Shift current photovoltaic devices are potential candidates for future cheap,sustainable,and efficient electricity *** the present work,we calculate the solar-generated shift current and efficiencies in 326 different 2D materials obtained from the computational database *** apply,as metrics,the efficiencies of monolayer and multilayer *** monolayer efficiencies are generally found to be low,while the multilayer efficiencies of infinite stacks show great ***,the out-of-plane shift current response is considered,and material candidates for efficient out-of-plane shift current devices are *** the screened materials,MXY Janus and MX_(2) transition metal dichalchogenides(TMDs)constitute a prominent subset,with chromium based MXY Janus TMDs holding particular ***,in order to explain the band gap dependence of the PV efficiency,a simple gapped graphene model with a variable band gap is established and related to the calculated efficiencies.

Performance and Improvement of Production Line Function Using Computer Simulation (Case Study: An Iron Foundry)

Using the accurate methods and tools for evaluation of function in different areas is of great importance. In recent years, much more studies have been done on the nature and methodology of function evaluation in organizations and its improvement. This study aimed to evaluate and improve the function of production line through computer simulation in one of the iron foundries in Iran. For this purpose, at first data has been gathered on the basis of timing with chronometer for each one of the production line machineries and using this data, distribution functions governing the activity cycle of each one of these machineries have been determined;and then, using the required gathered data for computer simulation (taking the advantage of “ED” simulation software), a model was simulated to introduce the current situation of production line and the validity of simulated model was measured on the basis of production rate. And then, considering the criteria such as the production rate, average waiting time, machine utilization coefficient, production yield, production cost, production income and the production time production line function was evaluated. Finally, applying amendment changes on the simulated model improved model was offered.

BMI-Adjusted Tube Current in Chest CT and Comparison of Lifetime Attributable Risk (LAR) of Breast Cancer in Two Different BMI-Based Protocols

Possible strategies to reduce radiation dose during CT scanning have been investigated over recent decades;here the optimization of the tube current and its link with patient’s cancer incidence are being evaluated. 154 consecutive trauma patients with the need for chest CT scan were included. Two different BMI-adjusted CT protocols at a fixed voltage tube and the same scan length were applied. Dose estimation parameters like CT dose index (CTDI), dose length product (DLP) and effective breast dose were calculated. Breast surface dose was obtained by using thermoluminescence dosimeters (TLDs) and eventually, the life attributable risk (LAR) of cancer incidence was estimated. The mean effective dose was 4.87 ± 2.3 mSv and 5.12 ± 2.8 mSv for patients who were scanned with tube currents of 120 mAs and 200 mAs, respectively. There was no significant difference between organ surface doses for females but in males it was notable. The risk of cancer incidence is lower for protocol 1 in comparison with protocol 2. Optimizing tube current of 120 mAs reduced breast surface dose up to 50% in comparison with the tube current of 200 mAs. In trauma patients, using lower tube current based on BMI has notable impact on the absorbed dose in the breast and can reduce the breast cancer risk by nearly 33.6% for women.
