Background:The growing public health concern caused by non-communicable diseases in urban surroundings cannot be solved by health care alone;therefore a multidisciplinary approach is *** study aimed to evaluate the airborne aerosol pollution level in primary schools as possible factor influencing origin and course of the diseases in ***:Seasonal aerosol particle number concentration(PNC)and mass concentration(PMC)were studied in the randomly selected eleven primary schools in the Lithuanian capital,Vilnius,as model of a middle-size Eastern European *** PNC in the size range from 0.01 to>1.0μm in diameter was measured using a condensation particle *** an optical particle sizer,PNC was measured and PMC estimated for particles from 0.3 to 10.0μm.A descriptive statistics was used to estimate the aerosol pollution ***:During all seasons,local cafeterias in the absence of ventilation were the main sources of the elevated levels of indoor PMC and PNC(up to 97,500 particles/cm3).The other sources of airborne particulates were the children’s activity during the lesson breaks with PMC up to 586μg/*** furniture,carpets in the classrooms and corridors were responsible for PMC up to 200μg/*** aerosol pollution(up to 18,170 particles/cm3)was higher for schools in city *** air pollution in classrooms also resulted from intermittent sources,such as construction work during classes(200-1000μg/m3)and petrol-powered lawn trimmers(up to 66,400 particles/cm3).Conclusion:The results of our survey show that even in a relatively low polluted region of Eastern Europe there are big differences in aerosol pollution within middle-sized *** efforts are needed to improve air quality in schools:more frequent wet cleaning,monitoring the operation of ventilation systems,a ban on construction works during school year,on a use of sandblasting mechanisms in the neighborhood of schools.

Integrity control of an RBMK-1500 fuel rod locally oxidized under a bounding reactivity-initiated accident

In 2007, the license for the second reactor unit of the Ignalina nuclear power plant was renewed considering the safety-related modifications introduced in this *** Safety Analysis Report for this reactor unit was prepared with more strict criteria. The bounding reactivityinitiated accident(RIA) performed by the Lithuanian Energy Institute could be mentioned as an example. The performed analysis demonstrated that even when the worst initial conditions and possible uncertainties are considered,the fuel cladding remains intact. However, the analysis was performed assuming a fresh fuel assembly. In this study, an analysis of the fuel rod cladding behavior in the RBMK-1500 reactor following a bounding RIA is performed using the computational codes FEMAXI-6 and RELAP5. The analysis is extended by modeling an oxide layer(nodular corrosion) on the external surface cladding. An uncertainty and sensitivity analysis was performed using a method developed by the Society for Plant and Reactor Safety,employing the Software for Uncertainty and Sensitivity Analyses, in order to evaluate the effect of the oxide layer on the inside and outside fuel rod temperatures. The results of the thermo-mechanical analysis(stress, strain, and enthalpy) for a local oxide layer with a thickness of 70μm show that despite the exceeded limit of allowed linear power density, the fuel rod is under acceptable safety conditions.

Juvenile X-linked retinoschisis（XLRS, MIM#312700） belongs to a group of the vitreoretinal dystrophies. We aimed to describe the phenotype-genotype correlation of three XLRS cases in juveniles with different novel mutations from the Lithuanian population. The patients demonstrated macular retinoschisis and typical cyst-like cavities on spectral-domain optical coherence tomography（SD-OCT） images. The mean central foveal thickness was 569.7 μm. Two patients presented with peripheral retinoschisis. Flash electroretinogram demonstrated a reduced b/a ratio（〈1.0） in all patients. RS1（NM_000330.3） gene coding exons Sanger sequencing was performed. RS1 c.599 G〉T（p.R200 L） mutation was detected in one case, showing to be pathogenic in silico analysis. c.（92_97） ins C（p.W33 fs） mutation was identified for another patient, indicating the variant is possibly damaging in silico analysis. The third case was identified with a pathogenic mutation c.422 C〉G（p.R141 H）, HGMD CM981753. These are the first cases of XLRS in the Lithuanian population confirmed by molecular genotyping. Presented patients had a different genotype but similar phenotypic traits.

