对比分析2005～2008年五种再分析资料和东南极地区气象站实测的日平均2m气温，结果表明：五种再分析资料都能够解释超过70％的方差，年均方根误差为3．4～6．9℃．三种nOAA再分析资料nCEP-1，nCEP．2和20CRv2呈现冷偏差（分别为-2．5，-1．4和-1．5℃），ERAInterim和JCDAS呈现暖偏差（分别为1．7和2．0℃）．五种再分析气温通常在（南半球）春季适用性强，冬、秋季适用性差；在海拔2800m高原内陆EAGLE地区适用性最强，在东南极冰盖最高点DomeA地区适用性最差．ERAInterim适用性优于其他再分析资料，可能源于其4D同化体系；三种nOAA再分析资料适用性最差，因为其同化体系更多地受控于有限的观测资料，20CRv2同化数据更少，仅仅同化了表面气压观测资料．虽然再分析气温具有一定的不足和局限性，但是，仍然不失为南极地区气候研究的有效工具．在南极，尤其是在广袤的南极内陆地区，进一步加强更多的实地观测显得尤为重要．

Mammary gland growth and vascularity at parturition and during lactation in primiparous ewes fed differing levels of selenium and nutritional plane during gestation

Background： Objectives were to examine the effects of selenium （Se） supply and maternal nutritional plane during gestation on mammary gland growth, cellular proliferation, and vascularity at parturition and d 20 of lactation. Rambouillet primiparous ewes （n = 84） were allocated to treatments in a 2 x 3 factorial. Factors were dietary Se （adequate Se [ASe, 11.5 μg/kg BW] or high Se [HSe, 77.0 μg/kg BVV]） and nutritional plane （60% IRES], 100% [COn], or 140% [EXC]）. At parturition, lambs were removed and 42 ewes （7/treatment） were necropsied. Remaining ewes were fed a common diet meeting requirements for lactation and mechanically milked twice daily until necropsy on d 20. At both necropsy periods, mammary glands were dissected and tissues harvested. Samples were analyzed for RnA, DnA, and protein content, cell proliferation, and vascularity. Where interactions were present （P 〈 0.05）, least squares means from the highest-order interaction are presented. Results： Final body weight of ewes was least （P 〈 0.002） in RES, intermediate for COn, and greatest for EXC, regardless of stage of the ewe at necropsy （parturition or d 20 of lactation）. In ewes necropsied at parturition, mammary glands were heavier （P = 0.02） in EXC compared to RES, with COn intermediate. Concentration of RnA （rag/g） was decreased （P= 0.01） in EXC compared to COn at parturition. There was a tendency （P= 0.07） for a Se by nutrition interaction in percentage of cells proliferating where ASe-EXC ewes had greater （P_〈 0.02） number of proliferating cells then all other treatments. Mammary vascular area tended （P = 0.08） to be affected by a Se by nutrition interaction where ASe-COn had less （P= 0.007） vascular area than HSe-COn ewes. In ewes necropsied at d 20 of lactation, the number of alveoli per area was decreased （P 〈- 0.05） in RES compared to COn and EXC-fed ewes. Research into medical artificial intelligence(AI)has made significant advances in recent years,including surgical *** scoping review investigated AI-based decision support systems targeted at the intraoperative phase of surgery and found a wide range of technological approaches applied across several surgical *** the twenty-one(n=21)included papers,three main categories of motivations were identified for developing such technologies:(1)augmenting the information available to surgeons,(2)accelerating intraoperative pathology,and(3)recommending surgical *** many of the proposals hold promise for improving patient outcomes,important methodological shortcomings were observed in most of the reviewed papers that made it difficult to assess the clinical significance of the reported performance *** limitations,the current state of this field suggests that a number of opportunities exist for future researchers and clinicians to work on AI for surgical decision support with exciting implications for improving surgical care.

Weed Control with Sulfentrazone plus a Low Rate of Imazethapyr in White Bean

Ontario dry bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) growers have few options for broadleaf weed control. Sulfentrazone is a group 14 herbicide that provides good control of several common Ontario weed species, and would provide another mode of action for broadleaf weed control if registered for use in Ontario dry beans. Five field studies were conducted during 2014 and 2015 to determine if a low dose of imazethapyr added to a tank mix of sulfentrazone + s-metolachlor would improve broadleaf control in white bean. Sulfentrazone (140 and 210 g·ai·ha-1) was mixed with imazethapyr and s-metolachlor and evaluated at 2 and 4 weeks after crop emergence for crop injury. Weed control was assessed visually at 4 and 8 weeks after herbicide application (WAA), and weed stand counts and biomass were determined at 8 WAA. Seed moisture and yield were determined at harvest. At 8 WAA, sulfentrazone (140 g·ai·ha-1) controlled pigweed species, common ragweed, common lambsquarters, wild mustard, barnyard grass and green foxtail 100%, 4%, 100%, 2%, 86% and 62%, respectively. The addition of imazethapyr (37.5 g·ai·ha-1) to sulfentrazone (140 g·ai·ha-1) improved the control of common ragweed, wild mustard and green foxtail by 19%, 98% and 33%, respectively. The three-way tank mix of sulfentrazone (140 g·ai·ha-1) plus s-metolachlor (1050 g·ai·ha-1) plus imazethapyr (37.5 g·ai·ha-1) controlled pigweed species, common ragweed, common lambsquarters, wild mustard, barnyard grass and green foxtail 100%, 35%, 100%, 100%, 96% and 100%, respectively. The tank mixes evaluated caused unacceptably high levels of crop injury;this study does not support the registration of sulfentrazone plus s-metolachlor + imazethapyr for use in Ontario white bean.

