The brain is a highly complex system. Under-standing the behavior and dynamics of billions of interconnected neurons from the brain signal requires knowledge of several signal- process-ing techniques, from the linear and non-linear domains. The analysis of EEG signals plays an important role in a wide range of applications, such as psychotropic drug research, sleep studies, seizure detection and hypnosis proc-essing. In this paper we accomplish to analyze and explore the nature of hypnosis in Right, Left, Back and Frontal hemisphere in 3 groups of hypnotizable subjects by means of Fuzzy Simi-larity Index method.

One of the best ways for better understanding of biological experiments is mathematical modeling. Modeling cancer is one of the complicated biological modeling that has uncertainty. Therefore, fuzzy models have studied because of their application in achievement uncertainty in modeling. Overall, the main purpose of this modeling is creating a new view of complex phenomena. In this paper, fuzzy differential equation model consisting of tumor, the immune system and normal cells has been studied. Model derived from a classical model DePillis in 2003, which some parameters from a clinical point of view can be described in the region. In this model, by considering fuzzy parameters from clinical point of view, the three-dimensional fuzzy tumor cells in terms of time and membership function are pictured and region of uncertainties are determined. To access the uncertainty area we use fuzzy differential inclusion method that is one of the including methods of solving differential equations. Also, different initial conditions on the model are inserted and the results of them are analyzed because tumor has different treatment in different initial conditions. Results show that fuzzy models in the best way justify what happens in the reality.

Extracting a seizure intensity index from one-channel EEG signal using bispectral and detrended fluctuation analysis

Epilepsy is a medical condition that produces seizures affecting a variety of mental and physical functions. Seizures can last from a few seconds to a few minutes. They can have many symptoms, from convulsions and loss of consciousness to blank staring, lip smacking, or jerking movements of arms and legs. If early warning signals of an upcoming seizure (diagnosis of preictal period) are detected, proper treatment can be applied to the patient to help prevent the seizure. In this research, an epileptic disorder has been divided into three subsets: Normal, Preictal (just before the seizure), and Ictal (during seizure). By using Detrended Fluctuation Analysis (DFA), Bispectral Analysis (BIS), and Standard Deviation (SD) three features from single-channel EEG signals have been derived in the foresaid groups. A fuzzy classifier is used to separate the three groups which can successfully separate them with a separation degree of 100% and further a fuzzy inference engine is used to extract a Seizure Intensity Index (SII) from the Electroencephalogram (EEG) signals of the three different states. One can apparently see the distinction of SII amounts between the three states. It is more important when one remembers that these results are just from single-channel EEG signal.

Effect of synthetic fibers on resisting scour caused by horizontal jet

Given that the development of scour downstream of hydraulic structures increases the risk of structural damage,it is important to find cost-effective and environmental approaches to reduce this *** study aimed to experimentally evaluate the effect of synthetic fibers on the scour profile downstream of a sluice gate with a rigid *** were performed with the same Froude number and with different weight percentages of synthetic fibers on both non-cohesive and cohesive *** uniform sand was used as the non-cohesive sediment,and three different cohesive sediments were prepared by mixing different percentages of kaolinite soil with the used *** scouring experiments showed that the presence of synthetic fibers did not considerably affect the scour hole dimension in non-cohesive *** of the scour in the cohesive sediments in silty sand(SM)texture found that an increase in the percentage of silt reduced the scour hole *** effect of synthetic fibers on scour of SM-texture-based sediments was also investigated,and the results showed that increasing the percentage of synthetic fibers decreased the scour hole *** addition,the cohesive sediments in SM texture did not have a similar non-dimensional scour profile,and the presence of synthetic fibers did not significantly affect the scour hole.

A simple and practical ultrasonically synthetic strategy for the preparation of rare-earth based catalyst, nanostructured NiFe2-xEuxO4 was developed. The structtre of NiFe2-xEuxO4 was characterized by various analyses such as X-ray diffraction （XRD）, scanning electron microscopy （SEM） and fourier transform infrared spectroscopy （FT-IR）. The catalytic performance of NiFe2-xEuxO4 was evaluated for the synthesis of benzimidazoles, benzoxazoles and benzothiazoles under ultrasonic irradiation. All reactions were completed in short times and all products were obtained in good to excellent yields in presence of the rare-earth based catalyst. Besides, NiFe2-xEuxO4 could be recovered for 6 times without noticeably decreasing the catalytic activity.

N-benzyl-1-（5-（3-chlorophenyl）-1,3,4-oxadiazol-2-yl）cyclopentanamine was synthesized via one-pot reaction of appropriate benzylamine, cyclopentanone,（N-isocyanimino）triphenylphosphorane and m-chlorobenzoic acid. The quantum theoretical calculations for crystal structure were performed by density functional theory（DFT/B3LYP/6-311＋G＊）. From the optimized structure, geometric parameters were obtained and experimental measurements were compared with the calculated data. Frontier molecular orbitals（FMOs）, total density of states（DOS）, molecular electrostatic potential（MEP）, molecular properties, natural charges, NMR parameters and NBO analysis for the product were investigated by theoretical calculations.

Gd3+-,Pr3+-or Sm3+-doped Co-Zn(Co0.5Zn0.5Fe2 O4)magnetic ferrites(i.e.,Co0.5Zn0.5Gd0.1Fe1.9O4,Co0.5Zn0.5Pr0.1Fe1.9O4 and Co0.5Zn0.5Sm0.1Fe1.9O4)were prepared using a facile sol-gel approach,and the structure,surface morphology and chemical composition of the products were studied by means of scanning electron microscopy(SEM),energy dispersive X-ray analysis(EDX),X-ray diffraction(XRD),UVvisible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy(DRS),photoluminescence(PL)spectroscopy,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR)and vibrating sample magnetometer(VSM)*** patterns show the Co-Zn product is composed of cubic spinel phases with few impurities or secondary phases,and the average crystallite sizes of the samples are determined to be approximately^51—80,~99—181,~68—103 and^83—133 *** the coercivity and remnant and saturation magnetizations,evaluated by vibrating sample magnetometer(VSM),are found to increase linearly with the incorporation of Gd3+,Pr3+and Sm3+in the product *** CO1-xZnxFe2-yRyO4 photocatalyst sample is found to display a red shift in its absorption,and exhibits outstanding photocatalytic effects in the degradation of MO under ultraviolet(UV)*** is attributed to the reduction of the band gap of cobalt-zinc ferrite due to the presence of rare earth *** in vitro evaluations of the cytotoxic effects of the synthesized nanoparticles were performed on a HeLa cell line.
