The rise of the Internet and identity authentication systems has brought convenience to people's lives but has also introduced the potential risk of privacy *** biometric authentication systems based on explicit and static features bear the risk of being attacked by mimicked *** work proposes a highly efficient biometric authentication system based on transient eye blink signals that are precisely captured by a neuromorphic vision sensor with microsecond-level temporal *** neuromorphic vision sensor only transmits the local pixel-level changes induced by the eye blinks when they occur,which leads to advantageous characteristics such as an ultra-low latency *** first propose a set of effective biometric features describing the motion,speed,energy and frequency signal of eye blinks based on the microsecond temporal resolution of event *** then train the ensemble model and non-ensemble model with our Neuro Biometric dataset for biometrics *** experiments show that our system is able to identify and verify the subjects with the ensemble model at an accuracy of 0.948 and with the non-ensemble model at an accuracy of *** low false positive rates(about 0.002)and the highly dynamic features are not only hard to reproduce but also avoid recording visible characteristics of a user's *** proposed system sheds light on a new path towards safer authentication using neuromorphic vision sensors.

To analyse the risk factors of relapse before bone marrow transplantation (BMT) and to present the prognostic information as good as *** A total of 3142 patients, who underwent the allogeneic blood or bone marrow tran sp lantation between 1989 and 1997 and were documented in the European Group for Bl ood and Marrow transplantation (EBMT), were included. Six possible risk factors including type of donor, stage of disease, age, gender, donor? recipient sex co mbination and the waiting time from diagnosis to transplation of relapse were co nsidered. The time to relapse was analysed by Kaplan Meier curves and Cox regre ssion with stratification on prognostic factors that did not satisfy the Proport ional Hazard *** An amount of 447 patients relapsed out of all 3142 patients. The relapse rate wa s 14.2%. Type of donor and stage of disease showed a clear prognostic effect, bu t failed the proportional hazard assumption. Therefore, the data were stratified on the combination of type of donor and stage of disease. Within these strata a n additional significant effect of age could be observed. Relative risk of age ≥40 vs age <40 was 1.32 (95% confidence interval 1.09-1.59). The prognostic model is summarized *** The combination of type of donor, stage of disease and age of recipient at tr ansplantation are important prognostic factors for relapse after BMT.

Advanced deep learning technology has made great progress in generic object detection of autonomous driving,yet it is still challenging to detect small road hazards in a long distance owing to lack of large-scale small-object datasets and dedicated *** work addresses the challenge from two ***,a self-collected long-distance road object dataset(TJ-LDRO)is introduced,which consists of 109,337 images and is the largest dataset so far for the small road object detection ***,a vanishing-point-guided context-aware network(VCANet)is proposed,which utilizes the vanishing point prediction block and the context-aware center detection block to obtain semantic *** multi-scale feature fusion pipeline and the upsampling block in VCANet are introduced to enhance the region of interest(ROI)*** experimental results with TJ-LDRO dataset show that the proposed method achieves better performance than the representative generic object detection *** work fills a critical capability gap in small road hazards detection for high-speed autonomous vehicles.

Li_(3)FeF_(6)has been the focus of research of fluorine-based cathode materials for lithium-ion *** of the low electronic conductivity of Li3 FeF6,the decrease of particle size,by an energyconsuming long-time ball milling process with carbon,is necessary to achieve a high electrochemical *** most successful method to enhance electrochemical activity,carbon coating,seemed to be impracticable,so far,for sensitive fluorides like Li3 *** this work,carbon coating on Li3 FeF6 particles has been successfully achieved for the first time,while avoiding both extended hydrolysis and Fe(Ⅲ)-Fe(Ⅱ)*** heat treatment and atmosphere,yielding the maximal transformation of organic carbon to both graphitised and disordered carbon,has been *** coating,with a thickness of approximately 2.5 nm,has been achieved by controlled thermal decomposition of glucose,under air,at 300℃.Raman and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)experiments have proved the existence of carbon and Fe2O3 on the surface of Li3FeF6 *** spectroscopy indicates the presence of organic residues from glucose *** to further reduce the orga nic carbon content results in a decrease of the amorphous carbon coating *** carbon-coated Li3 FeF6 nanoparticles deliver 122 mA h g^(-1)(85%of theoretical capacity)significantly higher than that of a noncoated sample(58 mA h g^(-1)).Even more,a significant beneficial effect of carbon coating on both capacity retention and coulombic efficiency is observed.

The Changing Image of the Ottoman Turks in the Habsburg Monarchy During the 18th Century

The old-aged confrontation between “East” and “West”, between “civilization” and “barbarism”, between “Christianity” and “Islam” came to new heights in the early modern times and found its arena in Central Europe. Since the late 15th century, the Ottoman Turks had been feared as menace, as the most dreadful enemies not only of the inhabitants of the Habsburg ruled countries but of the whole world of Christianity, and the Ottoman Turks did pose a permanent threat to their neighbours in Central Europe. The situation changed around 1700 when the Habsburgs succeeded in integrating the entire Hungarian Kingdom into their empire. From the early 18th century onwards the Ottoman Turks were no longer regarded as fierce fighters but increasingly as neighbours living in an unknown and totally different world and gained more and more curious attention. This change was not only the consequence of the new balance in power politics but mainly a sequel of gaining much more information. Up to the late 17th century the knowledge about the Ottoman Turks was based primarily on what had been reported by ambassadors travelling to Constantinople while in the 18th century people of several strands of life reported about their experiences. After the Peace of Passarowitz in 1718 trade agreements between the two states enabled activities of merchants and tradesmen who learned to know things about their eastern neighbours which were totally new to the Middle European contemporaries. Additionally, some elements of this ＂oriental＂ culture were taken over and were to become typical for Central Europe later on. The Turks were curiously observed as strange and fascinating neighbours. In the course of the movement of enlightenment from the middle of the 18th century onwards one aspect of this culture lost much of its dreadfulness： the fact that the Ottoman Turks were infidels. So it did not take very long until Ottomans were seen as being capable of true humanity regardless their religion. In the 19

A theoretical “drift-flux based thermal-hydraulic mixture-fluid coolant channel model” is presented. It is the basis to a corresponding digital “Coolant Channel Module (CCM)”. This purpose derived “Separate-Region Mixture Fluid Approach” should yield an alternative platform to the currently dominant “Separate-Phase Models” where each phase is treated separately. Contrary to it, a direct procedure could be established with the objective to simulate in an as general as possible way the steady state and transient behaviour of characteristic parameters of single- and/or (now non-separated) two-phase fluids flowing within any type of heated or non-heated coolant channels. Their validity could be confirmed by a wide range of verification and validation runs, showing very satisfactory results. The resulting universally applicable code package CCM should provide a fundamental element for the simulation of thermal-hydraulic situations over a wide range of complex systems (such as different types of heat exchangers and steam generators as being applied in both conventional but also nuclear power stations, 1D and 3D nuclear reactor cores etc). Thereby the derived set of equations for different coolant channels (distinguished by their key numbers) as appearing in these systems can be combined with other ODE-s and non-linear algebraic relations from additional parts of such an overall model. And these can then to be solved by applying an appropriate integration routine. Within the solution procedure, however, mathematical discontinuities can arise. This due to the fact that along such a coolant channel transitions from single- to two-phase flow regimes and vice versa could take place. To circumvent these difficulties it will in the presented approach be proposed that the basic coolant channel (BC) is subdivided into a number of sub-channels (SC-s), each of them being occupied exclusively by only a single or a two-phase flow regime.
