Thiswork investigates an oblique stagnation point flowof hybrid nanofluid over a rigid surface with power lawfluidas lubricated layers. Copper (Cu) and Silver (Ag) solid particles are used as hybrid particles acting in water H2O asa base fluid. The mathematical formulation of flow configuration is presented in terms of differential systemthat isnonlinear in nature. The thermal aspects of the flow field are also investigated by assuming the surface is a heatedsurface with a constant temperature T. Numerical solutions to the governing mathematical model are calculatedby the RK45 algorithm. The results based on the numerical solution against various flow and thermal controllingparameters are presented in terms of line graphs. The specific results depict that the heat flux increases over thelubricated-indexed parameter.

光子纳米射流由于其具有克服衍射极限的处理能力,在激光加工、纳米光刻、光学高密度存储、超分辨率显微等领域有着广泛的应用。本文通过将静态微球转变为运动状态,在激光同步辐照下,重叠烧蚀的坑在ITO基板上形成图形化的纳米凹槽。由此,光子纳米射流从“点”加工扩展到“线”加工。所制备的纳米沟槽具有良好的连续性和一致性。此外,沟槽的尺寸形貌可以通过调控微球直径和刻蚀速度来实现。最后,通过在ITO玻璃衬底上刻蚀矢量图,证明了该方法在微纳制造方面的优势和潜力。此方法将在半导体材料、传感器、微流控器件、表面增强拉曼散射(SERS)、生物医学、纳米科学和纳米工程等领域发挥重要作用。

Contagious bovine Pleuropneumonia (CBPP) is an infectious and highly contagious respiratory disease of cattle and water buffalo, caused by the Mycoplasma mycoides subspecies mycoides. It induces significant economic losses and leads to a severe livestock production problem, negatively influencing people’s livelihoods of affected countries. In Somalia, there is no updated data on the prevalence and distribution of the disease. Hence, a descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted from September 2022 to June 2023 in different villages under the Afgoye District of lower Shabelle region, Somalia. The main purpose of this study is to assess the sero-prevalence and identify the associated risk factors for the occurrence of the disease. In this study, villages, age, sex, breed, and body condition were considered as risk factors. A total of 90 blood samples were collected and tested in the laboratory using the Anti-CBPP Elisa kit test. Out of 90 serum samples from herd cattle, 32 were positive, resulting in an overall prevalence of 35.5%. In addition, we found a statistically significant variation between the prevalence of the disease and factors such as sex, age, body condition and breeds. In summary, the overall prevalence of Contagious bovine pleuropneumonia in this study area is worth to be considered because there is a low quality of health care and less awareness of the Contagious bovine Pleuropneumonia effects on herds, which warrants the official authorities to act and follow appropriate preventive and control measures to reduce the incidence of the disease and generate appropriate controlling and prevention measures in all regions of Somalia.

巴基斯坦拥有世界上最大的制药工业之一,600多家制药公司接受巴基斯坦药品监管局(DRAP)的管辖。药监局负责监管制药公司并试图提高技术转让的透明度。巴基斯坦的制药行业已经实现大规模生产,为了在全球药品出口中变得更具竞争力,现在需要专注于创新。如何推动医药行业的创新转移成为政府和企业面临的重要问题。虽然已经有许多关于世界各地制药行业创新的研究,但涉及巴基斯坦的相关文献和数据很少,特别是缺乏关于创新模式及其在该行业的相对表现的研究,这意味着需要进行相应研究,同时考虑融资的可及性,这在基于创新的举措以及产品和流程的创新绩效中都发挥着重要作用。本文旨在衡量巴基斯坦制药行业封闭式和开放式这两种创新模式的有效性及其对创新绩效的影响。此外,本研究还将检验银行贷款可获度在开放式和封闭式创新、创新绩效及其子领域如工艺创新绩效和产品创新绩效之间的调节作用。通过学习相关文献,本文建立了开放式创新和封闭式创新对创新绩效影响的概念模型,并提出了 12个假设。通过对巴基斯坦各地制药公司的代表进行问卷调查这样的一手方式,共收集到206份有效问卷样本。利用SPSS软件通过相关和回归分析方法识别变量之间的关系,检验开放式创新、封闭式创新、银行贷款获取与产品或工艺创新绩效之间的关系。实证结果表明:(1)开放式创新和封闭式创新对创新绩效均有正向影响,开放式创新对创新绩效的影响强于封闭式创新;(2)银行贷款可获度对两类创新与创新绩效的关系具有调节作用,其中对开放式创新与创新绩效的关系具有更大的调节作用。本文建议包括加强各组织的跨行业研发合作、提供贷款鼓励研发、强调跨行业创新的重要性,以及政府减税和给予更多的优惠等。本研究丰富了创新理论、考察了银行贷款可获度的调节作用,并考虑到了产品创新和工艺创新的表现,有助于更好地理解开放式创新和封闭式创新在巴基斯坦制药公司中发挥的重要作用。这项研究表明,这两种创新模式都可能导致该国更顺利地技术转让,有助于技术创新从而使巴基斯坦制药行业在国际市场上更具竞争力。

