Simulation can be defined as malingering, or sometimes functional visual loss (FVL). It manifests as either simulating an ophthalmic disease (positive simulation), or denial of ophthalmic disease (negative simulation). Conscious behavior and compensation or indemnity claims are prominent features of simulation. Since some authors suggest that this is a manifestation of underlying psychopathology, even conversion is included in this context. In today's world, every ophthalmologist can face with simulation of ophthalmic disease or disorder. In case of simulation suspect, the physician's responsibility is to prove the simulation considering the disease/disorder first, and simulation as an exclusion. In simulation examinations, the physician should be firm and smart to select appropriate test(s) to convince not only the subject, but also the judge in case of indemnity or compensation trials. Almost all ophthalmic sensory and motor functions including visual acuity, visual field, color vision and night vision can be the subject of simulation. Examiner must be skillful in selecting the most appropriate test. Apart from those in the literature, we included all kinds of simulation in ophthalmology. In addition, simulation examination techniques, such as, use of OCT (optical coherence tomography), frequency doubling perimetry (FDP), and modified polarization tests were also included. In this review, we made a thorough literature search, and added our experiences to give the readers up-to-date information on malingering or simulation in ophthalmology.

The blast wave model with Tsallis statistics is used to analyze the transverse momentum spectra of protons(p),deuterons(d),and tritons(t)in√S_(NN)=200 GeV gold-gold(Au-Au)collisions at the RHIC in various centrality *** particular transverse momentum ranges,the model results closely match experimental data from the PHENIX(p)and STAR(d and t)*** data are compared with those of protons obtained in Cu+Cu collisions and deuterons and tritons in Ru+Ru collisions at a center of mass energy of 200 GeV from the STAR *** spectra are used to derive the kinetic freeze-out temperatures,transverse flow velocities,and freeze-out *** to the findings,the kinetic freeze-out temperature increases from the central to peripheral *** this transition,the transverse flow velocity and freeze-out volume both *** the collisions of both collaborations,this study reveals mass-dependent kinetic freeze-out temperature and differential volume ***,the non-extensivity parameter q decreases with increasing centrality of the studied heavy-ion collisions,and heavier mass particles have smaller values of q,which implies higher degrees of thermalization and equilibrium in more central collisions and for heavier particles.

This study investigated how small and medium enterprises(SMEs) in a country perceive major global risks. The aim was to explore how country attributes and circumstances affect SME assessments of the likelihood,impacts, and rankings of global risks, and to find out if SME risk assessment and rankings differ from the global rankings. Data were gathered using an online survey of manufacturing SMEs in Turkey. The results show that global economic risks and geopolitical risks are of major concern for SMEs, and environmental risks are at the bottom of their ranking. Among the economic risks, fiscal crises in key economies and high structural unemployment or underemployment were found to be the highest risks for the SMEs. Failure of regional or global governance, failure of national governance, and interstate conflict with regional consequences were found to be among the top geopolitical risks for the SMEs. The SMEs considered the risk of largescale cyber-attacks and massive incident of data fraud/theft to be relatively higher than other global technological *** social instability and failure of urban planning were among the top societal risks for the SMEs. Although the global environmental and disaster risks were ranked lowest on the list, man-made environmental damage and disasters and major natural hazard-induced disasters were ranked the highest among this group of risks. Overall, the results show that SMEs at a country level, for example Turkey, perceive global risks differently than the major global players.

Injury severities from heavy vehicle accidents:An exploratory empirical analysis

Despite the importance of heavy vehicles in Australia’s transportation system,little is known on the factors influencing injury severity from accidents involving a single heavy *** vehicular crashes have been one of the main causes of fatal injuries in Australia,and this raises safety concerns for transport authorities,insurance companies,and emergency *** there have been several potential attempts to identify the factors contributing to heavy vehicle crashes and injury severity,it is still necessary to reduce the number of traffic crashes and lower the fatality rate involving heavy *** aims of this study were investigating the effects of heavy trucks’presence in accidents on the injury severity level sustained by the vehicle driver and detecting the contributing factors that lead to specific injury severity ***-and random-parameter ordered probit and logit models were applied for predicting the likelihood of three injury severity categories severe,moderate,and no injury based on data from crashes caused by heavy trucks in Victoria,Australia in *** results showed that the random-parameter ordered probit model performed better than the other models *** variables(i.e.,factors)were found to be significant,and 12 of them were found to have random parameters that were normally *** some of the investigated factors had different effects on the type of injury severity in Australia,this paper does not recommend generalizing the findings from other case *** on the findings,Victoria state authorities can have insight and enhanced understanding of the specific factors that lead to various types of injury severity involving heavy ***,the safety of all road users,including heavy vehicle drivers,can be enhanced.

