Highly cited publication performance in the ophthalmology category in the Web of Science database:a bibliometric analysis

An analysis of the radar backscatter from oil-covered sea surfaces using moment method and Monte-Carlo simulation: preliminary results

An analysis of the radar backscattering from the ocean surface covered by oil spill is presented using a mi- crowave scattering model and Monte-Carlo simulation. In the analysis, a one-dimensional rough sea sur- face is numerically generated with an ocean waveheight spectrum for a given wind velocity. A two-layered medium is then generated by adding a thin oil layer on the simulated rough sea surface. The electric fields backscattered from the sea surface with two-layered medium are computed with the method of moments （MoM）, and the backscattering coefficients are statistically obtained with N independent samples for each oil-spilled surface using the Monte-Carlo technique for various conditions of surface roughness, oil-layer thickness, frequency, polarization and incidence angle. The numerical simulation results are compared with theoretical models for clean sea surfaces and SAR images of an off-spilled sea surface caused by the Hebei （Hebei province, China） Spirit oil tanker in 2007. Further, conditions for better oil spill extraction are sought by the numerical simulation on the effects of wind speed and oil-layer thickness at different inci- dence angles on the backscattering coefficients.

Generation of high resolution sea surface temperature using multi-satellite data for operational oceanography

In the present article, we introduce a high resolution sea surface temperature （SST） product generated daily by Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology （KIOST）. The SST product is comprised of four sets of data including eight-hour and daily average SST data of I km resolution, and is based on the four infrared （IR） satellite SST data acquired by advanced very high resolution radiometer （AVHRR）, Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer （MODIS）, Multifunctional Transport Satellites-2 （MTSAT-2） Imager and Meteorological Imager （MI）, two microwave radiometer SSTs acquired by Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer 2 （AMSR2）, and WindSAT with in-situ temperature data. These input satellite and in-situ SST data are merged by using the optimal interpolation （OI） algorithm. The root-mean-square-errors （RMSEs） of satellite and in-situ data are used as a weighting value in the OI algorithm. As a pilot product, four SST data sets were generated daily from Ianuary to December 2013. In the comparison between the SSTs measured by moored buoys and the daily mean KIOST SSTs, the estimated RMSE was 0.71~C and the bias value was -0.08~C. The largest RMSE and bias were 0.86 and -0.26~C respectively, observed at a buoy site in the boundary region of warm and cold waters with increased physical variability in the Sea of Iapan/East Sea. Other site near the coasts shows a lower RMSE value of 0.60~C than those at the open waters. To investigate the spatial distributions of SST, the Group for High Resolution Sea Surface Temperature （GHRSST） product was used in the comparison of temperature gradients, and it was shown that the KIOST SST product represents well the water mass structures around the Korean Peninsula. The KIOST SST product generated from both satellite and buoy data is expected to make substantial contribution to the Korea Operational Oceanographic System （KOOS） as an input parameter for data assimilation.

Gastric xanthoma is a predictive marker for metachronous and synchronous gastric cancer

To investigate predictive markers for metachronous and synchronous gastric cancer (GC), which can develop after endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD). METHODSA total of 352 patients underwent ESD for early GC at NTT West Osaka Hospital between June 2006 and February 2016. Exclusion criteria were as follows: Remnant stomach, unknown Helicobacter pylori status, and endoscopic observation of the whole stomach outside our hospital. We analyzed data from 192 patients comprising 109 patients with solitary GC (Group A) and 83 with metachronous and synchronous GC (Group B). We retrospectively investigated the clinicopathological and endoscopic characteristics, and endoscopic risk score as predictive markers for GC. RESULTSThe median age of Group B [72 years (interquartile range 63-78)] was significantly higher than that of Group A [66 years (interquartile range 61-74), respectively, P = 0.0009]. The prevalence of intestinal metaplasia in Group B tended to be higher than that in Group A (57.8% vs 45.0%, P = 0.08). The prevalence of gastric xanthoma (GX) in Group B was significantly higher than that in Group A (54.2% vs 32.1%, P = 0.003). The atrophy score in Group B was significantly higher than that in Group A (P = 0.005). Multivariate analysis revealed that higher age and the presence of GX were independently related to metachronous and synchronous GC [OR = 1.04 (1.01-1.08), P = 0.02; and OR = 2.11 (1.14-3.99), P = 0.02, respectively]. CONCLUSIONThe presence of GX is a useful predictive marker for metachronous and synchronous GC.

