3-Methoxyphencyclidine(3-Meo-PCP)is a new psychoactive substance that belongs to the phencyclidines family,first identified in Europe in *** drug presents a stronger binding to N-methyl-D-aspartate(NMDA)receptors when compared to phencyclidine,which results in more potent effects,even at low *** few articles have been published regarding 3-Meo-PCP in forensic *** this paper,the authors present a fatal 3-Meo-PCP intoxication *** addition to the detection of the parent drug,metabolites were investigated in urine and,for the first time in the scientific literature,in blood.3-Meo-PCP and its metabolites were quantitated by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry system(LC-MS/MS).Identification was confirmed by liquid chromatography-high resolution mass spectrometry(LC-HRMS).3-Meo-PCP tested positive in femoral blood(3525 ng/mL)and urine(7384 ng/mL).The femoral blood concentration was higher than the fatal concentrations range already reported in the literature(from 50 to 3200 ng/mL).3-Meo-PCP metabolites,including o-demethyl-3-Meo-PCP,piperidine-oH-3-Meo-PCP,o-demethyl-piperidine-di-oH-3-Meo-PCP and piperidine-di-oH-3-Meo-PCP,were detected in *** addition,two new metabolites,o-demethyl-piperidine-oH-3-Meo-PCP and o-demethyl-cyclohexyl-oH,were identified in both blood and ***,due to the lack of reference material on the market,it was not possible to measure the concentration of these ***,the ratios between the metabolites and the parent drug were useful to estimate their analytical response and *** this time,considering the low ratios(olites and parent drug,metabolites testing does not seem useful to increase the detection window of the drug.

Despite significant advances in imaging techniques, the incidence of colorectal cancer has been increasing in recent years, with many cases still being diagnosed in advanced stages. Early detection and accurate staging remain the main factors that lead to a decrease in the cost and invasiveness of the curative techniques, significantly improving the outcome. However, the diagnosis of pedunculated early colorectal malignancy remains a current challenge. Data on the management of pedunculated cancer precursors, apart from data on nonpolypoid lesions, are still limited. An adequate technique for complete resection, which provides the best long-term outcome, is mandatory for curative intent. In this context, a discussion regarding the diagnosis of malignancy of pedunculated polyps, separate from nonpedunculated variants, is necessary. The purpose of this review is to provide a critical review of the most recent literature reporting the different features of malignant pedunculated colorectal polyps, including diagnosis and management strategies.

To decipher the transcriptomic regulation of the on-tree fruit maturation in pear cv.‘Abate fetel’,a RNA-seq transcription analysis identified 8939 genes differentially expressed across four harvesting *** genes were grouped into 11 SoTA clusters based on their transcriptional pattern,of which three included genes upregulated while the other four were represented by downregulated *** ripening was furthermore investigated after 1 month of postharvest cold *** most important variation in fruit firmness,production of ethylene and volatile organic compounds were observed after 5 days of shelf-life at room temperature following cold *** role of ethylene in controlling the ripening of‘Abate fetel’pears was furthermore investigated through the application of 1-methylcyclopropene,which efficiently delayed the progression of ripening by reducing fruit softening and repressing both ethylene and volatile *** physiological response of the interference at the ethylene receptor level was moreover unraveled investigating the expression pattern of 12 candidate genes,initially selected to validate the RNA-seq *** analysis confirmed the effective role of the ethylene competitor in downregulating the expression of cell wall(PG)and ethylene-related genes(ACS,ACo,ERS1,and ERS2),as well as inducing one element involved in the auxin signaling pathway(Aux/IAA),highlighting a possible cross-talk between these two *** expression patterns of these six elements suggest their use as molecular toolkit to monitor at molecular level the progression of the fruit on-tree maturation and postharvest ripening.

