Stroke is considered the most common and severely disabling neurological disease. It is one of the leading causes of death after heart disease and cancer, causing 10% deaths worldwide and involving risk factors such as smoking, obesity and nutritional disbalance. Disability affects 75% of stroke survivors through severe mental and/or physical impairment depending on the affected brain area （Go et al., 2014）.

The Belt and Road Initiative （BRI） aims to improve cross-border infrastructure to reduce transportation costs across a massive geographical area between China and Europe. We estimate how much trade might be created among Belt and Road （B＆R） countries as a consequence of the reduction in transportation costs （both railway and maritime） and find that European Union countries, especially landlocked countries, will benefit considerably. This is also true for Eastern Europe and Central Asia and, to a lesser extent, South-East Asia. In contrast, if China were to seek to establish a free trade area within the B＆R region, EU member states would benefit less, while Asia would benefit more. Xi Jinping＇s current vision for the B＆R, centered on improving transport infrastructure, is advantageous for Europe as far as trade creation is concerned.

Dear Editor:Caspase regulation and activation have been extensivelystudied since the discovery of this class of proteases almosttwo decades ago, yet surprisingly few tools are availablethat can be used to monitor individual caspase activities[1]. The most commonly used tools include caspase-specificanti-sera as well as fluorogenic substrates and ***, antibody reagents often do not provide anaccurate measure of caspase activity since several caspasefamily members (caspases 8/10 and 9) do not require pro-teolytic processing for activation [2,3].Furthermore,recentevidence suggests that caspase-7(an executioner caspase)activation occurs via a catalytically active full-length inter-mediate that cannot be differentiated from the non-cleavedinactive zymogen using antibodies[4,5].As an alternative to antibody-based reagents,smallmolecule substrates and inhibitors can be used to directlymonitor caspase activity and a relatively large number ofcaspase substrates,inhibitors,and activity-based probes arenow commercially *** reagents have begunto find widespread use in cell biological and biochemicalstudies of caspase *** most cases,these tools areused as selective reagents to assess the contribution ofspecific caspases to a given apoptotic pathway.

In this work,Digital Twins based on Neural Networks for the steady state production of styrene were ***,both the Aspen Technology AI Model Builder(alternative 1)and a homemade MS Excel VBA code connected to Aspen HYSYS and Aspen Plus(alternative 2)were used with this same *** raw data used for generating the Digital Twins were obtained from process simulations using Aspen HYSYS and/or Aspen Plus,which were connected through a recycle-like stream via automation for solving the entire simulation *** HYSYS was used for solving the pre-heating,reaction,and stabilization sections of the process whereas Aspen Plus ensured the computing of the separation and purification *** alternatives led to an excellent prediction showing the capability of creating Digital Twins from and for process simulation.
