This study is planned to investigate the problems associated with the wasted sheep fleece in Jordan and to suggest methods to decrease its environmental impact. Results indicate that sheep fleece in Jordan makes an excellent resource for buildings insulation material. A linear regression model is used to predict sheep number for the period (2017-2030). Based on the predicted number of sheep an estimated annual average production of wool is found for the period (2017-2030) to be (3.586 × 10sup>3sup> ton). The average cost per kg of fleece produced is calculated to be 0.39 Jd, and the estimated price of fleece per head, if market is available for raw fleece, is 1 Jd. Average annual financial losses by farmers are calculated to be (3.743 × 10sup>6sup> Jd) for the period 2002-2016, and they were estimated to be (9.421 × 10sup>6sup> Jd) for the years 2017-2030. Physical characteristics of sheep-wool are presented and compared to other competitive insulation materials (polystyrene and rockwool). sustainability of sheep-wool production to be utilized as an insulation material is found to be an excellent solution to the huge waste of wool with respect to farmers and National income and to the problems associated with environmental impact. Results can be generalized to similar cases worldwide.

There are few studies on the size and changes in species composition over time for wetlands in south Africa. Techniques such as remote sensing have become popular in assisting the development of management plans due to their spatio-temporal advantages and easily reproducible vegetation and land cover maps. The Wakkerstroom wetland was examined using aerial photography to examine possible changes in the extent and landsat imaging was used to map its vegetation communities. To assess the distribution of vegetation types on Wakkerstroom wetland, in situ recording of vegetation types and their GPs coordinates was conducted and a Random Forest model was used to predict vegetation types from landsat pixel spectra across the wetland extent. As calculated from aerial photographs, the Wakkerstroom wetland has increased in extent by 0.483 km2 from 1938 to 2009. The P. australis population density increased significantly over time (r = 0.89), whereas the T. capensis population density had a strong negative correlation over time (r = -0.70). A strong negative relationship between P. australis and T. capensis existed (r = -0.88). A need exists to introduce a management tool that will create a greater mosaic of vegetation communities thus ensuring a greater bird, reptile, and amphibian diversity.

In this study, a point source mathematical model is proposed to describe the diffusion of adenosine di-phosphate (AdP) from either damaged red blood cell (RBC) or activated platelet. The convective diffusion equation is reduced to describe the suggested problem. The final differential equation is solved using laplace transforms and AdP concentration profiles around the source are obtained. Thrombi of 5 to 20 μmsup>3sup> containing platelets and a range of red blood cells (RBCs) (0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%) concentrations are used to apply the model. Reported AdP concentrations in the literature are used and its dynamic release from the point source is calculated. Results suggest that RBC chemical contribution to platelet aggregation in the bulk is much less than that of platelet (almost) negligible. However, the physical effect of RBCs is dominant in the bulk through augmentation of released AdP and platelets diffusivities. Moreover, the chemical contribution reported in previous studies is suggested to be as a result of interaction of RBC with the surface under the influence of shear stresses in the boundary region.

There is plenty of data confirming that hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection is a predisposing factor for a B-cell non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (B-NHl) outbreak, while relatively few reports have addressed the role of HCV in affecting B-NHl patients' outcome. HCV infection may influence the short-term outcome of B-NHl because of the emergence of severe hepatic toxicity (HT) during immunochemotherapy. Furthermore, the long term outcome of HCV-related liver disease and patients' quality of life will possibly be affected by Rituximab maintenance, multiple-lines of toxicity during chemotherapy and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. In this review, data dealing with aggressive and low-grade B-NHl were separately analyzed. The few retrospective papers reporting on aggressive B-NHl patients showed that HCV infection is a risk factor for the outbreak of severe HT during treatment. This adverse event not infrequently leads to the reduction of treatment density and intensity. Existing papers report that low-grade B-NHl patients with HCV infection may have a more widespread disease, more frequent relapses or a lower ORR compared to HCV-negative patients. Notwithstanding, there is no statistical evidence that the prognosis of HCV-positive patients is inferior to that of HCV-negative subjects. HCV-positive prospective studies and longer follow-up are necessary to ascertain if HCV-positive B-NHl patients have inferior outcomes and if there are long term sequels of immunochemotherapies on the progression of liver disease.

several protein sources can be used to produce bioactive peptides with angiotensin I-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibittory activity. Protein concentrates from ungerminated and germinated lima bean Phaseolus lunatus seed flours were hydrolyzed with Alcalase 2.4 l or pepsin-pancreatin sequential hydrolysis, and ACE inhibitory activity measured in the different hydrolysis treatments. Protein hydrolysate production was analyzed with a 23 factorial design with four replicates of the central treatment. Evaluated factors were protein concentrate source (ungerminated seeds, PC1;germinated seeds, PC2), enzyme/substrate ratio E/s (1/50 or 1/10) and hydrolysis time (0.5 or 2.0 h for Alcalase;1 or 3 h for pepsin-pancreatin). degree of hydrolysis (dH) was high for the Alcalase hydrolysates (24.12% 58.94%), but the pepsin-pancreatin hydrolysates exhibited the highest ACE inhibitory activity (IC50 = 0.250 0.692 mg/ml). Under the tested conditions, the hydrolysates with the highest ACE inhibitory activity were produced with sequential pepsin-pancreatin using either PC1 at 1 h hydrolysis time and a 1/10 E/s ratio or PC2 at 1 h hydrolysis time and a 1/50 E/s ratio. lima bean protein hydrolysates prepared with Alcalase or pepsin-pancreatin are a potential ingredient in the production of physiologically functional foods with antihypertensive activity.

