A comparative study on using meta-heuristic algorithms for road maintenance planning:Insights from field study in a developing country

Optimized road maintenance planning seeks for solutions that can minimize the life-cycle cost of a road network and concurrently maximize pavement condition. Aiming at pro- posing an optimal set of road maintenance solutions, robust meta-heuristic algorithms are used in research. Two main optimization techniques are applied including single-objective and multi-objective optimization. Genetic algorithms （GA）, particle swarm optimization （PSO）, and combination of genetic algorithm and particle swarm optimization （GAPSO） as single-objective techniques are used, while the non-domination sorting genetic algorithm II （NSGAII） and multi-objective particle swarm optimization （MOPSO） which are sufficient for solving computationally complex large-size optimization problems as multi-objective techniques are applied and compared. A real case study from the rural transportation network of Iran is employed to illustrate the sufficiency of the optimum algorithm. The formulation of the optimization model is carried out in such a way that a cost-effective maintenance strategy is reached by preserving the performance level of the road network at a desirable level. So, the objective functions are pavement performance maximization and maintenance cost minimization. It is concluded that multi-objective algorithms including non-domination sorting genetic algorithm II （NSGAII） and multi-objective particle swarm optimization performed better than the single objective algorithms due to the capability to balance between both objectives. And between multi-objective algorithms the NSGAII provides the optimum solution for the road maintenance planning.

Effect of Different Bioassay Methods on Enzymatic Characteristics of Cotton Aphid, Aphis gossypfi Glover （Hemiptera：Aphididae）

In this study, the susceptibility of three populations of cotton aphid, Aph＆ gossypii Glover （Hemiptera：Aphididae） was assayed to imidacloprid （35SC） and thiametoxam （50WG）. The involvement of metabolic enzymes in the resistance strain of cotton aphid to the neonicotinoids was determined by the biochemical biomarkers and the resistance mechanism was determined as CaE. In another study, three different bioassay experiments were designed for detecting the susceptibility of cotton aphid to imidacloprid and thiametoxam and the effect of these two insecticides on the enzymatic activity of cotton aphid was assessed in the adult aphids treated with three different bioassay methods using a modified version of the FAO dip test, residue bioassay procedure and starvation method. Our findings suggested that the type of bioassay methods is very important when aphids＇ populations assess for the resistance against the neonicotinod insecticides. It has shown the starvation method is the most reliable method compared with other methods.

Energy Metabolism Pattern in Cotton Aphid, Aphis gossypii Glover （Hem.： Aphididae） Exposure to Neonicotinoids

This study was mainly made on the role of energy revisers in cotton aphid, Aphis gossypii Glover （Hemiptera： Aphididae） countered with imidacloprid and thiametoxam. We measured used energy, available energy and the content of total energy in three strains of cotton aphid which were from very resistant to neonicotinoid, sup to semi-sensitive and sensitive speccies, respectively. It was observed changes in energy resources rate in all of the aphid strains at which each substrate was metabolized under stress. Our findings indicated among energy sources, total lipid in susceptible strain was increased in counter of spraying and it was decreased in resistance and semi sensitive strains. Whereas, total protein was decreased in all of the strains encountering with neonicotiniod stress. Total glycogen was increased significantly in different aphid strains and sugar was decreased in countered of spraying.

Energy Intensity and Fitness Cost of Cotton aphid Exposure to Neonicotinoids

Three populations of Aphis gossypii of distinct susceptibility to neonicotinoids show differences in the accumulation and mobilization of energy reserves, what may allow the production of their defensive tools against two neonicotinoid insecticides without impairing their reproductive performance. Bioassays were also carried out for these aphid populations. According to the results obtained, the Ag-R population showed resistant rate significantly higher than the other two populations. Levels of some biochemical characteristics were determined in the resistant, susceptible and semi susceptible populations of cotton aphid. The results obtained in the assays with biochemical parameters indicated significant differences in activity among the populations, with higher activity in using glycogen in the Ag-R population. The inverse activity trends oft （generation time） and DT （doubling time） in both resistant and susceptible populations, one showing fitness disadvantage without insecticide exposure and the other not showing it, may underlay the mitigation of insecticide resistance physiological costs observed in the Ag-R population.

SARS-CoV-2 is an emerging viral pathogen and a major global public health challenge since December of 2019, with limited effective treatments throughout the *** part of the innate immune response to viral infection, type Ⅰ interferons(IFN-Ⅰ) trigger a signaling cascade that culminates in the activation of hundreds of genes, known as interferon stimulated genes(ISGs), that collectively foster an antiviral *** report here the identification of a group of type Ⅰ interferon suppressed genes,including fatty acid synthase(FASN), which are involved in lipid *** of FASN or the addition of its downstream product, palmitate, increased viral infection while knockout or knockdown of FASN reduced *** importantly, pharmacological inhibitors of FASN effectively blocked infections with a broad range of viruses, including SARS-CoV-2 and its variants of ***, our studies not only suggest that downregulation of metabolic genes may present an antiviral strategy by type Ⅰ interferon, but they also introduce the potential for FASN inhibitors to have a therapeutic application in combating emerging infectious diseases such as COVID-19.

