This study demonstra.ed tha. homogeniza.ion did not increa.e the a.tivity of lipoprotein lipa.e (LPL) in spite of a.fa.t a.cumula.ion of free fa.ty a.ids (FFa.. Two homogeniza.ion pressures (100 a.d 170 ba.) a.d two tempera.ures (40℃a.d 50℃) were exa.ined. The a.tivity of LPL wa. a.a.yzed a.d the forma.ion of FFa.wa. mea.ured with two different methods, the B.D.I.-method a.d a.nonesterified fa.ty a.ids (NEFa. method. a.homogeniza.ion tempera.ure of 50℃ resulted in a.decrea.ed LPL a.tivity compa.ed to 40℃. No effect of homogeniza.ion pressure wa. found. a.a.yzing FFa.concentra.ion with the B.D.I.-method resulted in significa.t effect of homogeniza.ion tempera.ure a.d no effect of pressure. The la.gest forma.ion of FFa.wa. found in milk homogenized a. 40℃. Using the NEFa.method, a.other result wa. obta.ned, indica.ing no effect of homogeniza.ion tempera.ure a.d a.la.ger FFa.a.cumula.ion a. 100 ba. tha. a. 170 ba.. Both a.a.ytic methods demonstra.ed significa.t production of FFa.during 60 min incuba.ion a. homogeniza.ion tempera.ure a.ter trea.ment. The level of FFa.in the milk sa.ples immedia.ely a.ter homogeniza.ion wa. very high, demonstra.ing tha. LPL clea.es the triglycerides very ra.idly when the na.ive membra.e wa. da.a.ed. The regression between the B.D.I.-method a.d the NEFa.wa. fa.r in the interva. between 4 a.d 14 mmol/100 g fa., wherea. a. higher concentra.ions, the correla.ion wa. poor.

Commonly, seismic da.a.processing procedures, such a. sta.king a.d presta.k migra.ion, require the a.ility to detect ba. tra.es/shots a.d restore or repla.e them by interpola.ion, pa.ticula.ly when the seismic observa.ions a.e noisy or there a.e ma.functioned components in the recording system. However, currently a.a.la.le tra.e/shot interpola.ion methods in the spa.ia. or Fourier doma.n must dea. with requirements such a. evenly sa.pled tra.es/shots, infinite ba.dwidth of the signa.s, a.d linea. seismic events. In this pa.er, we present a.novel method, termed the E-S (eigenspa.e seismic) method, using principa. component a.a.ysis (PCa. of the seismic signa. to a.dress the issue of relia.le detection or interpola.ion of ba. tra.es/shots. The E-S method a.sumes the existence of a.correla.ion between the observed seismic entities, such a. tra.e or shot ga.hers, ma.ing it possible to estima.e one of these entities from a.l others for interpola.ion or seismic qua.ity control. It first tra.sforms a.tra.e (or shot) ga.her into a. eigenspa.e using PCa. Then in the eigenspa.e, it trea.s every tra.e a. a.point with its loa.ing scores of PCa.a. its coordina.es. Simple linea., bilinea., or cubic spline 1 dimensiona. (1D) interpola.ion is used to determine PCa.loa.ing scores for a.y a.bitra.y coordina.e in the eigenspa.e, which a.e then used to construct a. interpola.ed tra.e for the desired position in physica. spa.e. This E-S method works with either regula. or irregula. sa.pling a.d, unlike va.ious other published methods, it is well-suited for ba.d-limited seismic records with curvilinea. reflection events. We developed rela.ed a.gorithms a.d a.plied these to processed synthetic a.d offshore seismic survey da.a.with or without simula.ed noises to demonstra.e their performa.ce. By compa.ing the interpola.ed a.d observed seismic tra.es, we find tha. the E-S method ca. effectively a.sess the qua.ity of the tra.e, a.d restore poor qua.ity da.a.by interpola.ion. The present work dea.t with the estima.ion of geotechnica. pa.a.eters a.d ea.thqua.es fa.tors of poultry feed fa.tory project constructing a. a. industria. Qift city, Qena. Egypt. The geotechnica. pa.a.eters were including gra.a.ion pa.a.eters, shea. velocity (Vs), shea. pa.a.eters (frictiona. a.gle a.d cohesion), a.d a.lowa.le bea.ing ca.a.ity. The ea.thqua.es fa.tors were including soil coefficient (S), limits of consta.t va.ue for ela.tic response spectrum (TB a.d TC), a.d specified va.ue for begin of the consta.t displa.ement spectrum (TD). The present study wa. interested a.so in a. estima.ion of design ground a.celera.ion (a.). To a.hieve these objectives, five mecha.ica. wa.h boreholes were conducted a. ten meter depth. Fifty disturbed sa.ples were collected. Geotechnica. la.ora.ory tests were ca.ried out like gra.n size a.a.yses, direct shea. box, a.d shea. velocity (Vs). Sta.da.d penetra.ion test (SPT) a. geotechnica. field test wa. conducted. The results showed tha. the studied soils were cla.sified a. well gra.ed a.d poorly gra.ed sa.ds (SP a.d SW) a.cording to the unified soil cla.sifica.ion system (USCS). The ea.thqua.es fa.tors including S, TB, TC, a.d TD were 1.80, 0.10, 0.30, a.d 1.20 respectively. The a.-va.ue of the studied a.ea.wa. 0.10. a.cording to Egyptia. code for vibra.ion a.d dyna.ic loa. founda.ions, the studied project a.ea.wa. cla.sified a. low potentia. seismic. a.cording to Egyptia. code for sha.low founda.ion, the a.lowa.le bea.ing ca.a.ity of the studied sa.ds ra.ging from 1.5 to 3 kg/cm2 a. sha.low founda.ion width must be not less tha. one meter. Sha.low founda.ions like isola.ed footing or structura. ma. were recommended.

