This paper numerically investigates the effect of the location of a horizontal fin on the melting of a phase change material(PCM)inside a rectangular enclosure heated by multiple discrete pulsed protruding heat *** fin and the phase change material filling the enclosure store the thermal energy extracted from the heat sources,in sensible and latent *** heat sources are assumed to simulate electronic components undergoing a superheating technical *** extracting heat from the electronics,the PCM plays the role of a heat *** analyze the thermal behavior and predict the cooling performance of the proposed cooling system,we derive a nonlinear mathematical model based on mass,momentum and energy conservation *** numerical investigations are conducted to quantify the influence of the fin position on the thermal behavior and the cooling performance of the heat *** include the transient maximum temperature occurring inside the heat sources and the liquid volume.A comparison between our numerical results and experimental data selected from the literature shows a good *** main conclusion is that the presence of the fin leads to a slight increase in the melting time.

Due to the numerous variables to take into account as well as the inherent ambiguity and uncertainty,evaluating educational institutions can be *** concept of a possibility Pythagorean fuzzy hypersoft set(pPyFHSS)is more flexible in this regard than other theoretical fuzzy set-like models,even though some attempts have been made in the literature to address such *** study investigates the elementary notions of pPyFHSS including its set-theoretic operations union,intersection,complement,OR-and *** results related to these operations are also modified for ***,the similarity measures between pPyFHSSs are formulated with the assistance of numerical examples and ***,an intelligent decision-assisted mechanism is developed with the proposal of a robust algorithm based on similarity measures for solving multi-attribute decision-making(MADM)problems.A case study that helps the decision-makers assess the best educational institution is discussed to validate the suggested *** algorithmic results are compared with the most pertinent model to evaluate the adaptability of pPyFHSS,as it generalizes the classical possibility fuzzy set-like theoretical ***,while considering significant evaluating factors,the flexibility of pPyFHSS is observed through structural comparison.

Spinal cord injury remains a major cause of disability in young adults,and beyond acute decompression and rehabilitation,there are no pharmacological treatments to limit the progression of injury and optimize recovery in this *** the thorough investigation of the complement system in triggering and propagating cerebral neuroinflammation,a similar role for complement in spinal neuroinflammation is a focus of ongoing *** this work,we survey the current literature investigating the role of complement in spinal cord injury including the sources of complement proteins,triggers of complement activation,and role of effector functions in the *** study relevant data demonstrating the different triggers of complement activation after spinal cord injury including direct binding to cellular debris,and or activation via antibody binding to damage-associated molecular *** effector functions of complement have been implicated in spinal cord injury,and we critically evaluate recent studies on the dual role of complement anaphylatoxins in spinal cord injury while emphasizing the lack of pathophysiological understanding of the role of opsonins in spinal cord *** this pathophysiological review,we systematically review the different translational approaches used in preclinical models of spinal cord injury and discuss the challenges for future translation into human *** review emphasizes the need for future studies to dissect the roles of different complement pathways in the pathology of spinal cord injury,to evaluate the phases of involvement of opsonins and anaphylatoxins,and to study the role of complement in white matter degeneration and regeneration using translational strategies to supplement genetic models.

In this study, the entropy generation and the heat transfer of pulsating air flow in a horizontal channel with an open cavity heated from below with uniform temperature distribution are numerically investigated. A numerical method based on finite volume method is used to discretize the governing equations. At the inlet of the channel, pulsating velocity is imposed for a range of Strouhal numbers Stpfrom 0 to 1 and amplitude Apfrom 0 to 0.5. The effects of the governing parameters, such as frequency and amplitude of the pulsation, Richardson number, Ri, and aspect ratio of the cavity, L/H, on the flow field, temperature distribution, average Nusselt number and average entropy generation, are numerically analyzed. The results indicate that the heat transfer and entropy generation are strongly affected by the frequency and amplitude of the pulsation and this depends on the Richardson number and aspect ratio of the cavity. The pulsation is more effective with the aspect ratio of the cavity L/H= 1.5 in terms of heat transfer enhancement and entropy generation minimization.

The corrosion inhibition characteristics of aqueous extract of seeds of Melia azedarach L.(MA) have been studied as eco-friendly green inhibitor for corrosion control of C-steel in 2 mol·L^(-1) HCl solution by gravimetric and electrochemical methods. The results depict that, the extract inhibits efficiently the corrosion of carbon steel in hydrochloric acid. The efficiency of extract is increased with increasing the extract concentration but independent on the studied temperature. The adsorption of the extract components onto the steel surface was found to be spontaneous, and follows Langmuir adsorption isotherm. The surface morphology of C-steel, in the absence and presence of MA extract in 2.0 mol·L^(-1) hydrochloric acid solution, was studied using scanning electron microscopy(SEM).

