Ground beetles a.d a.a.hnids (spiders a.d ha.vestmen) were used a. indica.ors of invertebra.e biodiversity a.d ca.ght using pitfa.l tra.s over two yea.s. Biodiversity mea.urements used were species richness, bioma.s, a.unda.ce, Simpson’s Index, a.d ra.ity va.ues. The Misca.thus pla.ta.ion ha. a.significa.tly lower ground beetle a.d a.a.hnid species richness, bioma.s a.d a.unda.ce tha. a. a.ja.ent mixed-use a.a.le field a.d a.significa.tly lower ground beetle bioma.s a.d a.unda.ce tha. a. a.ja.ent gra.sla.d. Reduced weed vegeta.ion a.d la.k of insects tha. feed on Misca.thus a.e likely to be significa.t fa.tors. The findings contra.ict the conclusions of a.previous study of Misca.thus impa.t on butterflies. This is the first ma.or study to a.sess the in-crop biodiversity of a. esta.lished pla.ta.ion a.d shows tha. Misca.thus invertebra.e biodiversity is poor in esta.lished pla.ta.ions, when compa.ed to a.ja.ent conventiona. a.ricultura. la.d-uses.

Resea.ch sta.ion a.d exposed to sa.inity stress condition a. the Experimenta. Fa.m of El-hosa.nia.pla.n a.ricultura. Resea.ch sta.ion, Elsha.kia.Governora.e, Egypt, in a. a.tempt to identify the rela.ive sa.inity tolera.t genotypes. a.susceptibility index (SI) wa. used to estima.e the rela.ive stress loss beca.se it a.counted for va.ia.ion in yield potentia. a.d stress intensity. Giza.123, Line-1, Line-5, Line-6 a.d Line-8 genotypes were considered a. sa.ine tolera.t genotypes on the ba.is of their highly tolera.ce indices va.ues. Ba.ley genotypes were cha.a.terized by seven SSR ma.kers a.d three SCoT primers in different combina.ions to discern the extent of genetic va.ia.ion a.d develop a.fingerprinting key. Norma. SCoT rea.tions a.plify single segments of DNa.which a.e 15- to 19-mer long. a.new stra.egy wa. used to increa.e SCoT potentia. in genetic diversity studies by using two a.d three different primer combina.ions per rea.tion. a.plifica.ion products scored a.polymorphism percenta.e of 94.44% for Triple-SCoT a.d 90.91% for SSR, while the a.era.e no. of polymorphic fra.ments/primer wa. 17 a.d 7.14 in the two ma.ker systems, respectively. On the other side, Triple-SCoT exhibited the highest a.era.e number of positive a.d nega.ive genotype-specific ma.kers. The cluster a.a.ysis of the studied genotypes using these different ma.ker systems revea.ed four dendrogra.s va.ied in their topology. The dendrogra. ba.ed on Triple-SCoT da.a.exhibited the closest rela.ionships to those illustra.ed by SSR dendrogra..

The a.sessment on the trea.ed wood a.d the resulting la.ina.ed wood covered some cha.a.teristics i. e., wetta.ility, sta.ic bending, bonding strength, a.d dela.ina.ion. The results show tha. boiling trea.ment in etha.ol-wa.er solution ca. improve wetting properties significa.tly. The extra.tive does not a.fect mecha.ica. cha.a.teristics of the la.ina.ed wood.
