Experimental investigation of surfactant adsorption during EOR and soil pollution control processes:Influence of surfactant concentration,water salinity,and clay type

surfactant injection is a well-established method of chemical EOR *** adsorption into clay layers can prevent their proper performance and thus reduce the oil recovery *** the other hand,this adsorption property of clay materials can be used to prevent surface and underground water pollution and reduce soil *** this experimental study,the effect of surfactant concentration,electrolyte type(NaCl and MgCl_(2)),and the solution salinity on fluid adsorption into the interlayer space of different clay types(bentonite and kaolinite)was *** analysis was conducted on two relevant clay samples,and immersion and Washburn tests were performed on the desired samples with the sigma 700 ***,according to the clay type,the most optimal conditions were introduced for the surfactant solution used in the two areas of EOR and environmental processes related to reducing soil *** the EOR processes,the optimal condition for the lowest adsorption amount is C(with 1 CMC concentration and salinity of 100,000 ppm for NaCl salt).This fluid works better in kaolinite *** the environmental field related to the reduction of soil pollution,if the pollutants we are looking for are R and s(with alkyl benzene sulfonic acid as the dominant agent),bentonite has a better performance than kaolinite in terms of adsorption and subsequently pollution *** the polluting fluid contains MgCl_(2) ions in the exact salinity values,the adsorption amount and soil pollution control will be higher for both adsorbent clays than if our fluid has NaCl *** study's findings have a wide range of applications in surfactant flooding designs,surfactant adsorption optimization,and can be generalized to other detergent types.

本文旨在研究孔隙度对具有不均匀横截面的功能分级多孔梁的自由振动和屈曲行为的影响。一般认为材料的性能沿厚度方向变化,而梁的横截面沿其长度方向分布不均匀。三种不同的孔隙度分布包括对称分布、非对称分布和均匀分布。利用经典的梁理论和Hamilton原理推导出了问题的控制方程,并用微分求积法推导出公式。通过已知方法和分析解法对所得结果进行了验证。通过网格独立性研究,确定了最优离散化设置。利用详细的参数化分析研究了不同力学参数,包括孔隙率系数、长径比和变化截面对基频和临界屈曲载荷的影响。结果表明,材料孔隙率的增加会导致梁的屈曲能力显著降低。然而,梁的自由振动行为完全取决于其孔隙度模式。此外,孔隙呈对称分布的梁其屈曲能力和基频性能最好。

Efficacy of tadalafil on improvement of men with erectile dysfunction caused by COVID-19:A randomized placebo-controlled trial

Objective: According to the high prevalence of COVID-19 and the subsequent risk of men's sexual health, we decided to investigate the efficacy of tadalafil on improvement of men with erectile dysfunction caused by ***: In this study, 70 outpatients who were recovered from COVID-19 without acute respiratory distress syndrome with negative polymerase chain reaction test and a complaint of erectile dysfunction were divided into two groups: 35 patients who received tadalafil 5 mg daily and 35 who received placebo. For each patient, basic assessment of sexual function was performed using the 5-item version of the International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF-5) questionnaire. Then, treatment was started from 2 months after complete recovery of COVID-19 with negative polymerase chain reaction test for 3 months. At the end of the treatments, the patients were re-evaluated for sexual function using the complete version of IIEF questionnaire. Finally, the results before and after treatment in the intervention group were compared with those of the control ***: Treatment with both tadalafil and placebo improved the patients' sexual function criteria compared to the baseline. However, this improvement was significantly higher in the intervention group with tadalafil than the control group with placebo (psion: Daily administration of tadalafil 5 mg seems to be effective and safe for improvement of erectile dysfunction caused by COVID-19.

Foam flooding using CO_(2)has emerged as a promising method for both enhanced oil recovery(EOR)and the storage of CO_(2)in geological *** study conducts a thorough analysis of the behavior of CO_(2)and N_(2)foams in bulk and porous media,utilizing bubble-scale analyses and foam flooding *** study compares the foamability and longevity of CO_(2)and N_(2)foams,with findings indicating that N_(2)foam bubbles tend to be smaller and less varied in size than CO_(2)foam bubbles,leading to increased foam ***,the study compares the half-lives of CO_(2)and N_(2)foams generated through sparging and winding methods,showing that N_(2)foam has half-lives 22 and 10 times greater than CO_(2)foam when produced using the sparging and winding methods,***,CO_(2)foam generated through the sparging method had a lower foaming volume than N_(2)foam due to CO_(2)'s *** the foam flooding experiments,N_(2)foam proved more effective in recovering oil from porous media than CO_(2)foam,thus demonstrating the effectiveness of the foam injection *** results offer valuable insights into the differing performance of N_(2)and CO_(2)foam floods for EOR and CO_(2)geological storage.

Evaluation of Hemoglobin and serum Erythropoietin Levels in Patients with Polycythemia Vera and secondary Polycythemia

Objective: This study compares hemoglobin and erythropoietin levels in patients with polycythemia vera and secondary polycythemia. study Design: A retrospective cross-sectional study evaluating the serum erythropoietin and hemoglobin levels in patients with polycythemia vera and secondary polycythemia. This study was performed simultaneously in Texas state of the U.s. and Fars Province in Iran. Methods: Hemoglobin, hematocrit and erythropoietin test results were collected from patients aged 19 to 75 years who were diagnosed with polycythemia vera and secondary polycythemia. Patients records with history of thrombocythemia, congestive heart failure, dyspnea, anemia and pregnant woman were excluded from study. Patients in each decade of life were examined in separate groups, so that changes in hemoglobin related to aging did not affect the research results. Results: 75% of the patients were men, and 25% were women. A total of 1580 patients were analyzed in this study. 57.3% of patients in UTMB and 38.8 patients in Iran have hemoglobin level above 17 mg/dl. 74% of patients in UTMB and 88% of patients in Iran have erythropoietin below 10 IU/mL. Polycythemia in UTMB was more common in people over 50 and in Iran in patients under 50 years old. The serum hemoglobin and erythropoietin levels in patients with polycythemia vera were not significantly different in compare to secondary polycythemia patients. Data showed that there were 84 polycythemia patients per 100,000 people. The results of this study in UTMB and Iran showed that 4.5% and 7%, respectively, of patients with polycythemia had a positive JAK2 test. Conclusion: Low erythropoietin levels may not be helpful in differentiating polycythemia vera from secondary polycythemia. .

An improved algorithm for computing multiphase flows is presented in which the multimaterial Moment-of-Fluid(MOF)algorithm for multiphase flows,initially described by Li et al.(2015),is enhanced addressing existing MOF difficulties in computing solutions to problems in which surface tension forces are crucial for understanding salient flow *** Continuous MOF(CMOF)method is motivated in this *** CMOF reconstruction method inherently removes the"checkerboard instability"that persists when using the MOF method on surface tension driven multiphase(multimaterial)*** CMOF reconstruction algorithm is accelerated by coupling the CMOF method to the level set method and coupling the CMOF method to a decision tree machine learning(ML)*** flow examples are shown in the two-dimensional(2D),three-dimensional(3D)axisymmetric"RZ",and 3D coordinate *** include two material and three material multiphase flows:bubble formation,the impingement of a liquid jet on a gas bubble in a cryogenic fuel tank,freezing,and liquid lens dynamics.
