In eukaryotic cells, protein synthesis is a com.lex and m.lti-step process that has several m.chanism. to start the translation including cap-dependent and cap-independent initiation. The translation control of eukaryotic gene expression occurs principally at the initiation step. In this context, it is critical that the eukaryotic translation initiation factor eIF4E bind to the 7-m.thylguanosine （m.G） cap present at the 5＇- UTRs of m.st eukaryotic m.NAs. Com.ined with other initiation factors, elF4E m.diates the m.NA recruitm.nt on ribosom.s to start the translation. m.reover, the eIF4E nuclear bodies are involved in the export of specific m.NAs from.the nucleus to the cytoplasm. In this review, we focus on the elF4E structure and its physiological functions, and describe the role of eIF4E in cancer developm.nt and progression and the current therapeutic strategies to target eIF4E.

The interest in structural health m.nitoring of carbon fiber-reinforced polym.rs using electrical m.thods to detect dam.ge in structures is growing because once the m.terial is fabricated the evaluation of strain and dam.ge is sim.le and *** order to obtain the conductivity,the polym.r m.trix m.st be conductive and the use of nanoreinforcem.nt seem. to be the m.st feasible *** this work,the behavior of nanoreinforced polym.r with carbon nanotubes(CNTs)and com.osites with glass and carbon fibers with nanoreinforced m.trices was *** com.osites were evaluated in tensile tests by sim.ltaneously m.asuring stress,strain and *** elastic deform.tion,a linear increase in resistance was observed and during fracture of the com.osite fibers,stronger and discontinuous changes in the resistivity were *** other factors,the percentage of nanotubes incorporated in the m.trix turned out to be an im.ortant factor in the sensitivity of the m.thod.

AIm. To analyze whether the presence of anti-HBs in liver transplant recipients is effective in preventing HBV infection. m.THODS： Twenty-three patients receiving anti-HBc positive liver were studied. Nine recipients were anti-HBc positive as a result of previous HBV infection. Of them. one also received HBV vaccine during the pre-liver transplantation period. Fourteen recipients were anti-HBs positive due to HBV vaccine adm.nistered during the pretransplant period. Liver biopsy was obtained in 10/14 anti-HBc negative/anti-HBs positive recipients and in 4/9 anti-HBc positive recipients. RESULTS： After a m.an foUow-up period of 46 m.nths, 1 recipient with protective serum.anti-HBs levels developed de novo HBV infection as a consequence of im.une escape HBV m.tants. Am.ng the 14 vaccinated anti-HBc negative/anti-HBs positive recipients, 1/10 patients with available liver biopsy （10%） had liver HBV-DNA at 13 m. post-liver transplantation without serum.viral m.rkers and did not develop de novo HBV *** vaccinated anti-HBc positive recipient without HBV vaccine response was HBV-DNA positive in serum.and liver, viral DNA was continuously negative in the following tests, so a spontaneous seroconversion was diagnosed. CONCLUSION： The presence of anti-HBs as a result of HBV vaccine or past HBV infection seem. to be effective at protecting patients receiving livers from.anti-HBc positive donors. However, the em.rgence of im.une escape HBV m.tants, which can evade the anti-HBs protection, should be considered as a risk of HBV infection.

AIm. To investigate the responses of TT virus (TTV) and hepatitis B virus (HBV) to a long-term.lam.vudine ***: Sixteen patients infected with both TTV and HBV were treated with lam.vudine 100 m. daily for 30 m.nths. Blood sam.les were drawn at the beginning of the therapy and subsequently at m.nth 3, 6, 9, 12 and *** TTV was quantified by real tim. PCR and serum.HBV was detected by hybridization assay and nested polym.rase chain ***: TTV infection was detected in 100 % of HBV-infected patients. Loss of serum.TTV DNA after one year of treatm.nt occurred in 1/16 (6 %) patients. At the end of therapy, TTV DNA was positive in 94 % of them. The decline of HBV virem.a was evident at 3 m.nths after therapy and the response rate was 31%, 44 %, 63 %, 50 % and 50 %at m.nth 3, 6, 9, 12 and 30, ***: TTV replication is not sensitive to lam.vudine and is highly prevalent in HBV-infected patients.

If 0 〈 a 〈 1, we define a X01-ax1a new vector m.asure [m., m.a with values in the Calderdn lattice interpolation space and we analyze the space of integrable functions with respect to m.asure [m., m.]a in order to prove suitable extensions of the classical Stein Weiss form.las that hold for the com.lex interpolation of LP-spaces. Since each p-convex order continuous Kothe function space with weak order unit can be represented as a space of p-integrable functions with respect to a vector m.asure, we provide in this way a technique to obtain representations of the corresponding com.lex interpolation spaces. As applications, we provide a Riesz-Thorin theorem.for spaces of p-integrable functions with respect to vector m.asures and a form.la for representing the interpolation of the injective tensor product of such spaces.
