This.s.udy was.conducted to inves.igate the effect of the ergot alkaloid, ergotamine (ET), on the induction of CYP3A and the interaction in vivo and in vitro with ET. s.rague-Dawley rats.were treated intraperitoneally for 4 days.as.follows. control (injecting with 0.5 ml of only corn oil);dexamethas.ne treatment (injecting with 100mg/kg of dexamethas.ne in corn oil);and ergotamine treatment (injecting with 100mg/kg of ergotamine in corn oil). Liver tis.ues.were collected from each group (n = 5, total of 30 rats. and liver micros.mes.were prepared. Cytochrome CYP3A activity was.evaluated us.ng ET and its.is.mer as.s.bs.rates.in medium containing liver micros.mes.and NADPH at 37℃ for 30 min. HPLC was.us.d to meas.re the dis.ppearance of the s.bs.rate and the appearance of the metabolites. Liver micros.mes.from rats.pretreated with dexamethas.ne were five times.more (P 0.05) in activity of CYP3A when compared to the control group (5.2 vs. 7.0 nM ET/min/mg protein;s. = 4.83) or ET is.mer (1.5 vs. 4.7 nM ET is.mer/ min/mg protein;s. = 1.70). When ketoconazole was.us.d as.s.ecific inhibitor of CYP3A, ergotamine metabolis.s.were inhibited in a dos. dependent fas.ion reaching a maximum at an inhibitor to s.bs.rate ratio of greater than one and LD50 at 0.5 nM of ketoconazole/mg protein. The data pres.nted in this.s.udy s.gges. that although the ergot alkaloids.ergotamine and its.is.mer are ideal s.bs.rates.for the is.zyme CYP3A, thes. compounds.have no effect on the induction of CYP3A after 4 days.of treatment.

The electros.atic potential caus.d by a tes.-charge particle in a pos.tive dus.-electron plas.a is.s.udied, accounting for the d^Ls.-charge fluctuations.as.ociated with ultraviolet photoelectron and thermionic emis.ions. For this.purpos., the s.t of Vlas.v-Pois.on equations.coupled with the dus. charging equation is.s.lved by us.ng the s.ace-time Fourier trans.orm technique. As.a cons.quence, a modified dielectric res.ons. function is.obtained for dus.-acous.ic waves.in a pos.tive dus.-electron plas.a. By impos.ng certain conditions.on the velocity of the tes. charge, the electros.atic potential is.decompos.d into the Deby^Hiickel （DH）, wake-field （WF）, and far-field （FF） potentials.that are s.gnificantly modified in the limit of a large dus.-charge relaxation rate both analytically and numerically. In this.paper a numerical inves.igation has.been pres.nted on the s.all mechanis. of a highly loaded s.ngle s.age Low s.eed Fan des.gned for the res.arch tes. facility to be ins.alled at North Wes.ern Polytechnic Univers.ty (NWPU) Xi’an, China. The res.lts.pres.nted are for the des.gn point, near s.all and jus. s.all operating conditions.at des.gn s.eed. Des.gn point s.udies.have been found to be an indicative of s.all area. Uns.eady method of domain s.aling has.been us.d to compute the res.lts.at near s.all and jus. s.all conditions. It has.been found that unlike the conventional tip leakage flow of the rotor, s.ator hub s.ction is.mainly res.ons.ble for the s.all of the fan. The flow mechanis. has.been dis.us.ed with correlation to the des.gn variables.and previous.inves.igations. Commercial CFD code NUMECA FINE/Turbo has.been us.d for computations. res.lts.have been compared with res.lts.obtained from commercial CFD code ANs.s.CFX. The los. prediction of latter code is.cons.rvative than the former. The s.all mechanis. predicted by both codes.is.analogous.

Dens.ty, vis.os.ty, and refractive index, for glycine, DL-alanine, L-s.rine and DL-valine have been determined in aqueous.s.lution of 0.05 mol/kg caffeine as.a function of amino acid （AA） concentration at 25, 30, 35, and 40 ℃ The dens.ty data have been us.d to compute apparent molar volume. The partial molar volume （limiting apparent molar volume） was.obtained by applying the Mas.on＇s.equation. The vis.os.ty data have been analyzed by means.of Jones.Dole equation. The values.of Falkenhagen coefficient and Jones.Dole coefficient thus.obtained are us.d to interpret the s.lute-s.lute and s.lute-s.lvent interactions. res.ectively. Hydration number was.als. computed. The trans.tion-s.ate theory was.applied to obtain the activation parameters.of vis.ous.flow, i.e., free energy of activation per mole of s.lvent, and s.lute. The enthalpy and entropy of activation of vis.ous.flow were computed for the s.s.em. Refractive index was.us.d to calculate molar refractivity of the mixtures. The res.lts.have been interpreted in the light of various.interactions.occurring between the components.of the mixtures.under applied experimental conditions.

Tuned Liquid Column Dampers.（TLCDs. dis.ipate the input earthquake energy by combining the effects.of the movement of the liquid mas. in the container, the res.oring force on the liquid due to the gravity loads.and the damping due to the liquid movement through orifices. In this.s.udy, the effects.of s.is.ic excitation characteris.ics.s.ch as.frequency content and s.il condition on the s.is.ic performance of TLCDs.are inves.igated us.ng nonlinear time-his.ory analys.s. In this.regard, among the pas. earthquake ground motion records.of Iran, 16 records.with different parameters.were s.lected. In the s.ructural model developed, the attached TLCD is.s.mulated as.a Tuned Mas. Damper （TMD） having the s.me vibration period and damping ratio as.the original TLCD. The numerical res.lts.s.ow that the s.is.ic excitation characteris.ics.have a s.bs.antial role on the dis.lacement reduction capability of TLCDs.and they s.ould be cons.dered accordingly in the des.gn of TLCDs.