Optimization of ANFIS Network Using Particle Swarm Optimization Modeling of Scour around Submerged Pipes

In general,submerged pipes passing over the sedimentary bed of seas are installed for transmitting oil and gas to coastal *** stability of submerged pipes can be threatened with waves and coastal flows occurring at coastal *** this study,for the first time,the adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system(ANFIS)is optimized using the particle swarm optimization(PSO)algorithm,and a meta-heuristic artificial intelligence model is developed for simulating the scour pattern around submerged pipes located in sedimentary ***,six ANFIS-PSO models are developed by means of parameters affecting the scour ***,the superior model is detected through sensitivity *** model has the function of all input *** calculated correlation coefficient and scatter index for this model are 0.993 and 0.047,*** ratio of the pipe distance from the sedimentary bed to the submerged pipe diameter is introduced as the most effective input *** significantly improves the performance of the ANFIS *** 36% of the scour depths simulated using the ANFIS model have an error less than 5%,whereas the value for ANFIS-PSO is roughly 72%.

Determination of hard tick species (Acarina:Ixodidae) on sheep and cattle in Hamedan Province, Iran

Objective:To determine the fauna and frequency of hard tick species on sheep and cattle in Hamedan Province,Western ***:Tick sampling was performed on the whole body of 18000 sheep and 4200 cattle in 3 rural regions(mountain,plateau,and plain-mountainous zone)during the year of 2010 to *** ticks were identified with appropriate identification ***:A total of 1534 hard ticks(62.1%male and 37.9%female)were collected in *** infestation rate was found 2.4%in animals(4.2%in cattle and 2.0%in sheep).The ticks were classified into 3 genera and 7 species including:Hyalomma marginatum(34.1%),Hyalomma excavatum(29.7%),Rhipicephalus bursa(13.8%),Rhipicephalus sanguineus(7.5%),Hyalomma detritum(7.1%),Haemaphysalis punctata(5.1%)and Hyalomma dromedarii(2.7%).Conclusions:Current study is the first report of fauna and frequency of hard ticks in this *** results showed that Hyalomma marginatum is the dominant hard tick *** studies are needed to determine the importance of Ixodidae ticks of veterinary and public health in this region of Iran.

从1994年北岭地震中可看到,栓焊节点的抗震性能较差。因此,常用于工业建筑和高层建筑中的抗弯框架多采用端板连接和T型螺栓连接。采用有限元方法,通过改变螺栓的纵横布置对比了14个试件的滞回性能。结果表明:假定两者总的耗能能力相同,则T型螺栓连接的抗弯能力和初始转动刚度均比基于AISC规范设计的端板螺栓连接高。在往复荷载作用下,螺栓布置的改变对T型螺栓连接破坏模式的影响要大于端板连接,端板连接更适用于具有初始几何缺陷的结构。

手背部嗜中性皮肤病与Sweet综合征的关系:9例病例报道及与非典型坏疽性脓皮病的比较

Background: Neutrophilic dermatoses are a collection of diseases with varying presentation unified by clinical and histologic features. Neutrophilic dermatosis of the dorsal hands is a recently described clinical entity and an evolving disease concept. Its relationship to acute febrile neutrophilic dermatosis (Sweet syndrome), pyoderma gangrenosum, and a primary vasculitis has been debated. Observations: We present 9 cases (8 women and 1 man) of neutrophilic dermatosis of the dorsal hands, all with consistent histologic features. Two cases had histologic evidence of vasculitis, and 3 had clinical extension of lesions onto the forearms. Most showed fever, leukocytosis, and/or elevated erythrocyte sedimentation rate. Individual cases were associated with leukemia, lung carcinoma, and inflammatory bowel disease. All 9 patients responded to systemic corticosteroid therapy, with additional response to dapsone, methotrexate, and potassium iodide therapies in several cases. Of the 9 patients, 5 showed complete resolution of their skin disease, whereas 4 required ongoing therapy. We assessed the 43 cases previously reported in the literature. Conclusion: The clinical presentation, laboratory data, histologic features, and response to corticosteroid therapy offer strong evidence that neutrophilic dermatosis of the dorsal hands is a localized variant of Sweet syndrome and is also identical to atypical pyoderma gangrenosumwhen that condition presents on the hands.