Double-balloon endoscopy in the diagnosis and management of GI tract diseases:Methodology,indications,safety,and clinical impact

AIM： To prospectively evaluate the indications, methodology, safety, and clinical impact of double-balloon endoscopy. METHODS： A total of 60 patients with suspected or documented small- or large-bowel diseases were investigated by double balloon endoscopy. A total of 103 procedures were performed （42 from the oral route, 60 from the anal route, and 1 from the stoma route）. The main outcome measurements were the time of insertion and the entire examination, complications, diagnostic yields, and the ability to successfully perform treatment. RESULTS： Observation of the entire small intestine was possible in 10 （40%） of 25 patients with total enteroscopy. The median insertion time was 122 min （range, 74-199 min）. Observation of the entire colon was possible in 13 （93%） of 14 patients at＂cer failure of total colonoscopy using a conventional colonoscope. Small-intestine abnormalities were found in 20 （43%） of 46 patients with indications of suspected or documented small bowel diseases, obscure GI tract bleeding, or a history of ileus. Endoscopic procedures including tattooing （n = 33）, bite biopsy （n = 17）, radiographic examination （n = 7）, EUS （n = 5）, hemostasis （n = 1）, polypectomy （n = 5）, balloon dilatation （n = 1）, endoscopic mucosal resection （n = 1） and lithotripsy （n = 1） were all successfully performed. No relevant technical problems or severe complications were encountered. CONCLUSION： Double balloon endoscopy is a feasible technique that allows adequate small and large bowel examination and potentially various endoscopic procedures of small-intestinal lesions. It is safe, useful, and also provides a high clinical impact.

This kind of constraint arises in many control problems of mechanical systems which is not stabilizable by linear feedback. The proposed method guarantees global asymptotic stability. Further, the approach is applied to the control of rotational crane systems easily via Backstepping.

知识产权保护是一项系统的工程。在立法保护方面，中国用短短20年的时间，走完了西方发达国家上百年的历程。但是知识产权的执法状况令人堪忧，全社会知识产权意识较为淡薄，侵权现象大量存在、屡禁不止，而执法体制以及执法队伍也存在着诸多问题和矛盾。在知识产权理论研究方面尚不成熟，缺乏纵深、透彻、全面和具有中国特有的研究，还不能圆满及时地回答和解决立法、司法实践中提出的急迫的重要问题，不能起到指导立法、执法的作用。本文对当前中国知识产权执法机制作了全面的研究和分析，对中国目前的双轨制(Duo System)之行政保护作了详细论述，并对执法当中存在的问题作了初步的分析，并提出建议。本文的导论部分对知识产权执法机制进行了简要的介绍，分析了TRIPS协议对各成员的执法要求，并概括了中国为落实TRIPS协议而在知识产权法执法机制方面所作出的完善。文章的第二部分对中国知识产权的司法保护进行了详细介绍，分别从民事司法保护、行政司法保护、刑事司法保护和司法保护临时措施几个方面勾勒出中国知识产权司法保护的现状及具体的法律规则。文章的第三部分对中国知识产权的行政保护进行了详细介绍，从行政保护的执法机构、行政保护的法律依据、具体规则及执行情况等方面进行了论述，并特别介绍了知识产权的海关保护。文章的最后一部分对中国知识产权执法的双轨制(Duo System)进行了分析。从执法的重点、执法的地区差异、刑事打击力度、行政执法专项活动等方面概括了中国知识产权执法所面临的情况。然后对知识产权的司法保护和行政保护之间的关系进行了整理，并从文化的角度、公众的知识产权保护意识角度、法院的公信力角度、行政执法在形式和效果角度详细论证了，在中国的知识产权保护体系中，行政保护是最具效率、最具中国特有的保护机制，它正在、并将在一个很长的时间里在中国的知识产权保护工作中发挥重要作用。在此基础上，文章最后提出，应从完善司法、行政的衔接、加强司法、行政部门之间的沟通、加强地区间的协调配合、充分利用司法解释的作用、提高执法队伍素质、积极参与保护知识产权国际交流等六个方面完善中国的知识产权执法机制。
