached their maximal imbibition velocity at 24 h of *** content of the micro-and macro-nutrients analyzed in the seeds and soil suggest a tight relation with the morphometric characteristics of the seeds.

Bioactive thermal spray coatings produced via high-velocity oxygen fuel spray(hVOF)from hydroxyapatite(hAp)and bioactive glasses(BG)have the potential to be employed on temporary implants due to the ability of both hAp and BG to dissolve and promote osseointegration,considering that both phases have different reaction and dissolution rates under in-vitro *** the present work,75%***-25%wt.S53P4 bioactive glass powders were hVOF-sprayed to obtain hAp/S53P4 BG composite coatings on a bioresorbable AZ31 *** study is focused on exploring the effect of the stand-off distance and fuel/oxygen ratio variation as hVOF parameters to obtain stable structural coatings and to establish their effect on the phases and microstructure produced in those *** characterization techniques,such as scanning electron microscopy,X-ray diffraction,and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,were employed to characterize relevant structural and microstructural properties of the composite *** results showed that thermal gradients during coating deposition must be managed to avoid delamination due to the high temperature achieved(max 550℃)and the differences in coefficients of thermal *** was also found that both spraying distance and oxygen/fuel ratio allowed to keep the hydroxyapatite as the main phase in the *** addition,in-vitro electrochemical studies were performed on the obtained hAp/S53P4 BG composite coatings and compared against the uncoated AZ31 *** results showed a significant decrease in hydrogen evolution(at least 98%)when the bioactive coating was applied on the Mg alloy during evaluation in simulated body fluid(SBF).

Vaccination against Coronavirus disease-19(COVID-19)was pivotal to limit spread,morbidity and *** aim is to find out whether vaccines against COVID-19 lead to an immunological response stimulating the production of de novo donor specific antibodies(DSAs)or increase in mean fluorescence intensity(MFI)of pre-existing DSAs in kidney transplant recipients(KTRs).This study involved a detailed literature search through December 2nd,2023 using PubMed as the primary *** search strategy incorporated a combination of relevant Medical Subject headings terms and keywords:"COVID-19","SARS-CoV-2 Vaccination","Kidney,Renal Transplant",and"Donor specific antibodies".The results from related studies were collated and analyzed.A total of 6 studies were identified,encompassing 460 KTRs vaccinated against *** responses were detected in 8 KTRs of which 5 had increased MFIs,1 had de novo DSA,and 2 were categorized as either having de novo DSA or increased *** were 48 KTRs with pre-existing DSAs prior to vaccination,but one study(Massa et al)did not report whether pre-existing DSAs were associated with post vaccination *** the remaining 5 studies,35 KTRs with pre-existing DSAs were identified of which 7 KTRs(20%)developed de novo DSAs or increased ***,no immunological response was detected in 452(98.3%)*** study affirms prior reports that COVID-19 vaccination is safe for KTRs,especially if there are no pre-existing ***,if KTRs have pre-existing DSAs,then an increased immunological risk may be *** findings need to be taken cautiously as they are based on a limited number of patients so further studies are still needed for confirmation.

Preparation and thermal treatment of Pd/Ag composite membrane on a porousα-alumina tube by sequential electroless plating technique for h_2 separation

Pd/Ag/α-Al2O3 composite membranes were prepared by sequential electroless plating technique. The prepared membranes were characterized by X-ray diffraction （XRD）, scanning electron microscopy （SEM）, energy dispersive spectroscopy, and inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy techniques （ICP-AES）. Effects of annealing time, Ag content, and air treatment on the hydrogen permeation flux and morphology of the alloys were investigated. The results of the investigation showed that the prepared type of tube had a good potential as substrate for membrane preparation. In addition, a uniform defect-free alloy was prepared by annealing at 550 ℃ in h2 atmosphere. The permeation results showed an increase in h2 permeation flux by increasing the Ag content and the annealing time. In addition, the air treatment of the prepared membranes at 400 ℃ for 1 h changed the morphology of the alloy and substantially enhanced the hydrogen flux.

Oil and gas reservoirs are of the main assets of countries possessing *** from these reservoirs is one of the main concerns of engineers,which can be achieved by drilling oil and gas *** of hydrocarbon wells is one of the most expensive operations in the oil *** of the most important parameters affecting drilling cost is the rate of penetration(ROP).This paper predicts the rate of penetration using artificial intelligence and hybrid models on Kaboud oil field well#7 in the directional *** this study,different models were constructed through various approaches based on 1878 dataset obtained from drilling operation in the well#***,the accuracy of the constructed models was compared with each *** was found that the MLP-ABC algorithm predicts the rate of penetration more accurately,by far,as compared with other *** MLP-ABC algorithm achieves impressive ROP prediction accuracy(RMSE=0.007211 m/h;AAPD=0.1871%;R^(2)=1.000 for the testing subset).Consequently,it can be concluded that this method is applicable to predict the drilling rate in that oilfield.

Depression is a devastating psychiatric disorder widely attributed to defi cient monoaminergic signaling in the central nervous system. however,most clinical antidepressants enhance monoaminergic neurotransmission with little delay but require 4-8 weeks to reach therapeutic efficacy,a paradox suggesting that the monoaminergic hypothesis of depression is an oversimplifi cation. In contrast to the antidepressants targeting the monoaminergic system,a single dose of the N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor（NMDAR） antagonist ketamine produces rapid（within 2 h） and sustained（over 7 days） antidepressant effi cacy in treatment-resistant patients. Glutamatergic transmission mediated by NMDARs is critical for experience-dependent synaptic plasticity and learning,processes that can be modifi ed indirectly by the monoaminergic system. To better understand the mechanisms of action of the new antidepressants like ketamine,we review and compare the monoaminergic and glutamatergic antidepressants,with emphasis on neural plasticity. The pathogenesis of depression may involve maladaptive neural plasticity in glutamatergic circuits that may serve as a new class of targets to produce rapid antidepressant effects.

The particle morphological properties,such as sphericity,concavity and convexity,of a granular assembly significantly affect its macroscopic and microscopic compressive behaviors under isotropic loading ***,limited studies on investigating the microscopic behavior of the granular assembly with real particle shapes under isotropic compression were *** this study,X-ray computed tomography(mCT)and discrete element modeling(DEM)were utilized to investigate isotropic compression behavior of the granular assembly with regard to the particle morphological properties,such as particle sphericity,concavity and interparticle *** mCT was first used to extract the particle morphological parameters and then the DEM was utilized to numerically investigate the influences of the particle morphological properties on the isotropic compression *** image reconstruction from mCT images indicated that the presented particle quantification algorithm was robust,and the presented microscopic analysis via the DEM simulation demonstrated that the particle surface concavity significantly affected the isotropic compression *** observations of the particle connectivity and local void ratio distribution also provided insights into the granular assembly under isotropic *** found that the particle concavity and interparticle friction influenced the most of the isotropic compression behavior of the granular assemblies.

In this investigation,some different approaches are implemented for analyzing a generalized forced damped complex Duffing oscillator,including the hybrid homotopy perturbation method(h-hPM),which is sometimes called the Krylov-Bogoliubov-Mitropolsky(KBM)method and the multiple scales method(MSM).All mentioned methods are applied to obtain some accurate and stable approximations to the proposed problem without decoupling the original *** obtained approximations are discussed graphically using different numerical values to the relevant ***,all obtained approximate solutions are compared with the 4thorder Runge-Kutta(RK4)numerical *** maximum residual distance error(MRDE)is also estimated,in order to verify the high accuracy of the obtained analytic approximations.
