We report four disseminated cutaneous leishmaniasis(DCL) cases referred to leishmaniasis laboratory at the School of Public Health,Tehran University of Medical Sciences with multiple nodular,ulcerative and crusted lesions extended on the face,trunk,and *** of the patients had any complication and historical involvement in their immunological system conditions that suggest as the criteria for *** smears of ulcers were positive for Leishmania *** parasite was isolated from the active lesions and identified as Leishmania major(L major) using PCR-RFLP assay and sequencing analysis.

Developing a high-performance Al–Mg–Si–Sn–Sc alloy for essential room-temperature storage after quenching: aging regime design and micromechanisms

Sn microalloying can depress the adverse effect of natural aging after quenching(i.e., room-temperature storage) of Al-Mg-Si alloys. However, the other effect of Sc micro-addition to the Al-Mg-Si-Sn alloys remains elusive. Here, the optimal room-temperature storage time,properties and micromechanisms of Al-0.43 Mg-1.2Si-0.1Sn-0.1Sc(wt%) alloy are investigated by atomic-resolution scanning transmission electron microscopy(STEM),microhardness and corrosion resistance tests. The results show that the peak-aging Al-Mg-Si-Sn-Sc alloy exhibits vastly shortened peak hardening time, increased thermal stability and corrosion resistance compared with its Sc-free counterpart after a long room-temperature storage time of 1 week. Under such a designed double-stage aging regime(1-week room-temperature storage + artificial aging at 180℃), the addition of Sc to Al-Mg-Si-Sn alloy induces a decrease in diameter but an increase in length of peakhardening β″-based precipitates. In addition, a suppressed over-aging phase transition from Sc/Sn-containing β″ to β′ is identified in the Al-Mg-Si-Sn-Sc alloy. The Sn tends to segregate to the Si site in the low-density cylinder of β″ and the central site of sub-B′ in the precipitate can be occupied by Sn/Sc. Further study reveals that Sc and Sn coexist in the precursors of β″. Both reduced width of precipitation free zones and protective corrosion product film easily formed on the material contribute to the improved corrosion resistance of Al-Mg-Si-Sn-Sc *** results provide important insight into the development of high-performance Al alloys.

In recent years,with the increasing demand for social production,engineering design problems have gradually become more and more *** novel and well-performing meta-heuristic algorithms have been studied and developed to cope with this *** them,the Spherical Evolutionary Algorithm(SE)is one of the classical representative methods that proposed in recent years with admirable optimization ***,it tends to stagnate prematurely to local optima in solving some specific ***,this paper proposes an SE variant integrating the Cross-search Mutation(CSM)and Gaussian Backbone Strategy(GBS),called *** this study,the CSM can enhance its social learning ability,which strengthens the utilization rate of SE on effective information;the GBS cooperates with the original rules of SE to further improve the convergence effect of *** objectively demonstrate the core advantages of CGSE,this paper designs a series of global optimization experiments based on IEEE CEC2017,and CGSE is used to solve six engineering design problems with *** final experimental results fully showcase that,compared with the existing well-known methods,CGSE has a very significant competitive advantage in global tasks and has certain practical value in real ***,the proposed CGSE is a promising and first-rate algorithm with good potential strength in the field of engineering design.

The fundamental task of mining engineers is to produce more coal at a given level of labour input and material costs, for optimum quality and maximum efficiency. To achieve these goals, it is necessary to automate and mechanize mining operations. Mechanization is an objective that can result in significant cost reduction and higher levels of profitability for underground mines. To analyze the potential of mechanization, some important factors such as seam inclination and thickness, geological disturbances, seam floor conditions and roof conditions should be considered. In this study we have used fuzzy logic, membership functions and created fuzzy rule-based methods and considered the ultimate objective： mechanization of mining. As a case study, the mechanization of the Tazare coal seams in Shahroud area of Iran was investigated. The results show a low potential for mechanization in most of the Tazare coal seams.

Objective:To study risk factors,contributing factors of bacterial and fungal endophthalmitis in Upper Egypt,test the isolated species sensitive to some therapeutic agents,and to investigate the air-borne bacteria and fungi in opthalmology operating ***:Thirty one cases of endophthalmitis were clinically diagnosed and microbiologically *** air-borne bacteria and fungi inside four air-conditioned operating rooms in the Ophthalmology Department at Assiut University Hospitals were also *** isolated microbes from endophthalmitis cases were tested for their ability to produce some extracellular enzymes including protease,lipase,urease,phosphatase and *** the ability of 5 fungal isolates from endophthalmitis origin to produce mycotoxins and their sensitivity to some therapeutic agents were ***:Results showed that bacteria and fungi were responsible for infection in 10 and 6 cases of endophthalmitis,respectively and only 2 cases produced a mixture of bacteria and *** was the most prevalent risk factor of endophthalmitis where 58.1%of the 31 cases were due to *** ophthalmology operating rooms,different bacterial and fungal species were isolated.8 bacterial and 5 fungal isolates showed their ability to produce enzymes while only 3 fungal isolates were able to produce *** showed the highest effect against most isolates in ***:The ability of bacterial and fungal isolates to produce extracellular enzymes and mycotoxins may be aid in the invasion and destruction of eye tissues. Microbial contamination of operating rooms with air-borne bacteria and fungi in the present work may be a source of postoperative endophthalmitis.

Folic acid supplementation: The new dawn for postmenopausal women with hot flushes

Hot flushes, experienced by 75% of menopausal women, are associated with estrogen deprivation. Estrogen was shown to ameliorate hot flushes by interacting with monoamine neurotransmitters in the brain; reducing noradrenaline and increasing serotonin. Hormone replacement therapy(HRT), the first treatment option, causes concerns over possible increased risks particularly breast cancer. Folic acid is involved in the biosynthesis of serotonin and nordrenaline, which is responsible for its effects on mood and cognition, and degrees of folate inadequacy, not severe enough to produce megaloblastic anaemia, were found to be associated with depression and cognitive malfunctioning. Also, increased age was observed to relate to reduced serum and cerebrospinal fluid folic acid levels. There is emerging evidence that folic acid supplementation ameliorates hot fl ushes by the same mechanism as estrogen. To explore this hypothesis, a multi-centre, double-blind, placebo-controlled randomized is being set up to compare the effect of 5 mg folic acid vs placebo in reducing the frequency and severity of hot fl ushes in postmenopausal women, and on the blood level of serotonin and noradrenaline. If folic acid supplementation is demonstrated to be effective, this will be a turning point in the clinical practice since it represents a cheap, safe and well-tolerated alternative to HRT.