The hydrological models and simpli?ed methods of Saint-venant equations are used extensively in hydrological modeling, in particular for the simulation of the ?ood routing. These models require speci?c and extensive data that usually makes the study of ?ood propagation an arduous practice. We present in this work a new model, based on a transfer function, this function is a function of parametric probability density, having a physical meaning with respect to the propagation of a hydrological signal. The inversion of the model is carried out by an optimization technique called Genetic Algorithm. It consists of evolving a population of parameters based primarily on genetic recombination operators and natural selection to?nd the minimum of an objective function that measures the distance between observed and simulated data. The precision of the simulations of the proposed model is compared with the response of the Hayami model and the applicability of the model is tested on a real case, the N'Fis basin river, located in the High Atlas Occidental, which presents elements that appear favorable to the study of the propagation. The results obtained are very satisfactory and the simulation of the proposed model is very close to the response of the Hayami model.

This paper proposes numerical investigations carried out on a small scale tunnel model airing to study the fire-induced smoke control by longitudinal and longitudinal-natural ventilation systems. We studied the effect of two ventilation systems on the temperature distribution and stratification of the pollutant to estimate the efficiency of ventilation systems. The flow is characterized by the temperature fields, temperature profiles and the Froude number. The numerical tool used is FDS (version 4.0). This numerical study requires validation with an experience of literature. Good agreement with experimental results confirms the possibility of using this code in the problem.

The effects of maternal salinity and light incubation on the salinity tolerance of the facultative halophyte Anabasis setifera during their germination stages were assessed. Seeds were collected from non-saline habitats in Egypt and saline habitats in the United Arab Emirates （UAE）. The seeds of the two populations were germinated in 0, 100, 200, 400, 600 and 800 mM NaCI, and incubated at 25℃/15℃ in both 12-h light and 12-h darkness regimes and continuous darkness. Significantly more seeds germinated in the Egyptian population than in the UAE population. Salinity tolerance was significantly greater with the Egyptian population than with the UAE population, especially under the conditions of higher salinities. The difference in salinity tolerance between the seeds of two populations was attributed to their seed mass. In addition, germination was significantly faster for the Egyptian population than for the UAE population. Most of the saline treated seeds were able to recover their germination when transferred to distilled water, but this depended on their maternal salinity and light incubation. Recovery from higher salinities was significantly better for the seeds under darkness than for those under light in the UAE population, but the reverse was true for the seeds in the Egyptian population. The higher salinity tolerance for the A. setifera seeds from the non-saline Egyptian population and the lower salinity tolerance for the seeds from the saline UAE population cannot explain their natural distribution. Further studies about other possible roles, such as levels of different promoting and inhibiting phytohormones, are needed to understand the importance of salinity as an environmentally induced maternal effect.

The paper aims to extend the notion of regional observability of the gradient to the semilinear hyperbolic case, in order to reconstruct the gradient of the initial conditions in a subregion w of the domain evolution Ω. We start with an asymptotically linear system, the approach is based on an extension of the Hilbert uniqueness method （HUM） and Schauder＇s fixed point theorem. The analysis leads to an algorithm which is successfully numerically implemented and illustrated with examples and simulations.

Supply chain 4.0 refers to the fourth industrial revolution’s supply chain management systems,which integrate the supply chain’s manufacturing operations,information technology,and telecommunication *** supply chain 4.0 aims to improve supply chains’production systems and profitability,it is subject to different operational and disruptive *** risks are a big challenge in the cycle of supply chain 4.0 for controlling the demand and supply operations to produce and deliver products across IT *** paper proposes a voting classifier to identify the operational risks in the supply chain 4.0 based on a Sine Cosine Dynamic Group(SCDG)*** and exploitation mechanisms of the basic Sine Cosine Algorithm(CSA)are adjusted and controlled by two groups of agents that can be changed dynamically during the *** and internal features were collected and analyzed from different data sources of service level agreements and transaction data from various KSA firms to validate the proposed algorithm’s efficiency.A balanced accuracy of 0.989 and a Mean Square Error(MSE)of 0.0476 were achieved compared with other optimization-based classifier techniques.A one-way analysis of variance(ANOVA)and Wilcoxon rank-sum tests were performed to show the superiority of the proposed SCDG ***,the experimental results indicate the effectiveness of the proposed SCDG algorithm-based voting classifier.
