Economics of Residues Incorporation and Phosphorus Application for Direct Seeded Rice and Wheat under Saline Soil

Two-year long field study was conducted using a permanent layout to investigate the economics of crop residues incorporation (2 t·ha-1) and P application (0, 40, 80 and 120 kg P2O5 ha-1) to directly sowing of rice and wheat crops gown under naturally salt-affected calcareous soil (ECe = 4.59 dS m-1;pHs = 8.38;SAR = 6.57 (mmolc L-1)1/2;CaCO3 = 3.21%;Extractable P = 4.07 mg·kg-1;sandy clay loam) at farmers field in district Hafizabad during the year 2012-13. Split plot design (crop residues in main plots and P application in sub plots) was followed with three replications. Agronomic data on growth and yield were collected at the time of each crop maturity. Maximum growth and yield of both the crops were harvested from the plots where P2O5 was applied @ 80 kg·ha-1 along with crop residues incorporation. On an average of two years, maximum paddy (3.26 t·ha-1) and wheat grain (3.56 t·ha-1) yield were produced with P application @ 80 kg P2O5 ha-1 along with crop residues incorporation. Although, the yield harvested with this treatment (80 kg P2O5 ha-1 + crop residues) performed statistically equal to 120 kg P2O5 ha-1 without crop residues incorporation during both the years, however, on an average of two years, grain yield of directly sowing rice and subsequent wheat was significantly superior (22% and 24% respectively) than that of higher P rate (120 kg·ha-1) without crop residues. Overall, continuous two-year crop residues incorporation further increased (17%) paddy yields during the follow up year of crop harvest. Economic analyses of both the crops were carried out to choose the best treatment with adequate economic benefits as compared to those without crop residue incorporation. Maximum net benefit of Rs = 108,680/- for direct seeded rice and Rs = 99,362/- for wheat grown with 80 kg P2O5 ha-1 application under crop residues incorporation was determined. Purpose: Despite growing interest in perioperative glycemic control, little data existdefining?the optimal value(s) to use to define appropriate glycemic management and the impact on the incidence of surgical site infection (SSI).?The aim of this study?was to assess variation in glycemic response and risk of SSI and hospital stay as defined by themaximum, minimum, and area under the curve for?perioperative glucose in patients undergoing?colectomy. We specifically used standard of care obtained glucose levels to reflect limitations of observations typically used to assess quality of care. Methods: All patients undergoing colectomy from 7/2007?to?6/2008 were assessed for the?maximum and minimum levels of standard of care glucose levels, as well as area under the curve (AUC) for?elevated glucose?perioperatively. These were assessed for patients with and without SSI?(SSI vs nSSI). Results: 183 consecutive patients were evaluated (22 diabetics). The incidence of SSI for?the entire?population was 17/183 (9.3%) without significant difference between the?groups with respect to mean?blood glucose level (SSI-136;nSSI-136). However, the SSI?group had a higher maximum glucose level?(SSI-194;nSSI 162;p??110?mg/dl (SSI-59%;nSSI-62%) or glucose >?150?mg/dl (SSI 6%;nSSI 18%). Conclusions: The data demonstrate that patients with SSI have wider fluctuations inglycemic response?compared to non-SSI when standard of care serum glucose levels?wasreviewed. Therefore, quality program monitoring of glucose impact on SSI should focus on both maximum and minimum levels during the perioperative period to better define process improvement in colectomy patients.

Skull-base tumors are generally difficult to access compared with many other cranial lesions. Usually surgery remains the gold standard treatment for the majority of these tumors. However, in many cases, surgical resection is a challenge because the disease usually is already in the advanced stage by the time of diagnosis. Additionally, there are hypervascular lesions which cause excessive loss of blood, then results in multiple blood transfusions and prolonged operative time, increases the risk of neural injury and prevents complete excision. In order to reduce blood loss intraoperatively, many alternatives were available with the neurosurgical armamentarium, such as head elevation, intravenous use of tranexamic acid, total intravenous anesthesia and even preoperative embolization of tumors. However, preoperative embolization carries variable results, potentially aggravating edema and increasing tumor size. To ascertain the current status and the up-to-date indications, an evaluation of the therapeutic role of preoperative embolization was performed in the current study.

Complex neutrosophic set(CNS)is a modified version of the complex fuzzy set,to cope with complicated and inconsistent information in the environment of fuzzy set *** CNS is characterised by three functions expressing the degree of complex-valued membership,complex-valued abstinence and degree of complex-valued *** aim of this manuscript is to initiate the novel dice similarity measures and generalised dice similarity using *** special cases of the investigated measures are discussed with the help of some ***,some distance measures based on CNS are also proposed in this ***,the authors applied the generalised dice similarity measures and weighted generalised dice similarity measures using CNS to the pattern recognition model to examine the reliability and superiority of the established *** advantages and comparative analysis of the proposed measures with existing measures are also discussed in *** last,a numerical example is provided to illustrate the validity and applicability of the presented measures.

Enormousmethods have been proposed for the detection and segmentation of blur and non-blur regions of the *** to the limited available information about blur type,scenario and the level of blurriness,detection and segmentation is a challenging ***,the performance of the blur measure operator is an essential factor and needs improvement to attain *** this paper,we propose an effective blur measure based on local binary pattern(LBP)with adaptive threshold for blur *** sharpness metric developed based on LBP used a fixed threshold irrespective of the type and level of blur,that may not be suitable for images with variations in imaging conditions,blur amount and ***,the proposed measure uses an adaptive threshold for each input image based on the image and blur properties to generate improved sharpness *** adaptive threshold is computed based on the model learned through support vector machine(SVM).The performance of the proposed method is evaluated using two different datasets and is compared with five state-of-the-art *** analysis reveals that the proposed method performs significantly better qualitatively and quantitatively against all of the compared methods.

The art of cricket bowling is complex and arduous owing to the run-up and ball release time energy requirement to achieve speed and variations. Therefore, human bowlers cannot bowl for extended periods and numerous mechanical bowling machines have been built to help batsmen improve their skills during practice sessions. However, most of these existing machines are designed for spherical balls ignoring the distinguishing physical feature of a cricket ball: the raised equatorial seam, which makes it less of a sphere. The bowlers are known to often benefit from this seam in their pursuit to taking the batsmen's wicket by imparting swing, spin and bounce variations along-with other bowling variables. This lack of the seam consideration creates a void between human and mechanical bowling. In this work, we present design and development of an automatic bowling machine termed as ROBOWLER to make mechanical bowling more realistic. This machine ensures ball seam position as well as fulfills other constraints. Ball pitching and seam position accuracy results underscore the suitability of this design to enhance the capabilities of mechanical bowling.