The Influence of the Model fractal Parameters on the Electromagnetic Response in Environment with Cylindrical Layers

The induced polarization response of an environment presenting cylindrical layers was obtained. The fractal model for complex resistivity was employed as an intrinsic property of the polarizable layers. The influence of the model fractal parameters on the electromagnetic response was investigated. The results demonstrated that the fractal parameters dominate the apparent resistivity phase response;measurements of the induced polarization data allow for the determination of the fractal properties of the environment without noticeable electromagnetic coupling effects at frequencies below 104 Hz.

objective:To evaluate the in vitro anticancer activity of crude ethyl acetate extracts of the culture of four marine-derived fungi Aspergillus similanensis KUfA 0013(E1),Neosartorya paulistemis KUfC 7897(E2),Neosartorya siamensis KUfA 0017(E4) and Talaromyces trachyspermus KUfC 0021(E3) on a panel of seven human cancer cell ***:Effects on cell proliferation,induction of DNA damage and cell death were assessed by MTT and clonogenic assays,comet assay and nuclear condensation assay,***:The proliferation of HepG2,HCTl 16 and A375 cells decreased after incubation with the extracts E2 and *** anti-proliterative effect was confirmed by morphologic alterations and by clonogenic *** extracts also induced cell death in HepG2 and HCT116 *** was used as a positive control and showed in vitro anticancer ***:This study demonstrated,for the first time,that extracts of Neosartorya paulistensis and Neosartorya siamensis have selective anti-proliferative and cell death activities in HepG2,HCT16 and A375 *** bioactivity of these extracts suggests a potential for biotechnological applications and substantiates that both should be further considered for the elucidation of the molecular targets and signal transduction pathways involved.

Heat stress significantly impairs reproduction of sheep,and under current climatic conditions is a significant risk to the efficiency of the meat and wool production,with the impact increasing as global temperatures *** from field studies and studies conducted using environmental chambers demonstrate the effects of hot temperatures(≥32℃)on components of ewe fertility(oestrus,fertilisation,embryo survival and lambing)are most destructive when experienced from 5 d before until 5 d after *** controlled studies also demonstrate that ram fertility,as measured by rates of fertilisation and embryo survival,is reduced when mating occurs during the period 14 to 50 d ***,the contribution of the ram to heat induced reductions in flock fertility is difficult to determine *** primarily on temperature controlled studies,it is clear that sustained exposure to high temperatures(≥32℃)during pregnancy reduces lamb birthweight and will,therefore,decrease lamb survival under field *** is concluded that both ewe and ram reproduction is affected by relatively modest levels of heat stress(≥32℃)and this is a concern given that a significant proportion of the global sheep population experiences heat stress of this magnitude around mating and during *** this,strategies to limit the impacts of the climate on the homeothermy,behaviour,resource use and reproduction of extensively grazed sheep are limited,and there is an urgency to improve knowledge and to develop husbandry practices to limit these impacts.

Evaluation of calcined textile sludge as a stabilizing material for highway soil

The textile industry is a pioneer in the industrialization process in Brazil and is relevant to the Brazilian economy. However, it also generates as operational residue a solid waste,commonly called textile sludge. Pavement construction, which mobilizes large volumes of soil, constitutes an alternative to the reuse of residue, especially when stabilization is involved. The use of stabilized soils with the addition of waste can provide technical,economic and environmentally friendly advantages. This research aimed to study the use of chemical stabilization technique with sludge and three additives(lime, cement and asphalt emulsion) applied in base and subbase of pavements. The scope of this study was divided into four phases, i) characterization tests, ii) physical stabilization, iii) chemical stabilization and determination of heavy metals in the sludge, and iv) addition of 10% of textile sludge and chemical stabilizers(lime, cement, and asphalt emulsion) in amounts of 3%, 5% and 7% as additives in a soil, based on the results obtained in the second phase. Test results indicated that the stabilization of mixtures of soil with textile sludge has the potential to be used in pavement layers(base and subbase). The addition of cement promotes the best chemical stabilization for the sludge. The use of textile sludge stabilization presents greater environmental benefits, given the malfunctions and problems that the incorrect waste disposal can cause to the environment.
