Peat swamps at Giral lignite field Western India： understanding the modelling of Barmer basin, Rajasthan, evolution through petrological

The lignite samples collected from Giral lignite field of Barmer basin have been subjected to petrological investigation. The data generated has been discussed to understand the evolution of the paleomires of these lignites. The present study reveals that these low rank.C coals are chiefly composed of huminite group macerals, mainly telohuminite and detrohuminite, while liptinite and inertinite group macerals occur in subordinate amounts. Not much variation in the maceral composition from Seam-I to Seam-VIII has been observed. Barmer lignites are characterized by a very high GI （〉10） and moderate TPI indicating topogenous mire in the basin which was permanently flooded. The GI and TPI values and the petrography-based facies critical models indicate that these lignites originated mostly under wet forest swamp to clastic marsh having telmatic to limno-telmatic conditions with a moderate rate of subsidence and a very slow fall in ground water table. Further, the GWI and VI values are suggestive of mesotrophic to rheotrophic hydrological conditions having the dominance of herbaceous to marginal aquatic vegetation. There were spells of periodic drowning of peat especially during the formation of Seam-VII. Moderately high concentration of calcium in these lignites along with the presence of framboidal pyrite indicate enhanced sulphate-reducing bacterial activity present in carbonate and sulphate-rich waters in the basin during peat formation.

Powder mixture of ball-milled aluminium and functionalized multi-walled carbon nanotubes was compacted via spark.plasma sintering （SPS） to study effects of sintering temperature and heating rate. An increase in sintering temperature led to an increase in crystallite size and density, whereas an increase in heating rate exerted the opposite effect. The crystallite size and relative density increased by 85.0% and 14.3%, respectively, upon increasing the sintering temperature from 400 to 600℃, whereas increasing the heating rate from 25 to 100 ℃/min led to respective reduction by 30.0% of crystallite size and 1.8% of relative density. The total punch displacement during SPS for the nanocomposite sintered at 600 ℃ （1.96 mm） was much higher than that of the sample sintered at 400 ℃ （1.02 mm） confirming positive impact of high sintering temperature on densification behaviour. The maximum improvement in mechanical properties was exhibited by the nanocomposite sintered at 600 ℃ at a heating rate of 50℃/min displaying microhardness of 81 4- 3.6 VHN and elastic modulus of 89 4- 5.3 GPa. The nanocomposites consolidated at 400 ℃ and 100 ℃/min, in spite of having relatively smaller crystallite size, exhibited poor mechanical properties indicating the detrimental effect of porosity on the mechanical properties.

The effect of La^(3+),Mn^(2+)and Ni^(2+)doped calcium copper titanate,CaCu_(3)Ti_(4)O_(12)(CCTO),at higher concentrations(CR1 and CR2 with 5 mol%and 10 mol%,respectively),has been examined by semi-wet route at relatively lower *** semi-wet route employs citrate-nitrate gel chemical method using TiO_(2) solid powders.X-ray diffraction(XRD)analysis confirms the formation of single phase in the doped samples sintered at 900℃for 8 *** electron micrographs(SEM)show that the average grain size for CR2 is larger than that of CR1 *** energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDX)is used to study the percentage compositions of different ions present in both *** constant(εr)and dielectric loss(tanδ)values of CR1 are comparatively higher than those of CR2 ceramic at all measured frequencies and *** nature of temperature-dependent relaxation behavior of the ceramics is also studied by impedance,modulus spectroscopic analysis and confirms Maxwell-Wagner relaxation.

Tillage plays an important role in modifying soil hydraulic *** objective of the present study was to evaluate the effect of conservation tillage practices in a maize-wheat cropping system on nearsaturated soil hydraulic properties and pore characteristics in the North-West Himalayan region,*** treatments *** tillage(CT),minimum tillage(MT),and zero tillage(ZT)were evaluated in terms of field saturated hydraulic conductivity(k.),unsaturated hydraulic conductivity k.h),the inverse of capillary length(a),flow-weighted mean pore radius(r0),numbers of pores per square meter(n0)and water-conducting macroporosity(Ɛ).The above hydraulic conductivity and pore characteristics were derived from steady-state water flux(q)measured using hood infiltrometer at 0,1,and3 cm pressure head for each treatment after seven years of establishment of this tillage *** revealed significantly(pk.,k.h),a,andƐin ZT as compared with *** had intermediate *** a values suggested a greater gravity-dominated flow under ZT and MT as compared with *** of r0 values indicated better connectivity of pores in ZT and MT as compared with *** flow suggested that on average pore radii,>0.50 mm conducted about 63.60,68.01,and 75.97%of total flow(at 0 cm pressure head)in the corresponding water-conducting macroporosity of 0.00030,0.00044,and 0.00069%of soil volume under CT,MT,and ZT,***,zero-tillage based agriculture system was found to improve near-saturated soil hydraulic properties.

The main theme of this research is to find the numerical results of stagnation point flow of micropolar fluid over a porous stretchable surface due to the physical effects of internal heat generation/absorption,melting heat transfer and chemical reaction via k.ller-Box method(k.M).The graphs and tables are depicted and explained for various embedded *** range of melting heat transfer parameter is 0≤M≤3,the range of chemical reaction parameter is 0≤k.(r)≤1 whereas the values of space-temperature dependent heat source/sink.parameters lies in-0:4≤Q≤0:4 and-2≤Q*≤*** upshots of the current problem illustrate that at fluid-solid interface,rate of HMT(heat and mass transfer)declined on escalating the values of stretching ***,as the values of internal heat source/sink.parameter increases,heat transfer rate declines at fluid-solid interface.

In this study, an ecofriendly and economically viable waste management approach have been attempted towards the biosynthesis of agriculturally important nanoparticles from jarosite waste. Aspergillus terreus strain J4 isolated from jarosite（waste from Debari Zinc Smelter,Udaipur, India）, showed good leaching efficiency along with nanoparticles（NPs） formation under ambient conditions. Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy（FT-IR） and transmission electron microscopy（TEM） confirmed the formation of NPs. Energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy（EDX analysis） showed strong signals for zinc, iron, calcium and magnesium,with these materials being leached out. TEM analysis and high resolution transmission electron microscopy（HRTEM） showed semi-quasi spherical particles having average size of 10‐50 nm. Thus, a novel biomethodology was developed using fungal cell-free extract for bioleaching and subsequently nanoconversion of the waste materials into nanostructured form. These biosynthesized nanoparticles were tested for their efficacy on seed emergence activity of wheat（Triticum aestivum） seeds and showed enhanced growth at concentration of 20 ppm. These nanomaterials are expected to enhance plant growth properties and being targeted as additives in soil fertility and crop productivity enhancement.
