Influences of anionic and cationic dopants on the morphology and optical properties of PbS nanostructures

Selenium and zinc are used as anionic and cationic dopant elements to dope PbS nanostructures. The undoped and doped PbS nanostructures are grown using a thermal evaporation method. Scanning electron microscopy （SEM） results show similar morphologies for the undoped and doped PbS nanostructures. X-ray diffraction （XRD） patterns of three sets of the nanostructures indicate that these nanostructures each have a PbS structure with a cubic phase. Evidence of dopant incorporation is demonstrated by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy （XPS）. Raman spectra of the synthesized samples con- firm the XRD results and indicate five Raman active modes, which relate to the PbS cubic phase for all the nanostructures. Room temperature photoluminescence （PL） and UV-Vis spectrometers are used to study optical properties of the undoped and doped PbS nanostructures. Optical characterization shows that emission and absorption peaks are in the infrared （IR） region of the electromagnetic spectrum for all PbS nanostructures. In addition, the optical studies of the doped PbS nanos- tructures reveal that the band gap of the Se-doped PbS is smaller, and the band gap of the Zn-doped PbS is bigger than the band gap of the undoped PbS nanostructures.

A simple and efficient procedure for the preparation of silica-bound N-propyl triethylenetetramine sulfamic acid(SBPTETSA) by the reaction of silica-bound N-propyl triethylenetetramine(SBPTET) with chlorosulfonic acid in chloroform is ***-bound N-propyl triethylenetetramine sulfamic acid was employed as a recyclable catalyst for the synthesis of 2-amino-4,6-diarylnicotinonitriles from the multi-component reaction of an acetophenone derivative,an aromatic aldehyde,malononitrile,and ammonium acetate under solvent-free conditions at 100 °*** heterogeneous catalyst was recycled for five consecutive runs in the optimized multi-component reaction of 4-chloroacetophenone,4-chloroenzaldehyde,malononitrile,and ammonium acetate without significant loses to its catalytic activity.

Excellent photocatalytic performance under visible-light irradiation of ZnS/rGO nanocomposites synthesized by a green method

ZnS/graphene nanocomposites with different graphene concentrations （5, 10 and 15 wt.%） were synthesized using L-cysteine as surfactant and graphene oxide （GO） powders as graphene source. Excellent performance for nanocomposites to remove methylene blue （MB） dye and hexavalent chromium （Cr（VI）） under visible-light illumina- tion was revealed. TEM images showed that ZnS NPs were decorated on GO sheets and the GO caused a significant decrease in the ZnS diameter size. XRD patterns, XPS and FTIR spectroscopy results indicated that GO sheets changed into reduced graphene oxide （rGO） during the synthesis process. Photocurrent measurements under a visible- light source indicated a good chemical reaction between ZnS NPs and rGO sheets.

This paper introduces a novel 4H-SiC SOI-MESFET with a step in buried oxide （SSOI-MESFET） for improving breakdown *** investigate the improvement in device performance with two-dimensional and two-carrier device *** simulation results show that breakdown voltage of SSOI-MESFET is higher than conventional Bulk-MESFET （CB-MESFET） and conventional 4H-SiC SOI-MESFET （CSOI-MESFET）.In this study we have shown that saturation current of the proposed structure is higher than CB-MESFET.

To the Editor：I read with great interest the article by Cao et al[1] re- porting a potential therapeutic utility of p38 inhibitors for acute pancreatitis. Using a preclinical mouse model where acute pancreatitis was induced by administra- tion of cerulein （a cholecystokinin analog derived from the tree frog Litoria caerulea）, the authors reported that the p38 MAPK inhibitor SB203580, administered intra- peritoneally before and after the first administration of cerulein, relieved signs associated with acute pancreatitis, including decreased HSP60 and HSP70 expression, and serum IL-6, amylase and lipase activities. Although the study remains descriptive and pharmacodynamic aspects were not examined in depth, it still has a merit as it undoubtedly provides a basis for further investigation into the potential utility of targeting p38 signaling for acute pancreatitis, a common serious condition that can be life-threatening.

