Background:The period following pregnancy is a critical time window when future habits with respect to physical activity(PA) and sedentary behavior(SB) are established;therefore,it warrants *** purpose of this scoping review was to summarize public health-oriented country-specific postpartum PA and SB guidelines ***:To identity guidelines published since 2010,we performed a(a) systematic search of 4 databases(CINAHL,Global Health,Pubmed,and SPORTDiscus),(b) structured repeatable web-based search separately for 194 countries,and(c) separate web-based *** the most recent guideline was included for each ***:We identified 22 countries with public health-oriented postpartum guidelines for PA and 11 countries with SB *** continents with guidelines included Europe(n=12),Asia(n=5),Oceania(n=2),Africa(n=1),North America(n=1),and South America(n=1).The most common benefits recorded for PA included weight control/management(n=10),reducing the risk of postpartum depression or depressive symptoms(n=9),and improving mood/well-being(n=8).Postpartum guidelines specified exercises to engage in,including pelvic floor exercises(n=17);muscle strengthening,weight training,or resistance exercises(n=13);aerobics/general aerobic activity(n=13);walking(n=11);cycling(n=9);and swimming(n=9).Eleven guidelines remarked on the interaction between PA and breastfeeding;several guidelines stated that PA did not impact breast milk quantity(n=7),breast milk quality(n=6),or infant growth(n=3).For SB,suggestions included limiting long-term sitting and interrupting sitting with ***:Country-specific postpartum guidelines for PA and SB can help promote healthy behaviors using a culturally appropriate context while providing specific guidance to public health practitioners.

Fibrous dysplasia(FD)is a rare,disabling skeletal disease for which there are no established *** evidence supports inhibiting the osteoclastogenic factor receptor activator of nuclear kappa-B ligand(RANKL)as a potential treatment *** this study,we investigated the mechanisms underlying RANKL inhibition in FD tissue and its likely indirect effects on osteoprogenitors by evaluating human FD tissue pre-and post-treatment in a phase 2 clinical trial of denosumab(NCT03571191)and in murine in vivo and ex vivo preclinical *** analysis of human and mouse tissue demonstrated increased osteogenic maturation,reduced cellularity,and reduced expression of the pathogenic Gαs variant in FD lesions after RANKL *** sequencing of human and mouse tissue supported these *** interaction between osteoclasts and mutant osteoprogenitors was further assessed in an ex vivo lesion model,which indicated that the proliferation of abnormal FD osteoprogenitors was dependent on *** results from this study demonstrated that,in addition to its expected antiosteoclastic effect,denosumab reduces FD lesion activity by decreasing FD cell proliferation and increasing osteogenic maturation,leading to increased bone formation within *** findings highlight the unappreciated role of cellular crosstalk between osteoclasts and preosteoblasts/osteoblasts as a driver of FD pathology and demonstrate a novel mechanism of action of denosumab in the treatment of bone disease.

BACKGROUND With an ongoing demand for transplantable organs,optimization of donor management protocols,specifically in trauma populations,is important for obta-ining a high yield of viable organs per *** management of brain-dead potential organ donors(BPODs)is controversial,leading to heterogeneous clinical management *** studies have shown that when levo-thyroxine was combined with other treatments,including steroids,vasopressin,and insulin,BPODs had better organ recovery and survival outcomes were increased for transplant *** To determine if levothyroxine use in combination with steroids in BPODs increased the number of organs donated in trauma *** A retrospective review of adult BPODs from a single level 1 trauma center over ten years was *** criteria included patients who were not solid organ donors,patients who were not declared brain dead(donation after circulatory death),and patients who did not receive steroids in their hospital *** and steroid administration,the number of organs donated,the types of organs donated,and demographic information were *** analyses were performed with Pmet inclusion criteria,69(78%)of whom received levothyroxine and steroids(ST/LT group)vs 19(22%)receiving steroids without levothyroxine(ST group).No differences were observed between the groups for gender,race,pertinent injury factors,age,or other hormone therapies used(P>0.05).In the ST/LT group,68.1%(n=47)donated a high yield(3-5)of organ types per donor compared to 42.1%(n=8)in the ST group(P=0.038).There was no difference in the total number of organ types donated between the groups(P=0.068).CONCLUSION This study suggests that combining levothyroxine and steroid administration increases high-yield organ donation per donor in BPODs in the trauma patient *** to this study include

