近年来,中东地区,特别是海湾合作委员会(GCC)国家,如阿联酋、沙特阿拉伯和卡塔尔,其生活用纸市场经历了一次变革之旅。作为发展中的生活用纸市场,当地由石油资源带来的经济增长、经济多元化和强大的基础设施建设等因素,推动了该地区的城市化进程,带来了更忙碌的生活方式和更加清洁的卫生习惯,支撑了生活用纸产品的需求增长。2022年,中东地区的生活用纸零售额增长率达到5%,由于通胀影响,相比前一年3%的增长率略有加速,而2022年的销售量增长率约为3%,与前几年的水平相一致。

An inversion method was applied to crustal earthquakes dataset to find S-wave attenuation characteristics beneath the Eastern Tohoku region of Japan. Accelerograms from 85 shallow crustal earthquakes up to 25 km depth and magnitude range between 3.5 and 5.5 were analyzed to estimate the seismic quality factor Qs. A homogeneous attenuation model Qs for the wave propagation path was evaluated from spectral amplitudes, at 24 different frequencies between 0.5 and 20 Hz by using generalized inversion technique. To do this, non-parametric attenuation functions were calculated to observe spectral amplitude decay with hypocentral distance. Then, these functions were parameterized to estimate Qs. It was found that in Eastern Tohoku region, the Qs frequency dependence can be approximated with the function 33 f 1.22 within a frequency range between 0.5 and 20 Hz. However, the frequency dependence of Qs in the frequency range between 0.5 and 6 Hz is best approximated by Qs （f） = 36 f 0.94 showing relatively weaker frequency dependence as compared to the relation Qs （f） = 6 f^ 2.09 for the frequency range between 6 and 15 Hz. These results could be used to estimate source and site parameters for seismic hazard assessment in the region.

随着卫生意识的提高,自然应该体现在生活用纸消费量的稳步提高上。但近两年,大流行引起的人们消费和工作方式的转变,与消费量稳增正好恰恰相反,公共场所用/商用生活用纸受到重创,消费量下降23%,另外加上增值税的大幅增加、价值份额的损失、广泛的价格折扣等不利的因素导致公共场所用/商用生活用纸市场环境更加恶劣。而这些市场结构也与大流行前所预测的由于人口的有机增长而会使生活用纸消费量逐渐提高背道而驰。

The reserve estimation of coal bed methane(CBM)reservoirs is ascertained through the analytical methods(volumetric method,material balance equation and decline curve analysis).However,the adoption of reserve estimation methods depends on exploration stage and availability of the required parameters.This study deals with the analytical assessment of parameters that participate in effecting the reserve estimation of CBM reservoirs through the analytical techniques.The accurate measurement challenges always exist for the parameters which participate in the reserve estimation of the conventional and unconventional reservoirs because of the inclusion of limitations while measurement.Therefore,the impact of that measurement challenge must be assessed.The study specifies the impact of parametric change on the reserve estimation of CBM reservoirs so that the degree of parametric effectiveness is analyzed.Uncertain values are adopted which are associated during the evaluation of input parameters for each method to determine the overall impact on potential of CBM reserves.Results reveal that change in specific parameters considering each method provide relatively more effect on estimation of reserves.Thus,the measurement of parameters must be done accurately for assessing reserves of CBM reservoirs based on available methods.

From Social Media to Ballot Box:Leveraging Location-Aware Sentiment Analysis for Election Predictions

Corporate Environmental reporting is attracting attention of stakeholders over time. Businesses have to consider this factor in order to satisfy community at large. In this study, the trend of environmental reporting is scrutinized in the context of Pakistani firms. For the purpose of analysis, annual reports of twelve sectors are studied for a period of 5 years from 2005-2009. Out of the 45 companies selected, annual reports of 31 companies are studied, as the rest had no environment related disclosures at all. Using content analysis, it was found out that currently the situation of environmental reporting and disclosure is not appreciable in Pakistan. However, though voluntary in nature, the trend is seen to be increasing over the years with drastic increase observed in the year 2007. Furthermore, the comparison of qualitative and quantitative reporting showed that all data reported is in qualitative terms with little significance given to quantitative disclosure.

Predicting election outcomes is a crucial undertaking,and various methods are employed for this purpose,such as traditional opinion polling,and social media analysis.However,traditional polling approaches often struggle to capture the intricate nuances of voter sentiment at local levels,resulting in a limited depth of analysis and understanding.In light of this challenge,this study focuses on predicting elections at the state/regional level along with the country level,intending to offer a comprehensive analysis and deeper insights into the electoral process.To achieve this,the study introduces the Location-Based Election Prediction Model(LEPM),which utilizes social media data,specifically Twitter,and integrates location-aware sentiment analysis techniques at both the state/region and country levels.LEPM predicts the support and opposing strength of each political party/candidate.To determine the location of users/voters who have not disclosed their location information in tweets,the model utilizes a Voter Location Detection(VotLocaDetect)approach,which leverages recent tweets/posts.The sentiment analysis techniques employed in this study include rule-based sentiment analysis,Valence Aware Dictionary and Sentiment Reasoner(VADER)as well as transformers-based sentiment analysis such as Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers(BERT),BERTweet,and Election based BERT(ElecBERT).This study uses the 2020 United States(US)Presidential Election as a case study.By applying the LEPM model to the election,the study demonstrates its ability to accurately predict outcomes in forty-one states,achieving an 0.84 accuracy rate at the state level.Moreover,at the country level,the LEPM model outperforms traditional polling results.With a low Mean Absolute Error(MAE)of 0.87,the model exhibits more precise predictions and serves as a successful alternative to conventional polls and other methodologies.Leveraging the extensive social media data,the LEPM model provides nuanced insights into voter behavior,enabling policym

We study the traveling wave and other solutions of the perturbed Kaup-Newell Schrodinger dynamical equation that signifies long waves parallel to the magnetic field.The wave solutions such as bright-dark(solitons),solitary waves,periodic and other wave solutions of the perturbed Kaup-Newell Schrodinger equation in mathematical physics are achieved by utilizing two mathematical techniques,namely,the extended F-expansion technique and the proposed exp(-φ(ξ))-expansion technique.This dynamical model describes propagation of pluses in optical fibers and can be observed as a special case of the generalized higher order nonlinear Schrodinger equation.In engineering and applied physics,these wave results have key applications.Graphically,the structures of some solutions are presented by giving specific values to parameters.By using modulation instability analysis,the stability of the model is tested,which shows that the model is stable and the solutions are exact.These techniques can be fruitfully employed to further sculpt models that arise in mathematical physics.