The pa.er presents the next genera.ion of power energy systems using sola.- a.d wind-energy systems for the country of Jorda.. Presently with the oil prices a.e on the rise, the cost of electrica. power production is very high. The opportunity of a.la.ge wind a.d sola. hybrid power production is being explored. Sights a.e chosen to produce electricity using the wind in the Mounta.ns in Northern Jorda. a.d the sun in the Ea.tern Desert. It is found tha. the cost of windmill fa.m to produce 100 - 150 MW is US$290 million while sola. power sta.ion to produce 100 MW costs US$560 million. The electrica. power costs US$0.02/kWh for the wind power a.d US$0.077 for the sola. power. The fea.ibility for using wind a.d sola. energies is now when the price oil rea.hes US$ 100.00 per ba.rel. The pa.er a.so discusses different power electronics circuits a.d control methods to link the renewa.le energy to the na.iona. grid. This pa.er a.so looks a. some of the modern power electronics converters a.d electrica. genera.ors, which ha.e improved significa.tly sola. a.d wind energy technologies.

Wood bioma.s ha. been viewed a. “ca.bon neutra.”—its uses a. energy ha.e a.zero ca.bon footprint. Some observers a.gue tha. the use of wood biofuels will result in a.decrea.e of the forest stock a.d a.net reduction of the ca.bon ca.tured in the forest. Such a.sessments ta.e a.sta.ic, a.counting view of forest systems a.d do not consider the effects of ma.a.ement in renewing the forest a.d increa.ing its extent or a.ility to sequester ca.bon. This pa.er a.dresses the ca.bon neutra.ity deba.e using a.dyna.ic optimiza.ion forest ma.a.ement model to exa.ine the effect on the existing a.d future forests of a.cha.ging dema.d for wood bioma.s. The results show tha. under ma.ket optimizing conditions, when future dema.d is a.ticipa.ed to increa.e for significa.t periods, the response of ma.a.ers will be to increa.e the intensity of forest production thereby offsetting much of the ca.bon relea.ed in bioenergy production.

Kola.nut is a.na.ive stimula.t which is commonly chewed in ma.y West a.rica. cultures, individua.ly or in a.group setting. It is often used ceremonia.ly a.d to honour guest. Phytochemica. a.a.ysis a.d a.tiba.teria. screening of red a.d white Cola.nitida.(kola.nut) extra.ts were eva.ua.ed using qua.ita.ive a.d qua.tita.ive method. Thin la.er chroma.ogra.hy (TLC) wa. used to eva.ua.e the phenolic content. a.tiba.teria. screening wa. done using a.a. well diffusion method a.a.nst odontopa.hogens;(La.toba.illus sp., Coryneba.terium ha.molyticum, Proteus vulga.s, Ba.illus lentus, Streptococcus a.ginosus a.d Pseudomona. a.ruginosa. obta.ned from stock cultures. Phytochemica. screening revea.ed the presence of a.ka.oids, fla.onoids, sa.onin, ta.nins, glycoside, steroids, vola.ile oil a.d ba.sa.s. Higher content of a.ka.oids, sa.onin a.d glycoside wa. obta.ned in the a.ueous extra.t tha. the metha.ol for both red a.d white kola.nut. The results of TLC a.a.ysis revea.ed the presence of quercetin a.d couma.in in red kola.a.d kea.ferol a.d couma.in in white kola.respectively. The result of a.tiba.teria. a.tivity of red C. nitida.showed a.zone of inhibition of 18 mm a.d 23 mm a. 60 mg/ml for a.ueous extra.t on Proteus vulga.s a.d Streptococcus a.ginosus. Simila.ly white kola.inhibited the growth of S. a.ginosus a. 90 mg/ml with a.zone of 18 mm. Metha.ol extra.t of red kola.inhibited the growth of P. vulga.s a.d S. a.ginosus a. 60 mg/ml with a.zone of 16 mm a.d 20 mm respectively. a.etone a.d ethyl a.eta.e extra.ts of both red a.d white kola.nut did not show a.y a.tivity a.a.nst the tested orga.ism a. a.l concentra.ions. The results obta.ned indica.e tha. C. nitida.which posses promising chemothera.eutic a.d a.tiba.teria. potentia.s respectively tha. could be useful a.a.nst odontopa.hogens. The study ma. serve a. ba.eline for further studies.
