A Scalable Interconnection Scheme in Many-Core Systems

Recent architectures of multi-core systems may have a relatively large number of cores that typically ranges from tens to hundreds;therefore called many-core *** systems require an efficient interconnection network that tries to address two major ***,the overhead of power and area cost and its effect on ***,high access latency is caused by multiple cores’simultaneous accesses of the same shared *** paper presents an interconnection scheme called N-conjugate Shuffle Clusters(NCSC)based on multi-core multicluster architecture to reduce the overhead of the just mentioned *** eliminated the need for router devices and their complexity and hence reduced the power and area *** also resigned and distributed the shared caches across the interconnection network to increase the ability for simultaneous access and hence reduce the access *** intra-cluster communication,Multi-port Content Addressable Memory(MPCAM)is *** experimental results using four clusters and four cores each indicated that the average access latency for a write process is 1.14785±0.04532 ns which is nearly equal to the latency of a write operation in ***,it was demonstrated that the average read latency within a cluster is 1.26226±0.090591 ns and around 1.92738±0.139588 ns for read access between cores from different clusters.

Multicore systems oftentimes use multiple levels of cache to bridge the gap between processor and memory *** paper presents a new design of a dedicated pipeline cache memory for multicore processors called dual port content addressable memory(DPCAM).In addition,it proposes a new replacement algorithm based on hardware which is called a near-far access replacement algorithm(NFRA)to reduce the cost overhead of the cache controller and improve the cache access *** experimental results indicated that the latency for write and read operations are significantly less in comparison with a set-associative cache ***,it was shown that a latency of a read operation is nearly constant regardless of the size of ***,an estimation of the power dissipation showed that DPCAM consumes about 7%greater than a set-associative cache memory of the same *** results encourage for embedding DPCAM within the multicore processors as a small shared cache memory.

We numerically investigate the population dynamics in a single photon resonant three-level cascade and non-cascade energy level molecules at 532-nm wavelength. The time-dependent population in the energy levels in the presence of 100 ps(pico-second) and 100 ns(nano-second) laser pulses is described in the form of rate equations. We provide a brief idea of how the optical energy transfer takes place in the light-matter interaction and we also discuss the absorption as a function of pulse width and repetition rate. We also plot the z-scan transmittance curve as a function of number of excitation pulses participating in the absorption.

This paper presents an analytical solution for the interaction of electric potentials, electric displacements, elastic deformations, and thermoelasticity, and describes electromagnetoelastic responses and perturbation of the magnetic field vector in hollow structures （cylinder or sphere）, subjected to mechanical load and electric potential. The material properties, thermal expansion coefficient and magnetic permeability of the structure are assumed to be graded in the radial direction by a power law distribution. In the present model we consider the solution for the case of a hollow structure made of viscoelastic isotropic material, reinforced by elastic isotropic fibers, this material is considered as structurally anisotropic material. The exact solutions for stresses and perturbations of the magnetic field vector in FGM hollow structures are determined using the infinitesimal theory of magnetothermoelasticity, and then the hollow structure model with viscoelastic material is solved using the correspondence principle and Illyushin＇s approximation method. Finally, numerical results are carried out and discussed.

Male genital tract inflammation/infection and its impact on male fertility are still widely neglected in the workup of male fertility *** from inconsistent definitions of such inflammatory conditions which allow no adequate diagnosis and,consequently,no rational therapeutic approach,the role of bacterial infection,in particular by Chlamydia trachomatis,is also controversially *** reason for that may be insufficient tools of sperm analysis in many laboratories that only rely on basic semen parameters as sperm number,motility,and morphology,in best cases accompanied by determination of the concentration of leukocytes.

Objective:To evaluate the efficacy of using neural response telemetry(NRT)thresholds in predicting behavioural thresholds during programming of cochlear implant in prelingual ***:Prospective study of 28 cochlear implants implanted with Nucleus 24 cochlear *** recorded NRT-thresholds on electrode numbers 1,6,11,16 and 22 of the electrode array in each patient,the neural response thresholds were correlated with the behavioural map after six months of programming the ***:The mean neural response telemetry level was significantly higher than the mean threshold level(T-level)but lower than the comfortable level(C-level)in all the electrodes *** levels could statistically significantly predict T behavioural levels and comfortable behavioural levels,p<*** was a strong positive correlation between comfortable thresholds and neural response telemetry level measurements and behavioural threshold level and neural response telemetry threshold ***:There is a useful role for neural response telemetry values in predicting the behavioural threshold and comfortable values in prelingual *** the NRT values with behavioural observations can improve the programming of cochlear implants.

Objective: The management of traumatic facial nerve paralysis(FNP) has remained a controversial issue with conflicting findings arguing between surgical decompression and conservative ***, recent advances in endoscopic surgery may consolidate the management plan for this ***: This prospective clinical study included patients with posttraumatic FNP at a tertiary referral center. Patients were categorized in two main groups: surgical and conservative. Indications for surgery included patients with immediate and complete FNP, no improvement in facial function on medical treatment, with electroneurography showing >90% degeneration or electromyography showing fibrillation potential. Patients who did not satisfy this criterion received the conservative approach. The transcanal endoscopic approach(TEA) or endoscopic assisted transmastoid approach was performed for facial nerve decompression in the surgical ***: The main outcome was facial function improvement, assessed using the House Brackmann grading scale(HBGS) 6 months after surgery, and hearing state assessed using the air bone gap(ABG).Results: The study included 38 patients, of whom 15 underwent had surgical decompression and 23underwent conservative therapy. A significant improvement in facial nerve function from a mean of4.66 ± 0.97 to 1.71 ± 0.69(P = 0.001) and ABG from a median of 30(10-40) to 20(10-25)(P = 0.002)was ***: Decision-making in cases of traumatic FNP is critical. The geniculate ganglion and tympanic segment were the most commonly affected areas in FNP cases. The TEA represents the most direct and least invasive approach for this area.