IDH knockdown alters foraging behavior in the termite Odontotermes formosanus in different social contexts

Foraging,as an energy-consuming behavior,is very important for colony survival in termites.How energy metabolism related to glucose decomposition and adenosine triphosphate(ATP)production influences foraging behavior in termites is still unclear.Here,we analyzed the change in energy metabolism in the whole organism and brain after silencing the key metabolic gene isocitrate dehydrogenase(IDH)and then investigated its impact on foraging behavior in the subterranean termite Odontotermes formosanus in different social contexts.The IDH gene exhibited higher expression in the abdomen and head of O.formosanus.The knockdown of IDH resulted in metabolic disorders in the whole organism.The dsIDH-injected workers showed significantly reduced walking activity but increased foraging success.Interestingly,IDH knockdown altered brain energy metabolism,resulting in a decline in ATP levels and an increase in IDH activity.Additionally,the social context affected brain energy metabolism and,thus,altered foraging behavior in O.formosanus.We found that the presence of predator ants increased the negative influence on the foraging behavior of dsIDH-injected workers,including a decrease in foraging success.However,an increase in the number of nestmate soldiers could provide social buffering to relieve the adverse effect of predator ants on worker foraging behavior.Our orthogonal experiments further verified that the role of the IDH gene as an inherent factor was dominant in manipulating termite foraging behavior compared with external social contexts,suggesting that energy metabolism,especially brain energy metabolism,plays a crucial role in regulating termite foraging behavior.

采用改进的、可施加负压的三轴仪开展了真空预压、堆载预压以及真空-堆载联合预压作用下软土的固结蠕变试验,描述了加载率、应力比和时间等对软土蠕变特性的影响,分析了轴向应变(率)、体积应变(率)及偏应变(率)与应力比和时间之间的关系。结果表明:轴向应变率和体积应变率与时间的对数关系并非线性,但经过若干天以后可近似认为是线性关系;在不同应力比n下,体应变与时间的关系可用双曲线方程来表示;偏应变、偏应变率与时间的关系符合双曲线方程,通过温州软黏土样的蠕变试验结果验证了其有效性。

A multi-faceted Case Area Targeted Intervention (CATI) approach emphasizing the integration of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) interventions and Oral Cholera Vaccine (OCV) campaign was employed to respond to the outbreak of cholera in Garissa County. Drinking water sources in areas heavily impacted by cholera were systematically mapped and tested for microbiological quality. The quality assessment was carried out in April 2023 during an ongoing cholera outbreak in the county. A total of 109 samples were collected and tested for thermotolerant coliforms and other in situ parameters. The finding revealed that more than 87% of the samples did not meet the World Health Organization (WHO) standard for thermotolerant coliforms;and 30% had turbidity values above the recommended threshold values. None of the 109 samples had any traceable residual chlorine. Following these findings, the county government implemented the targeted interventions which resulted in a positive impact in the fight against cholera. The WHO supported key interventions which included capacity building in water quality monitoring and prepositioning of critical WASH commodities to the cholera affected areas.