Severity and injury characteristics among matched hospitalized motorcycle drivers and their passengers

Purpose: After car accident, motorcycle accident ranks as the second leading cause of traffic fatality in Iran. This study aimed to compare the severity and clinical presentations between drivers and passengers under the same injury circumstance. Methods: This study was conducted in the trauma center of Shiraz, Iran in 2017. Data on demographics, triage level, blood pressure, respiratory rate, Glasgow coma scale (GCS), injured body region, injury severity score (ISS), revised trauma score (RTS), and result of accident were compared between pairs of Keywords: Injuries Motorcycle driver Passenger drivers and passengers. The agreement of any type of injury between drivers and passengers evaluated by Kappa test. Results: This study included 143 matched pairs of drivers and passengers. Most of the pairs (84.5%) did not use helmet and 77.2% of the riders do not have driving license. ISS was significantly higher in drivers than passengers. In the unmatched pairs, drivers and passengers showed no difference in sustaining injuries in the face, head & neck, chest and soft tissue, but drivers were found more likely to suffer from injuries in the abdomen, extremities, pelvis and spine than passengers. Once one part of the matched pair suffered injury in the head & neck, face, chest, abdomen, extremities and soft tissue & skin injury, the probability that the other part had an injury in the same region was 50%, 9%, 13%, 7%, 22% and 34% respectively. Kappa value for these body regions was 0.006, 0.009,-0.006, 0.068, 0.063 and 0.001, respectively, which was significant in abdomen and extremities. Conclusion: Although drivers had higher level of injury severity and some different injury distributions, we recommend equal treatment to drivers and passengers. We also recommend related authorities to develop policies on helmet use, driving license and third-party insurance.

Development of Six-sigma Capability Indices in Modern Quality Management Practices

This research work based on the development of 6σ capability indices in the Modern Quality Management Practices in the world level companies is briefly introduced. The process performance index （when a process indicated by control charts is under control） and the percentage of defective products are calculated and compared with kσ. Finally, compared 6σ with 3σ, when process is on nominal （nominal - mean）, the process has 1.5σ shift from nominal.

A polytyramine-copper oxalate nanocomposite modified copper(PTCOxNMC) electrode prepared by electropolymerization was examined for electrocatalytic activity towards the oxidation of methanol in alkaline solution using cyclic voltammetry and impedance spectroscopy. The prepared PTCOxNMC electrode showed a significantly high response for adsorbed methanol oxidation. The effects of various parameters such as potential scan rate and methanol concentration on the electrocatalytic oxidation at the surface of the PTCOxNMC electrode were investigated. Spectrometry techniques such as Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy were used to determine the surface physical characteristics of the modified electrode and revealed that the polytyramine-copper oxalate nanocomposite particles were highly dispersed on the surface of the copper electrode with a narrow size up to 40 nm. The very high current density obtained for the catalytic oxidation may have resulted from the high electrode surface area caused by modification with the poly-tyramine-copper oxalate nanocomposite.

＜正＞This work is based on the performance comparison of Range （R）, CuSum and EWMA control charts for monitoring the process variability. When monitoring the process it is important to quickly detect increase and decrease in variability. If the variance of the process increases, it is possible that an increased number of units will be defective. Therefore, in this paper we consider only increase in the process variability. These three types of control charts are used to detect the changes in process parameters. Therefore, the object of this research work is to find out which of these three charts provides better performance （more efficient） in order to detect the changes in the increase of process standard deviation for Six-Sigma quality control. The Range （R）, CuSum and EWMA control charts were used to determine the average run length （ARL） to detect out of control condition. The ARL found by these three charts and was compared to each other. It was observed that the performance of the CuSum and EWMA control charts for monitoring the process variability were appreciably better than the performance of R-chart when small shifts of interest. The CuSum and EWMA control charts are more efficient to detect the small shifts in the process dispersion at the order of shift level below than 1.5. While, if the larger shifts are considered （shifts in the process dispersion more than1 .5）, the R-chart was the most effective.