The ilama tree (Annona diversifolia saff.) is an underutilized fruit species from Mesoamerica with a noteworthy variability in southern Mexico. The present study describes differences in knowledge and appreciation of the fruit among inhabitants from different communities in southern Mexico, as well as differences among their ilama trees. The study took place in Tierra Caliente, a region located in the states of Guerrero and the state of Mexico. Interviews were administered in three different communities as an attempt to associate the natural morphologic variation of plants and locals’ knowledge and use of the tree in order to identify their implications for conservation. data were analyzed by multivariate analysis, and the results suggest that the morphological variation of the plants and the commercial importance of ilama are well known by locals. Indigenous community inhabitants prefer and select only white pulp trees, whereas mestizo communities promote and conserve plants with white, red, purple, and blue pulp. Germplasm flow is dynamic in the region, and ilama fruit represents a different economic value for each community. selling the fruit is the primary goal, but not specifically its conservation and promotion. Implications for in situ conservation of ilama in Mexico are discussed.

Introduction: International migration has always existed, primarily as a means to find economic opportunity. Recently, the number of health care professionals seeking to work outside Albania is growing rapidly. In 2021 alone, 1073 nurses left Albania. The departure of health care professionals is reflected in education where it can be observed that a good part of the students who finished the bachelor’s level program did not enroll to continue the second level of study in the master’s. The student’s decision not to continue further levels of education has brought consequences from programs shutting down due to lack of students and forcing the university to spread out the few remaining students to other programs. Objective: The purpose of the study was to explore the opinions of Midwifery students studying at the Bachelor level, regarding their professional future and continuing education. Methodology: This is a cross-sectional study. In this study are included the students of the bachelor level of education. student participating are studying Midwifery in the 2022-2023 academic year, at the Faculty of Technical Medical sciences at the University of Medicine, Albania. Results: The students on average believe they can find a job as a midwife. The career is relatively safe and the profession of midwifery will ensure economic well-being for them. Most of the students hope to emigrate and develop their professional career outside of Albania. This was a surprise given that most frequent answers given by the students for not continuing their Master’s level education was the fact that the program was not accredited, their Bachelor’s diploma was also not accredited and so not recognized by other countries, the cost of continuing their studies was too high and their desire for a better economic and social status which they cannot get in Albania. Objective:To assess the knowledge on Zika virus(ZIKV) infection among healthcare providers(doctors) in Aceh province,***:A self-administered internet based survey was conducted from 3 May to 3 June 2016 among the members of doctor organizations in Aceh province.A set of validated,pre-tested questionnaire was used to measure knowledge regarding ZIKV infection and to collect a range of explanatory variables.A two-steps logistic regression analysis was employed to assess the association of participants' demographic,workplace characteristics and other explanatory variables with the ***:A total of 442 participants included in the final analysis and 35.9% of them(159) had a good knowledge on ZIKV *** model revealed that type of occupation,type of workplace,availability of access to medical journals and experience made Zika disease as differential diagnose were associated with knowledge on ZIKV *** addition,three significant source of information regarding ZIKV were online media(60%),medical article or medical news(16.2%) and television(13.2%).Conclusion:The knowledge of the doctors in Aceh regarding ZIKV infection is relatively *** who have a good knowledge on ZIKV infection are more confident to established ZIKV disease as differential diagnosis in their clinical ***,such program to increase healthcare providers' knowledge regarding ZIKV infection is needed to screen potential carriers of ZIKV infection.

The use of flours or phenolic extracts obtained from non-traditional sources or agri-food industry by-products has been a strategy used to formulate new bakery products with characteristics of a functional ***,phenolic compounds present great structural diversity,as well as the ability to interact in a complex way with the macromolecules that constitute the bread ***,the addition of these flours,extracts or pure compounds produces various effects on the microstructure of bread,and several of its sensory *** is mainly due to interactions between phenolic compounds and gluten *** objective of this review is to analyze some of the most recent published works on the addition of phenolic compounds in wheat bread to identify the type of positive and negative effects that have been observed and how they can be related to the physicochemical interactions between phenolic compounds and the macromolecules that constitute the food matrix,mainly *** effect of monomeric and polymeric phenolic compounds on the strength of these interactions and on the properties of dough and bread are discussed.