The adsorption behavior, antibacterial, and corrosion properties of a Ti-3 Cu alloy were studied in a phosphate-buffered saline solution containing 0, 1, 3, and 6 gL^(-1) bovine serum albumin protein at 37℃ and pH = 7.4(±0.2). The protein adsorption behavior was examined via cyclic voltammetry, secondary ions mass spectroscopy(SIMS), and angle-resolved X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(ARXPS). The corrosion property was analyzed by the open circuit potential(OCP), potentiodynamic polarization(PD),and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS) examinations. The antibacterial test was conducted according to the GB/T 21510 China Standard. It was observed that the surface charge density(QA DS) was directly proportional to the amount of the adsorbed BSA protein, signifying that the protein adsorption was accompanied by the charge transfer, pointing to chemisorptions phenomena. BSA amino groups and other organic species were observed in the surface analysis examinations. It was shown that the formation of barrier complexes between the TiO_(2) oxide-layer and PBS solution resulted in decreasing the release of Cu-ions, which consequently reduced the antibacterial activity. On the other hand, these barrier complexes improved the corrosion resistance by increasing the charge transfer resistance and double-layer capacitance of the Ti-3 Cu alloy.

Software-defined networking(SDN)makes network agile and flexible due to its programmable *** extensive network has multiple domains in SDN for the scalability and performance of the ***,the inter-domain link is also crucial for the stability of the entire network on the data plane *** than one inter-domain connection enhances the scalability of the data plane ***,it faces a reachability problem with the principal root,which causes forwarding loops and packet drops in the network,thereby degrading network *** proposed solution is a multiple controller architecture;however,this approach increases the complexity and affects network ***,in this study,we propose a framework that avoids forwarding loops and packet drops without the synchronization of multiple-domain controllers in the network using an avoid loop with test packet ***,we collect the link status for improved routing and load balancing for the upcoming flow across inter-domain links to prevent congestion and increase throughput in real *** proposed methodology can significantly reduce the controller workload against multiple controller architecture,minimize flow setup latency,and improve throughput.

Objective:To scrutinize patterns of multi-drug-resistant uropathogenic Escherichia coli(UPEC) strains and particularly of fluoroquinolone-resistance this is an alternative choice for the treatment of urinary tract ***:Bacterial samples(n = 250) were collected from out-patients from August 2012 to August 2014 *** susceptibility profiling and determination of minimum inhibitory concentrations(MICs) and minimum bactericidal concentrations were performed according to the guidelines of Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute(CLSI,2012).Genes,qnrA,qnrB and qnrS were identified by DNA amplification and ***:The highest percentage of UPEC isolates were resistant to co-trimoxazole(82%) followed by cephalothin(80%),2nd Gen,3rd Gen and 4th Gen cephalosporins,*** against gentamicin,amikacin remained 29% and 4%.For other drugs including nitrofurantoin,tetracycline,carbapenem and beta-lactam inhibitors remained below 10%.Altogether,59% of the isolates were resistant to at least three antibiotics including one ***,MICs for ciprofloxacin remained(MIC≥256 μg/mL) and for levofloxacin(MIC≥16 μg/mL and 32 μg/mL).No significant differences were observed regarding MIC values of extended spectrumβ-lactamase(ESBL) and non-ESBL *** qnrS and qnrB positive isolates MICs remained above 32 μg/*** of UPEC was significantly higher among females and 40% of the isolates were ESBL ***:Higher percentages of ESBL producing UPEC were associated with urinary tract ***,the majority of these isolates were multi-drug resistant and fluoroquinolone-resistant.