Biefeld-Brown Effect and Space Curvature of Electromagnetic Field

With applying of new proposed electromagnetic gravity Lagrangian together with Einstein-Hilbert equation not zero space curvature was derived. The curvature gives “a priory” postulate of equivalence of mass and electro-magnetic field gravity properties. The non-zero trace of energy-stress tensor of electrical field changes space curvature of gravity mass, which yields to prediction of dependence of capacitor gravity mass from capacitor capacitance and voltage values, observed in Biefeld-Brown effect. The other, not observed prediction could be applied to coil gravity mass dependence from coil inductance and current values. New physical constant, electromagnetic field gravity constant αg, was introduced to conform with theoretical and experimental data.

Problems with Translational Invariance of Three-Particle Systems

A new method for calculation of non-relativistic energy spectrum of Coulomb three-body systems with two identical particles has been developed. The novelty of the method is the introduction of an expansion of the wave function on harmonic oscillator (HO) functions with different sizes in the Jacobi coordinates instead of only one unique size parameter in the traditional approach. The method presented obeys the principles of antisymmetry and translational invariance. The theoretical formulation has been illustrated by evaluation of ground state energies of a number of Coulomb three-body systems with two identical particles for zero HO excitation energy. The analytical solution of this problem in case of only one size parameter has been derived. The obtained results show significant advantage of the base with different sizes over the traditional approach for investigation of the bound state problem of quantum systems.

New Possibilities of Harmonic Oscillator Basis Application for Quantum System *** Particles with Coulomb Interaction

This paper is addressed to the problem of Galilei invariant basis construction for identical fermions systems. The recently introduced method for spurious state elimination from expansions in harmonic oscillator basis [1] 08D0C9EA79F9BACE118C8200AA004BA90B02000000080000000E0000005F005200650066003400310034003400340037003600360038000000 is adopted and applied to bound states of two particles system with Coulomb potential description. Traditional expansions in this case demonstrate the extremely well-known slow convergence, and hence this is the best problem with known exact solutions for the test of the method. Obtained results demonstrate the significant simplification of the problem and fast convergence of expansions. We show that the application of this general method is very efficient in a test case of the energy spectrum calculation problem of two particles with different masses interacting with Coulomb potential.

The Influence of Microscopic Fungi on Chromated Galvanized Zinc Coatings

A solution containing Cr(VI), Cr(NO3)3 and its complex with an organic acid as well as several commercial solutions containing Cr(III) complexes with an organic acid and additionally CO2+, F-, SO42- ions were used for the studies. Results of the studies obtained in the following commercial solutions: Likonda 2AT, Cr(NO3)3 + malonic acid;Likonda 3Cr5 and Likonda 3CrMC are discussed. Steel coated with chromated Zn coatings was contaminated by some microscopic fungi. The variety of fungi on chromated plates diminished, however the propagules of fungi did not disappear completely. The Likonda 3Cr5 solution diminishes fungi contamination on chromated steel most effectively. In water used to rinse the surface of chromated plates the number of fungi propagules was detected to be higher as compared to that on the plate surface. The least quantity of fungi propagules was detected in water used to rinse plates coated in the Likonda 3Cr5 solution. The main part of fungi detected on chromated plates treated in the Likonda 3Cr5 solution were the fungi of Cladosporium species (***, ***). The latter species also dominated on chromated plates coated with zinc and treated with the other solution. It should be mentioned, that on these plates chromated in this solution, Actinomycetes of the Streptomyces group were abundant. After comparison of surfaces of the plates treated in four solutions it has been determined that the surface of the plates treated in the Likonda 3Cr5 passivation solution and exposed to modelling conditions changed least of all. It has been noticed that on the subject studied white porous rust accumulates, the intensity of this process on the surface studied determines both the probability of corrosion and the resistance of the used safety means to the external factors.
