Understanding the impact of biological activities on the soil phosphorus(P)distribution under long-term fertilizer application can facilitate better soil P fertility ***,the primary objectives of this study were to investigate the effect of long-term(since 1981)fertilizer application on the soil P fractions and microbial community and to evaluate correlations between the microbial community structure and P *** following treatments were implemented in a long-term field trial:no fertilization(CK),inorganic N and K(NK),inorganic P and K(PK),inorganic N,P and K(NPK)and manure+NPK(MNPK)*** study showed that the soil pH,soil organic carbon and total and available N and P concentrations were considerably higher in the MNPK treatment than in the CK *** soil microbial biomass C,N and P concentrations were also significantly higher in the MNPK treatment than in the CK *** fertilization treatments,theβ-1,4-glucosidase,α-1,4-glucosidase,urease,acid phosphatase and phosphodiesterase activities were the highest in the MNPK *** to inorganic fertilization,the MNPK treatment increased the labile soil P fractions and decreased the residual soil P *** fertilization significantly affected the soil microbial *** total phospholipid fatty acid(PLFA)concentrations in the NK,PK,NPK and MNPK treatments were 23.3,43.1,48.7 and 87.7%higher,respectively,than in the CK treatment.A significant correlation was observed between the microbial community and soil P ***,the aggregated boosted tree(ABT)model showed that among the various soil biochemical properties,the total PLFA concentration was the factor that most influenced the active P pool,accounting for 35.4%of the relative influence of all soil biochemical properties *** findings reveal that combined manure and inorganic fertilizer application is a better approach than applying inorganic fertilizer alone fo

A compact,reconfigurable antenna supporting multiple wireless services with a minimum number of switches is found lacking in literature and the same became the focus and outcome of this *** was achieved by designing a Th-Shaped frequency reconfigurable multi-band microstrip planar antenna,based on use of a single switch within the radiating structure of the *** frequency bands(i.e.,2007–2501 MHz,3660–3983MHz and 9341–1046 MHz)can be operated with the switch in the ON switch *** the OFF state of the switch,the antenna operates within the 2577–3280MHz and 9379–1033MHz *** proposed antenna shows an acceptable input impedance match with Voltage Standing Wave Ratio(VSWR)less than *** peak radiation efficiency of the antenna is 82%.A reasonable gain is obtained from 1.22 to 3.31 dB within the operating bands is *** proposed antenna supports UniversalMobile Telecommunication System(UMTS)-1920 to 2170 MHz,Worldwide Interoperability and Microwave Access(WiMAX)/Wireless Broadband/(Long Term Evolution)LTE2500–2500 to 2690 MHz,Fifth Generation(5G)-2500/3500 MHz,Wireless Fidelity(Wi-Fi)/Bluetooth-2400 to 2480 MHz,and Satellite communication applications in X-Band-8000 to 12000 *** overall planar dimension of the proposed antenna is 40×*** antennawas designed,along with the parametric study,using Electromagnetic(EM)simulation *** antenna prototype is fabricated for experimental validation with the simulated *** proposed antenna is low profile,tunable,lightweight,cheap to fabricate and highly efficient and hence is deemed suitable for use in modern wireless communication electronic devices.

Development of bis-thiobarbiturates as successful urease inhibitors and their molecular modeling studies

Bis-thiobarbiturate derivatives 1-15 have been synthesized, characterized by 1HNMR and El-MS and screened for urease inhibition. All compounds showed various degree of urease inhibitory activity with iC50 values ranging 7.45 ± 0.12 - 74.24 ± 0.81 μmol/L while the standard thiourea behaved normally （ICso = 21.10 ±0.12）. Compounds I （IC50= 7.45 ± 0.12 ]μmol/L）, 9 （IC50 =18,17 ± 1.03 bmol/L） and 13 （IC50= 8.61 ± 0.45 bmol/L） showed excellent urease inhibitory activity in the series. Molecular modeling studies were performed to understand the binding site with the bimetallic nickel center of the enzyme. Structure-activity relationship has also been established for these compounds. This study identified bis- thiobarbiturate as a novel class of urease inhibitors.

As the revolutionary change in electric power industry begins with the latest communication infrastructure, it is on the verge of a revolutionary transformation to develop a smart grid to meet the requirements of our digital society. Wide Area Power System is made up of plentiful automated transmission and distribution systems with strong communication infrastructure, all operating in a coordinated, proficient and reliable mode. This paper is fretful with the wide area power system load protection scheme and ensuing design requirement that enhances stability as well as control. It discusses the architecture that upgrades the existing scheme by controlling all the control signals traffic between generating units, server, connected loads, and protection devices using WIMAX. The main theme of the paper is on the use of information technology to obtain more flexibility and smartness in the Wide Area Power System Load Protection by designing the Communication channel using WIMAX. Faults detected in Local area networks and Information regarding the faults of Local Areas is communicated to Load Area Manager (LAM) which takes required control action to handle it. Finally the paper shows islanding operation through WAM for the areas that becomes intensive faulty. Results have been verified in MATLAB/ SIMULIMK.