Only one herbicide mode of action (ALS inhibitor) is currently available to Ontario dry bean producers for soil-applied broadleaf weed control. Four field studies were conducted over two years (2014, 2015) to examine the tolerance of four market classes of dry beans to sulfentrazone (210 and 420 g·ai·ha-1) and pyroxasulfone (100 and 200 g·ai·ha-1) applied alone and in combination. The registration of these two herbicides would provide Ontario dry bean producers with two additional modes of action for broadleaf weed control. Pyroxasulfone caused up to 23%, 6%, 7% and 10% injury in adzuki, kidney, small red Mexican and white bean, respectively;sulfentrazone caused up to 51%, 12%, 15% and 44% injury and the combination caused up to 90%, 23%, 29% and 62% injury, respectively. Kidney and small red Mexican bean density, height, seed moisture content and yield were not affected. Pyroxasulfone (200 g·ai·ha-1) + sulfentrazone (420 g·ai·ha-1) reduced adzuki and white bean density, shoot dry weight, height and yield. This study concludes that pyroxasulfone (100 g·ai·ha-1) + sulfentrazone (210 g·ai·ha-1) applied PRE can be safely used to control weeds in Ontario kidney and small red Mexican bean production.

Ontario dry bean growers are currently limited to ALS inhibitor herbicides for soilapplied broadleaf weed control;therefore another mode of action is needed. Sulfentrazone is a PPO inhibitor herbicide that has activity on some annual grass and broadleaf weed species. Four field trials were conducted over two years (2014, 2015) to determine the tolerance of four commonly grown dry bean market classes (adzuki, kidney, small red Mexican and white bean) to PRE applications of sulfentrazone at 140, 210, 280 and 420 g·ai·ha-1. Crop injury, plant height, plant density, shoot biomass, seed moisture content and yield were examined. Sulfentrazone (420 g·ai·ha-1) caused up to 74%, 22%, 30%, and 57% injury in adzuki, kidney, small red Mexican and white bean, respectively. Plant density, height and yield were not reduced for kidney or small red Mexican bean. Sulfentrazone (420 g·ai·ha-1) reduced white bean plant density, height and yield by 28%, 29% and 29%, respectively;and reduced adzuki bean plant density, height and yield by 51%, 34% and 57%, respectively. Overall, kidney and small red Mexican bean were the most tolerant to sulfentrazone, followed by white bean, and then adzuki. This study determined sulfentrazone applied PRE is safe for Ontario kidney bean and small red Mexican bean crops.

neuroscience researchers that wish to address compelling questions in psychopharmacology would benefit from the use of zebrafish, which have a behavioral repertoire that is rich and complex and that reflects many fundamental processes in humans, such as those that evoke anxiety. Zebrafish behavior is easily quantified in diverse test environments, but it is important to consider the conditions used to house the fish, prior to the behavioral testing, when designing experiments. Studies show that fish housed at high densities exhibit elevated cortisol levels as compared with fish housed at lower densities. The literature is less clear about the behavioral consequences of housing and handling. We examined the effects of housing (group versus paired) on several behavioral parameters. We observed that group-housed fish exhibited an anxious phenotype as evidenced by tank diving and meandering. Other more general indicators of movement and spatial navigation were unaffected by housing. This study focused on two specific housing environments, and the results support the need for continued research in this area to further elucidate the contributions of housing and handling on the subtleties of zebrafish behavioral markers.

Sulfentrazone plus a Low Rate of Halosulfuron for Weed Control in White Bean (<i>Phaseolus vulgaris</i>L.)

Halosulfuron was recently registered as the second soil-applied herbicide for broadleaf weed control in Ontario dry beans, but does not provide an alternative mode of action. Sulfentrazone is used to control broadleaf weeds in soybean and other pulse crops, and its registration for Ontario dry beans would provide a different mode of action for broadleaf weed control. Five field studies were conducted over two years (2014, 2015) to determine if the spectrum of broadleaf weed control is improved by adding a half-rate of halosulfuron to sulfentrazone PRE, and to determine the tolerance of white bean to sulfentrazone (140 or 210 g ai ha-1), s-metolachlor (1050 g ai ha-1), and halosulfuron (17.5 g ai ha-1) applied alone and in combination. Crop injury was assessed at 2 and 4 weeks after crop emergence. Weed control was assessed at 4 and 8 weeks after herbicide application (WAA), and weed density and biomass were determined at 8 WAA. Seed moisture and yield were determined at harvest. Halosulfuron added to sulfentrazone improved the control of Ambrosia artemisiifolia and Sinapis arvensis. Sulfentrazone + s-metolachlor + halosulfuron caused up to 23% crop injury. Therefore, this study concludes that sulfentrazone + s-metolachlor + halosulfuron provides broad spectrum weed control, but is too injurious to white bean for registration in Ontario.
