Difference between papillary and follicular thyroid carcinoma outcomes:an experience from Egyptian institution

Objective： Differentiated thyroid carcinomas （DTCs） are classified into papillary thyroid carcinoma （PTC） and follicular thyroid carcinoma （FTC）. DTCs are analyzed as a single group in clinical studies that investigated the prognostic factors and prognosis of these malignancies. However, the biological behaviors of these carcinomas significantly differ. In the present study, we aimed to detect differences in the outcomes between PTC and FTC in Mansoura University Hospital in Egypt. Methods： A total of ss8 patients with histologically proven thyroid carcinomas from January 2003 to December 2012 were retrospectively enrolled. The clinical and pathological data of patients were reviewed. Results： Large primary tumor size, lymph node involvement, extrathyroid extension, and distant metastasis were significant poor prognostic factors for overall survival （Os） in old PTC patients. Cox hazard analysis showed that the patient＇s age, extra thyroid extension, and distant metastasis were the only independent prognostic factors. In FTC patients, only the distant metastasis and degree of tumor invasion were significant poor prognostic factors in Os univariate analysis. However, these factors were nonsignificant in multivariate analysis. The 10-year Os rates were 97% and 89% for PTC and FTC, respectively （P=0.003）. The 10-year disease-free survival （DFs） rates were 77.2% in PTC vs. 65% in FTC （P=0.179）. Conclusion： The significant prognostic factors vary between the two types of DTCs. Therefore, PTC and FTC patients need to be analyzed and reported independently. PTC survival is widely and significantly affected by age, extrathyroid extension, and distant metastasis. By contrast, these factors were nonsignificant in FTC, which showed poorer survival than PTC.

Variable coefficients and Wick-type stochastic fractional coupled KdV equations are investigated. By using the mod- ified fractional sub-equation method, Hermite transform, and white noise theory the exact travelling wave solutions and white noise functional solutions are obtained, including the generalized exponential, hyperbolic, and trigonometric types.

This study addresses the formation of anisotropic compact star models in the background of f(T,T)gravity(where T and T represent the torsion and trace of the energy momentum tensor,respectively).f(T,T)gravity is an extension of the f(T)theory,and it allows a general non-minimal coupling between T and *** this setup,we apply Krori and Barua's solution to the static spacetime with the components ξ=Br^(2)+c and ψ=Ar^(2).To develop viable solutions,we select a well-known model f(T,T)=αT^(m)+βT+Ф(where α and β are coupling parameters,and Ф indicates the cosmological constant).We adopt the conventional matching of interior and exterior space time to evaluate the unknowns,which are employed in the stellar *** present a comprehensive discussion on the stellar properties to elaborate the anisotropic nature of compact stars corresponding to well-known models:PsRJ1416-2230,4U1608-52,CenX-3,EXO1785-248,and *** physical analysis,it is observed that the solution of compact spheres satisfy the acceptability criteria,and its models behave optimally and depict stability and consistency,in accordance with f(T,T)gravity.

In order to prevent any arbitrary subsets of coalition in rational secret sharing, we propose a new oneway information transmission mechanism, every player in a rational secret sharing protocol only interacts with his around two players, which means his decision is strictly based on previous neighboring player’s strategy. Combined with the punishment strategy of Maleka’s scheme and payoff distribution principle in Game Theory, our scheme is capable of achieving Nash equilibrium and has the feature of anti-coalition. For the conspirators, getting the secret at the same time or in less than necessary iteration rounds is almost impossible. Without repeated involvement of the dealer, our scheme has the features of verifiability, anticoalition, and more meaningfully, superiority of approaching reality model by taking rational behavior into consideration.

We present a statistical distribution of a nanorobot motion inside the *** distribution is like the distribution of A and B particles in continuous time random walk scheme inside the fAuid reactive anomalous transport with stochastic waiting time depending on the Gaussian distribution and a Gaussian jump length which is detailed in Zhang and Li[***,Published Online with doi:10.1007/s10955-018-2185-8,2018].Rather than estimating the length parameter of the jumping distance of the nanorobot,we normalize the Probability Density Function(PDF)and present some reliability properties for this *** addition,we discuss the truncated version of this distribution and its statistical properties,and estimate its length *** use the estimated distance to study the conditions that give a finite expected value of the first meeting time between this nanorobot in the case of nonlinear flow with independent d-dimensional Gaussian jumps and an independent d-dimensional CD4 T Brownian cell in the blood(d-space)to prevent the HIV virus from proliferating within this cell.

Comparison of transvaginal cervical length and modified Bishop's score as predictors for labor induction in nulliparous women

Objective: To compare the transvaginal cervical length (TVCL) to the modified Bishop's score for prediction of successful labor induction in nulliparous women. Methods: A total of 210 nulliparous women who were diagnosed as premature rupture of membranes were recruited in this comparative prospective study, which was carried out in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department of Ain shams University, Egypt over two years for labor induction. The studied women were examined by trans-vaginal ultrasound for measurement of the cervical length (CL) and vaginally to calculate the modified Bishop's score, followed by induction of labor. Collected data were analyzed to compare the TVCL to the modified Bishop's score for prediction of successful labor induction in nulliparous women. The success of induction process was defined as vaginal birth after the induction of labor. Results: One hundred and forty-three women of studied women had CL six women of studied women had modified Bishop's score >4;128 of them delivered vaginally (P=0.006). The CL s significantly more specific with more positive predictive value as predictor of successful labor induction compared to modified Bishop's score. Induction to delivery time was significantly shorter in women with CL s significantly shorter in women with Bishop's score >4 than women with Bishop's score of 曑4 (P=0.01;95% confidence interval: 1.6-4.5). Conclusions: Both TVCL and the modified Bishop's score are complementary tools in pre-induction cervical assessment before induction of labor, while the TVCL at s significantly more specific with more positive predictive value as predictor of successful induction than the modified Bishop's score.

Plant secondary metabolites play vital role in plant stress response. In this study we investigated whether root colonization of tomato （solanum lycopersicum） infected by Trichoderma harzianum leads to alterations in the biosynthesis of secondary plant metabolites including phytohormones and osmolyte proline under drought stress. Exposure of tomato to drought caused a drastic decline in plant growth and physiological parameters. Tomato inoculated with T. harzianum showed increased root and shoot growth and chlorophyll pigments as compared to uninoculated controls as well as drought stressed plants. Proline and total soluble protein content was increased in plants inoculated with T. harzianum under both normal as well as drought conditions. An obvious increase in phenol and flavonoid content was observed due to T. haczianum. In addition, T. hat-zianum inoculated plants maintained higher levels of growth regulators indole acetic acid, indole butyric acid, and gibberellic acid under drought stress. Improved secondary metabolites which play an important role in plant stress tolerance by T. hat-zianum may have coordinately worked for bringing the growth regulation by protecting membranes from reactive oxygen species （ROs） and enhance plant growth through accessing more nutrients by root system.
