Postmiogypsinella intermedia Sirel and Gedik,2011 is reported for the first time from the shallow-marine limestones of the upper Chattian Qom Formation,Central *** miogypsinid species has so far only been recorded from the upper Oligocene of Malatya(type locality)and Sivas(Central Anatolia)in eastern Turkey and from the upper Oligocene of the Prebetic Domain,SE *** new record from Central Iran,paleobiogeographically located at the Eurasian margin of the Tethyan Seaway between the Western and Eastern Tethys realms,indicates that the paleogeographic distribution of this species has to be extended eastwards as far as Central *** observation is not unexpected,since miogypsinid foraminifers with eccentric embryonic-nepionic apparatus(e.g.,Miogypsinella,Miogypsinoides,Miogypsina)are usually widely *** accompanying larger benthic foraminifera,including Miogypsinoides complanatus(Schlumberger),Miogypsinoides formosensis Yabe and Hanzawa,Spiroclypeus margaritatus(Schlumberger),Operculina complanata(Defrance),and Risananeiza pustulosa Boukhary et al.,indicate the late Chattian age(corresponding to SBZ 23 Biozone).Postmiogypsinella intermedia is indicative of a shallow-marine middle ramp environment with oligotrophic conditions and inhabited the relatively deeper part of the photic zone.

In this paper, the sticker based DNA computing was used for solving the independent set problem. At first, solution space was constructed by using appropriate DNA memory complexes. We defined a new operation called “divide” and applied it in construction of solution space. Then, by application of a sticker based parallel algorithm using biological operations, independent set problem was resolved in polynomial time.

In this paper, a new simple structure of indexguiding photonic crystal fiber（PCF） is designed and presented. In this PCF, dispersion, confinement loss, and effective mode area characteristics are investigated in the second communication window（1.55 μm）. Since 1.55 μm wavelength is widely used in optical communication systems, we try to optimize the PCF characteristics in this wavelength by designing an index-guiding PCF and three versions of optimized PCF. The results show that the dispersion is obtained very close to zero around 4.6×10–4ps/（nm·km）. Also, the confinement loss is 2.303×10–6dB/km and effective mode area is as small as 2.6 μm2.

Knowing the current condition of the faults and fractures in a reservoir is crucial for production and injection activities.A good estimation of the fault reactivation potential in the current stress field is a useful tool for locating the appropriate spot to drill injection wells and to calculate the maximum sustainable pore pressure in enhanced oil recovery and geosequestration *** this study,after specifying the current stress state in the Gachsaran oilfield based on Anderson’s faulting theory,the reactivation tendency of four faults(F1,F2,F3,and F4)in the Asmari reservoir is analyzed using 3D Mohr diagrams and slip tendency *** showed that all the faults are stable in the current stress state,and F2 has the potential to undergo the highest pore pressure build-up in the *** the other hand,F3 has the proper conditions(i.e.,strike and dip referring to σHmax orientation)for *** polygons were also applied to show the effect of the pore pressure increase on fault stability,in a graphical *** to the results,the best location for drilling a new injection well in this part of the field is the NW side of F2,due to the lower risk of *** was found that both methods of 3D Mohr diagrams and slip tendency factors predict similar results,and with the lack of image logs for stress orientation determination,the slip tendency method can be *** results of such studies can also be used for locating safe injection points and determining the injection pressure prior to numerical modeling in further geomechanical studies.

The surface-based DNA computing is one of the methods of DNA computing which uses DNA strands immobilized on a solid surface. In this paper, we applied surface-based DNA computing for solving the dominating set problem. At first step, surface-based DNA solution space was constructed by using appropriate DNA strands. Then, by application of a DNA parallel algorithm, dominating set problem was resolved in polynomial time.

Study and Evaluation of Advanced TOFD Method for Inspection of Polyethylene Pipes but Welding

Polyethylene material has some specification that makes very difficult any kind of inspection based on ultrasonic. The acoustic impedance and sound velocity in this kind of material are near to the materials commonly used in ultrasonic wedges. Also this kind of materials are highly attenuative materials for ultrasound. To inspection of polyethylene circumferential but welds and overcome to all the problems mentioned, the especial technique of TOFD （Time of Flight Diffraction） method which employs low frequency probe and concentrate on the inspection area that longitudinal waves turn into transverse waves has been used. The purpose of inspection is determining the exact location of surface and internal welding defects. For this purpose, two separate polyethylene pipes with 10 inch in diameter, 15 mm thickness and also 25 inch diameter, 28 mm thickness, were selected. In total 40 artificial defects which involve 28 side drill holes in deferent depths and 12 surface and sub-surface notches were created. All artificially created defects were detected with very good accuracy. Unlike the conventional TOFD method which have 2 to 3 mm dead zone, by using the above method even surface notch with 0.5 mm has been detected.

Comparison of Kurtosis and Fourth Power Detectors with Applications to IR-UWB OOK Systems

On-off keying (OOK) is one of the modulation schemes for non-coherent impulse radio Ultra-wideband systems. In this paper, the utilization of the kurtosis detector (KD) and fourth power detector (FD) receivers for OOK signaling is introduced. We investigate the effect of integration interval and the optimum threshold on the performance of energy detector (ED), KD and FD receivers. The semi analytic expression of BER is obtained by using generalized extreme value distribution function for KD and FD receivers. From performance point of view, the simulation results show that FD receiver outperforms KD and ED receivers. In contrast, the sensitivity to the optimum threshold is greatly reduced in KD receiver compared to ED and FD receivers.

Intracranial dermoid cysts are nonneoplastic lesions that present a rare clinical entity. They account for 0.04% to 0.6% of all intracranial tumors. Such cystic lesions usually contain different ectodermal derivatives including hairs, sebaceous glands, apocrine gland and teeth. Dermoid cysts of foramen magnum occur very rarely, with few cases reported in the literature. Computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) are two main diagnostic tools. Here in this paper, we described a case of intracranial (foramen magnum) dermoid cyst presented with neurologic deficits that completely removed surgically.