Chemical dissolution-front instability(CDFI)problems usually involve multiple temporal and spatial scales,as well as multiple processes.A key issue associated with solving a CDFI problem in a fluid-saturated rock is to mathematically establish a theoretical criterion,which can be used to judge the instability of a chemical dissolution-front(CDF)propagating in the fluidsaturated *** theoretical paper deals with how two different mathematical schemes can be used to precisely establish such a theoretical criterion in a purely mathematical manner,rather than in a numerical simulation *** main distinguishment between these two different mathematical schemes is that in the first mathematical scheme,a curved surface coordinate system is used,while in the second mathematical scheme,a planar surface coordinate system is *** particular,all the key mathematical deduction steps associated with using these two different mathematical schemes are described and discussed in great *** main theoretical outcomes of this study have demonstrated that(1)two different mathematical schemes under consideration can produce exactly the same theoretical criterion;(2)the main advantage of using the first mathematical scheme is that the interface conditions at the curved interface between the downstream and upstream regions can be easily described mathematically;(3)the main advantage of using the second mathematical scheme is that the first-order perturbation equations of the CDFI problem can be easily described in a purely mathematical manner.

The hygrothermal performance of a ventilated roof cavity is greatly affected by the airflow passing through *** ventilation flow is mainly driven by the wind pressure difference between openings and the thermal-induced ***,the wind effect is not well understood as it is often neglected in previous *** present study investigates the properties of such airflows,including the flow pattern,flow regime,and flow rate,using a CFD *** target building is a large-span commercial building with a low-pitched *** study the wind-induced airflows,the onset atmospheric boundary layer wind flow was modelled,and the results were compared with the site-measured data recorded in the *** study the thermal-induced buoyancy effects,a roof cavity model found in the literature with experimental data was *** findings show that the flow pattern in the roof cavity varied with the airflow driven *** flow separation at the windward eave inlet of the thermally induced flows are more pronounced compared with those of the wind-induced ***,the wind-induced airflows can generate around two times more ventilation flow rate through the roof cavity compared to the thermal-induced *** findings indicate that wind-induced ventilation flows are the dominant factor of the roof cavity ventilation in a large-span,low-pitched building.

Cholinergic system associated DOPA-refractory motor and cognitive symptoms-a need for novel therapeutic approaches:Accumulating evidence points to significant motor and non-motor morbidities associated with hypocholinergic deficits in central and peripheral neural systems in Parkinson’s disease(PD)(Bohnen et al.,2018,2022).This so-called“malignant”hypocholinergic disease phenotype is associated with DOPA-refractory dementia and mobility disturbances,such as falls and freezing of gait,and augur novel therapeutic approaches targeting cholinergic systems in *** pharmacotherapy in PD has been an interest for a long ***,the development of cholinergic augmentation pharmacotherapy has been hampered by limited clinical efficacy,the presumption that changes in cholinergic activity are homogeneous in the central nervous system(CNS)and peripheral nervous system,tolerance or safety of cholinesterase inhibitor drugs,low CNS penetrance,high rate of peripheral autonomic side-effects and clinical *** development of nicotinic or muscarinic receptor modulating drugs appears more promising but is still in the development *** the current unmet need for managing DOPA-refractory cognitive and mobility impairments associated with hypocholinergic neural systems,there is a need for novel and complementary therapeutic and more personalized approaches.

Dear Editor,In this letter,the backstepping technique is applied to solve the predefined-time stabilization problem for autonomous nonlinear systems,where nonlinear terms are unknown but satisfy a linear growth condition.A linear time-varying control law is designed to drive all states of an autonomous nonlinear system to the origin for an a priori preassigned time.
