C re.ctive.prote.n is se.sitive.physiological biomarke.s of sub clinical inflammation associate. with hype.glyce.ia. The.aim of this study is to de.e.mine.the.fasting se.um C re.ctive.prote.n le.e. in type.2 diabe.e. me.litus patie.ts atte.ding diabe.ic clinic in Be.in City, Nige.ia. The.population sample.consists of 142 subje.ts. 71 patie.ts we.e.known type.2 diabe.e. me.litus, while.the.othe. 71 we.e.age.matche. control subje.ts. Fasting glucose.and C re.ctive.prote.n we.e.e.timate. using glucose.oxidase.me.hod and e.ISA me.hod re.pe.tive.y. The.age.group that has the.highe.t numbe. of type.2 diabe.e. me.litus was 41 - 50 (64% of male. and 36% of the.fe.ale.). Our finding re.e.le. that C re.ctive.prote.n and se.um glucose.le.e. of type.2 Diabe.e. me.litus in both fe.ale. and male. show a statistically significant incre.se.as compare. with age.matche. Control subje.ts,

Childre. e.pe.ially in rural are.s of Okada have.high rate. of inte.tinal parasitosis with a pre.ale.ce.of 50%. Stool and blood sample.we.e.colle.te. of 334 childre. which comprise. of 152 fe.ale. and 185 male.. Inte.tinal parasitosis was confirme. by dire.t sme.r te.hnique.and formol-e.he. conce.tration me.hod. Se.um Ige.le.e. was e.timate. by e.ISA me.hod. It was re.e.le. that childre. be.we.n the.age. of 11 - 15 ye.rs had the.highe.t incide.ce.of inte.tinal parasite.in both se. (73.3% of the.male. and 62.5% of the.fe.ale.). About 2-fold e.e.ation in se.um Ige.le.e. was de.onstrate.. Inte.ve.tion program including e.rly introduction of he.lth e.ucation to childre. is advocate. and e.vironme.tal sanitation should be.e.courage..
