Socioeconomic Characteristics of Child-Bearing Mothers and Feeding Practices of Under-Five Children in Kori Chiefdom, Sierra Leone

Introduction: The use of proper feeding practices is key for the overall development of children. Generally, breastfeeding and complementary feeding make up the diet and therefore the nutritional status of children. However, the degree to which mothers adhere to the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) regarding breastfeeding and complementary feeding is key to the nutritional status of children. Again, the adherence to this dietary recommendation is contingent on the socio-economic conditions of the child-bearing parents, especially the mothers. Here in this study, the socio-economic characteristics were analyzed along with the feeding practices of children not more than five years old in rural Sierra Leone. Method: Data were collected in 2017 on representative mothers with children within 0 - 5 years old. A total of 10 communities and 200 respondents were randomly covered in the Kori Chiefdom of Moyamba District, Sierra Leone. The data collection instruments included structured questionnaire, inter-personal interaction, personal observation and experience. The collected data were analyzed in Microsoft Excel and SPSS and the results presented in simple graphs. Results: A large number of the respondents were married teenage mothers with 1 - 2 children and living under extreme hardship by the United Nations (UN) standard. Also, most of the mothers were illiterate and started breastfeeding their children within the very hour of birth. Because complementary feeding was started all too early, exclusive breastfeeding last for not more than two months for most of the respondent mothers. Also, because rice is by far the most widely eaten the staple food in Sierra Leone, complementary food was mostly powdered rice mixed with salt and oil. Adsorption Characteristics of Lignite in China

To help in ascertaining methane content of lignite reservoir in China,the isothermal ad-sorption measurements of methane have been performed on moisture-equilibrated coals of some typical lignite-bearing basins,which comprise maximum reflectance of vitrinite（Ro,max） ranging from 0.24% to 0.50%.Related to other coal properties,our analysis shows that methane adsorption of lignite is mainly affected by coalification,as well as by maceral composition,moisture content,and seam *** methane capacities of moisture-equilibrated lignite coals show a continuously increasing（and reasonably exponential） trend with increasing Ro,*** adsorption capacity decreases with maceral composition besides the range 40%-60%,*** content shows discretely cor-respondence with methane *** capacity also decreases as seam temperature increases,and its reduction increases with pressure under a certain temperature.

露天开采是剥离覆盖在矿体上面的表土和废石,同时开采矿石的过程。在开采过程中形成一定的宽度和深度的露天坑。而矿坑的最终形状是在采矿作业开始之前由矿山设计及规划者决定。但是,应该指出的矿山的最终形状因岩体及地质构造的复杂性、经济参数的时效多变性等而有所改变。这就使得露天矿坑的优化成为可能。为了尽量减少废石的剥离,提高资源回收率,露天坑优化已成为露天矿设计的重要组成部分。本文采用矿山应用软件Surpac建立矿山的三维地质块体模型,并在此基础上采用Whittle和Surpac进行露天坑的优化设计。优化设计的约束条件主要包括边坡几何形状、时间价值、目前的矿石市场价格和基于岩石类型不同的永久边坡角等。最后,将研究成果应用于某铜矿,结果表明,优化设计所得的露天坑是安全的、经济的,而且能满足实际生产的要求。当与没有经过优化的设计进行比较,其结果显示了优化设计的露天坑的平均剥采比得到了明显的改进。

PART 1 GSTM1 and GSTT1 Genetic Susceptibility and Interaction with Chemical Exposures in Childhood Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysisBackground: The glutathione s-transferase genes play an important role in the detoxification of carcinogenic substances,and null mutations of these genes are linked to increase in acute lymphoblastic leukemia（ALL）due to an increase in susceptibility to environmental exposures of toxins and carcinogens,and chemical exposures like tobacco smoke and pesticides are common carcinogenic substances that children could be vulnerable to as risk of developing childhood ***: The aim of this study is to analyze the effect of glutathione s-transferase mu1 and theta1 genetic susceptibility and interaction of chemical pesticide and tobacco smoke exposures on childhood *** collection and analysis: A total of 22 published case-controls were included in the meta-analysis of over forty thousand participants with 14974 cases and 25841 *** results: Overall,the meta-analysis of these studies showed increase risk of ALL among children（random-effect OR 1.36,95% CI 1.18-1.57）.Subgroup analysis showed that the GSTM1 and GSTT1 null genotype has more increase association to childhood ALL（random-effect OR 1.36,95% CI 1.05-1.76）,and chemical pesticide in comparison with tobacco smoke exposures did have an increase association with childhood ALL（random-effect OR 1.40,95% CI 1.10-1.78）,（random-effect OR 1.38,95% CI 1.20-1.58）***’ conclusions: in this study,the GSTM1 null genotype is significantly associated with susceptibility to childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia in Asians,and chemical pesticides also showing increase *** GSTM1 and GSTT1 null genotypes show no interaction with chemical pesticides and tobacco smoke exposures in childhood *** 2 Epidemiological Study of Environmental Exposures Associated with Childhood Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia（ALL）and Occurrence in Hen

Fluid inclusions from samples from the layered and veined mineralized belt in the Mopan mine area were studied using microscopic temperature measurements and laser Raman *** studies were conducted on the nature and source of the ore forming fluid and on the mechanism of deposit *** results show that there are three types of inclusions that occur in both the layered and veined ore *** are liquid inclusions,CO 2 inclusions with a liquid phase,and NaCl-H 2 O multiphase *** fluid inclusions in both the layered and veined ore bodies have similar *** ore forming fluid is strongly reducing,was exposed to low to medium temperatures,salinity,and *** source of this ore forming fluid was a mix of submarine volcanic spring(blow-piping),magmatic hydrothermal jet,and underground water.

Productivity of coalbed methane wells in southern of Qinshui Basin

Based on regional CBM geological characteristics and drainage data of three typical Coalbed Methane(CBM) wells in the southern Qinshui Basin,history matching,productivity prediction and factor analysis of gas production control are conducted by using COMET3 reservoir modeling *** results show that in the next 20 years,the cumulative and average daily gas production of the QN01 well are expected to be 800×104 m3 and 1141.1 m3/d,for the QN02 well 878×104 m3 and 1202.7 m3/d and 97.5×104 m3 and 133.55 m3/d for the QN03 *** content and reservoir pressure are the key factors controlling gas production in the area;coal thickness,permeability and porosity are less important;the Langmuir volume,Langmuir pressure and adsorption time have relatively small *** the process of CBM recovery,the material source and driving force are the key features affecting gas productivity,while the permeation process is relatively important and the desorption process has some impact on gas recovery.

对催乳素和牛卵泡液在水牛卵母细胞体外成熟中的作用进行了探讨.来自屠宰场水牛卵巢的卵母细胞和卵丘细胞复合体,在含体积分数为5%CO2的培养箱中培养24～26h,然后通过体外受精测定其受精和胚胎发育能力.实验1在成熟液中添加1 0μg/mL催乳素(PRL),卵母细胞的囊胚发育比例(12 8%)比对照组(9 1%)高但不显著.实验2添加5%牛卵泡液(BFF),卵母细胞卵裂的比例明显高于对照组,但囊胚形成率则几乎一样;添加1 0μg/mLPRL和5%BFF组卵母细胞卵裂的比例为38 1%,而发育成囊胚阶段的卵母细胞的比例为14%.试验结果表明:添加适宜浓度的BFF和PRL能促进未成熟的水牛卵母细胞体外成熟后的胚胎发育能力.