Static and adaptive feedback control for synchronization of different chaotic oscillators with mutually Lipschitz nonlinearities

This paper addresses the control law design for synchronization of two different chaotic oscillators with mutually Lipschitz nonlinearities. For analysis of the properties of two different nonlinearities, an advanced mutually Lipschitz condition is proposed. This mutually Lipschitz condition is more general than the traditional Lipschitz condition. Unlike the latter, it can be used for the design of a feedback controller for synchronization of chaotic oscillators of different dynamics. It is shown that any two different Lipschitz nonlinearities always satisfy the mutually Lipschitz condition. Applying the mutually Lipschitz condition, a quadratic Lyapunov function and uniformly ultimately bounded stability, easily designable and implementable robust control strategies utilizing algebraic Riccati equation and linear matrix inequalities, are derived for synchronization of two distinct chaotic oscillators. Furthermore, a novel adaptive control scheme for mutually Lipschitz chaotic systems is established by addressing the issue of adaptive cancellation of unknown mismatch between the dynamics of different chaotic systems. The proposed control technique is numerically tested for synchronization of two different chaotic Chua＇s circuits and for obtaining identical behavior between the modified Chua＇s circuit and the R6ssler system.

Response of basement wall in tall buildings foundation under lateral loading

With increasing population and limitation of availability of land,tall buildings supported on piled raft foundations are increasingly used in the modern *** increase the ratio of floor area to height,and to fulfill storage and parking facilities requirements,these tall buildings usually have more than one basement ***,during the foundation design,engineers have not considered the basement wall contribution to resisting lateral load induced by earthquake or wind and this can result in an uneconomical construction of *** this research work,an experimental study was performed on small-scale models,in order to study basement wall contribution,and the raft contribution including for piled raft foundations,to resisting lateral *** configurations of piles in 2×2,2×3,and 3×3 patterns were tested as a pile group,piled raft and piled raft with a basement *** show that when a basement wall is present,the lateral displacement decreases and the demand on each pile *** piled raft design can become more economical for tall buildings if the basement’s walls are taken into account.

Streptococcus agalactiae is one of the most common pathogens that cause bovine mastitis worldwide. Identifying pathogen prevalence and virulence factors is critical for developing prevention and control approaches. Herein, 1 161 milk samples from various dairy farms in China(n=558) and Pakistan(n=603) were collected between 2019–2021 and were subjected to S. agalactiae isolation. Prevalence, serotyping, virulence genes, and antibiotic-resistant genes of S. agalactiae were evaluated by PCR assay. All isolates were characterized for haemolysis, biofilm production, cytotoxicity, adhesion, and invasion on bovine mammary epithelial cells. The prevalence of S. agalactiae-induced mastitis in cattle was found to be considerably higher in Pakistan than in China. Jiangsu and Sindh provinces had the highest area-wise prevalence in China and Pakistan, respectively. Serotypes Ia and II were prevalent in both countries, whereas serotype III was found only in Pakistan. Moreover, all isolates tested positive for PI-2b gene but negative for PI-1 and PI-2a genes. All isolates harboured cfb, cylE, hylB, and fbsB virulent genes, whereas many of them lacked bibA, rib and bca. However, the absence of bac and scp genes in Chinese isolates and cspA in Pakistani isolates was noted, while spb1 and lmb were not detected in isolates of both countries. Pakistani isolates, particularly serotype Iapositive, had a considerably higher ability to produce biofilm, haemolysis, cytotoxicity, adhesion, and invasion than Chinese isolates. Most of the isolates were phenotypically resistant to tetracycline, erythromycin, and clindamycin and genotypic resistance was confirmed by the presence of ermA, ermB, tetM and tetO genes. Our study highlights the antimicrobial resistance profile and virulence-related factors contributing to the epidemiological spread of mastitis-causing S. agalactiae in China and Pakistan. The high permeability and strong selectivity of nanoporous silicon nitride(NPN)membranes make them attractive in a broad range of *** their growing use,the strength of NPN membranes needs to be improved for further extending their biomedical *** this work,we implement a deep learning framework to design NPN membranes with improved or prescribed strength *** examine the predictions of our framework using physics-based *** results confirm that the proposed framework is not only able to predict the strength of NPN membranes with a wide range of microstructures,but also can design NPN membranes with prescribed or improved *** simulations further demonstrate that the microstructural heterogeneity that our framework suggests for the optimized design,lowers the stress concentration around the pores and leads to the strength improvement of NPN membranes as compared to conventional membranes with homogenous microstructures.

Water is essential for the growth period of crops;however,water unavailability badly affects the growth and physiological attributes of crops,which considerably reduced the yield and yield components in ***,a pot experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of foliar phosphorus(P)on morphological,gas exchange,biochemical traits,and phosphorus use efficiency(PUE)of maize(Zea mays L.)hybrids grown under normal as well as water deficit situations at the Department of Agronomy,University of Agriculture Faisalabad,Pakistan in *** different treatments(control and P@8 kg ha^(−1))and four hybrids(Hycorn,31P41,65625,and 32B33)of maize were tested by using a randomized complete block design(RCBD)with three *** showed that the water stress caused a remarkable decline in total soluble protein(9.7%),photosynthetic rate(9.4%)and transpiration rate(13.4%),stomatal conductance(10.2%),and internal CO_(2)rate(20.4%)comparative to well-watered *** increase of 37.1%,36.8%,and 24.5%were recorded for proline,total soluble sugar,and total free amino acid,***,foliar P application minimized the negative impact of drought by improving plant growth,physio-biochemical attributes,and PUE in maize plants under water stress *** the hybrids tested,the hybrid 6525 performed better both under stress and non-stress *** outcomes confirmed that the exogenous application of P improved drought stress tolerance by modulating growth,physio-biochemical attributes,and PUE of maize hybrids.
