Al-xV alloys(x=2 at.%,5 at.%,10 at.%)with nanocrystalline structure and high solid solubility of V were produced in powder form by high-energy ball milling(HEBM).the alloy powders were consolidated by spark plasma sintering(SPS)employing a wide range of temperatures ranging from 200 to 400°*** microstructure and solid solubility of V in Al were investigated using X-ray diffraction analysis,scanning electron microscope and transmission electron *** microstructure was influenced by the SPS temperature and V content of the *** alloys exhibited high solid solubility of V–six orders of magnitude higher than that in equilibrium state and grain sizet all the SPS *** formation of Al3V intermetallic was detected at 400℃.Formation of a V-lean phase and bimodal grain size was observed during SPS,which increased with the increase in SPS *** hardness and elastic modulus,measured using nanoindentation,were significantly higher than commercial *** example,Al-V alloy produced by SPS at 200℃ exhibited a hardness of 5.21 GPa along with elastic modulus of 96.21 *** evolution of the microstructure and hardness with SPS temperatures has been discussed.

RESULtS： Albumin （g/dL）： GA vs GC, 3.70 （r2.20-4.90） vs 3.85 （r3.40-4.90）, P = 0.02. Diuresis （mL/d）： GA 690 （r0-1780）; GB 660 （r60-1800）; GC 840 （r40-2840）. Diuresis GA vs GC, P = 0.01. Leptin （ng/mL）： GA vs GC, 3.81 （r0.78-69.60） vs GC, 32.80 （r0.78-124.50）, P 〈 0.001. Insulin （μU/mL）： GA vs GB, 7 （r2-44） vs 11.50 （r4-38）, P = 0.02; GA vs GC, 7 （r2-44） vs 19.5 （r5-155）, P = 0.0001. troponin t and Pro-BNP levels were not different. the restriction of antibiotic growth promoters in livestock nutrition has led to a growing interest in plant feed additives. this study was designed to assess the production performance of broiler chickens fed on graded levels of Pentadiplandra brazzeana powder in drinking water. A total of 448 day-old Cobb 500 broiler chicks were randomly assigned to seven treatment groups with 4 replicates of 16 birds each (08 males and 08 females). Pentadiplandra brazzeana root was grounded and incorporated at 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 g/L of drinking water. Control rations consisted of diet without any supplement (t0) and antibiotic (1 g/kg) medicated diet (t0+). throughout the experimental period (49 days) feed intake was not significantly (p > 0.05) affected by graded levels of Pentadiplandra brazzeana except for 5 g/L of water that significantly (p take. Weight gain was significantly higher (p th 1, 2 and 3 g/L, while feed conversion ratio was significantly lower (p th the same treatments compared to the control group (t0). Chickens fed on 1 g Pentadiplandra brazzeana/L recorded a higher (p to the control ration (t0). Haematological parameters were not significantly (p > 0.05) affected irrespective of the level of incorporation of the test spice in drinking water. Serum content in urea was significantly lower (p th 3 g Pentadiplandra brazzeana/L compared to all other treatments. In 2019, the coronavirus pandemic broke out as a serious public health issue worldwide. In Côte d’Ivoire, the number of cases of COVID-19 has increased rapidly. the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome virus (SARS-CoV-2) binds to angiotensin converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) receptors in the respiratory tracts and enters the respiratory and alveolar cells of infected patients. Deficiency of fat-soluble vitamin D3 is associated with respiratory distress syndrome and pulmonary fibrosis by activation of the renin-angiotensin system. In Côte d’Ivoire, very little research is being done on SARS-CoV-2 and vitamin D. the objective of this study was to assess the vitamin D status of people infected and suffering from COVID-19 in order to contribute to their medical treatment. the study involved 100 adults infected with SARS-CoV-2 (24 women and 76 men). After confirmation of the patient’s SARS-CoV-2 status by Rt-PCR, the 25 (OH) vitamin D assay was performed on the Cobas 6000 device and compared to control subjects, the non-COVID-19 positive. A significant decrease in 25-hydroxy vitamin D3 concentrations (44 ± 1.29 nmole/L) was observed in patients infected with SARS-CoV-2, compared to control (78 ± 0.68 nmole/L) (p the 25-hydroxy vitamin D3 deficiency requires vitamin D supplementation in the management of hospitalized patients infected with SARS-CoV-2.

Purpose: Improvements to photoselective vaporization of the prostate (PVP) have been made over time, particularly with the introduction of higher power systems. Few studies however have compared the performance of these systems to their predecessors. the purpose of this study was to compare the clinical and perioperative outcomes of 80 W vs. 120 W PVP. Materials and Methods: A series of 267 and 209 consecutive patients underwent 80 W and 120 W PVP, respectively, from September 2001 to May 2009 at Weill Cornell Medical College (GreenLighttM laser system, American Medical Systems, Inc., Minnetonka, MN). Data were collected on patient demographics, International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS), prostate-specific antigen (PSA), and perioperative parameters. Maximum flow rate (Qmax), postvoid residual (PVR), and transrectal ultrasound prostate volume were recorded. Statistical analyses were carried out utilizing the Shapiro-Wilk, Mann-Whitney, Wilcoxon and unpaired t tests (SPSS 15.0, SPSS Inc., Chicago, IL, USA). Results: Baseline parameters were similar between the two groups except for greater median age (72.8 vs. 69.2 years, p = 0.01) and lower median PSA (2.0 vs. 3.3, p = 0.01) in the 80 W group. Median laser time was longer in the 80W group (85 vs. 51 minutes, p 0.001) with a higher median energy utilized (253 vs. 210 kJ, p = 0.001). Final IPSS, Qmax, PVR, and PSA were equivalent between the two groups. Conclusions: In our series, PVP was safe and effective. Durable and similar improvements in symptoms and objective parameters were achieved in patients with both 80 W and 120 W laser systems. PVP with the 120 W system, however, provided faster and more efficient vaporization compared to the 80 W system.

the influence of spark plasma sintering(SPS)temperature on microstructure,hardness and corrosion behavior of a high-energy ball milled Mg-10wt%Al alloy was investigated in this *** holding time and sintering pressure for SPS were kept constant while varying the sintering temperature from 200 to 350℃.the grain size and microstructure were studied using X-ray diffraction analysis,scanning electron microscopy,energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy,and Archimedes'based density *** behavior was investigated using potentiodynamic polarization *** nanocrystalline regime(grain sizetained even after SPS up to 350℃.the density of the alloy increased with increasing the SPS ***'hardness and corrosion performance improved up to 300℃ followed by a decrease after SPS at 350℃.Possible reasons for densification,strengthening,and corrosion behavior have been discussed in the light of reduced porosity and microstructural changes.

AIM to investigate infused hematopoietic cell doses and their interaction with conditioning regimen intensity +/-total body irradiation(tBI) on outcomes after peripheral blood hematopoietic cell transplant(PBHCt).MEtHODS Our retrospective cohort included 247 patients receiving a first, t-replete, human leukocyte antigen-matched allogeneic PBHCt and treated between 2001 and2012. Correlations were calculated using the Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient. Overall survival and progression free survival curves were generated using the Kaplan-Meier method and compared using the log-rank *** Neutrophil engraftment was significantly faster after reduced intensity tBI based conditioning [reduced intensity conditioning(RIC) + tBI] and > 4 × 10~6 CD34+cells/kg infused. A higher total nucleated cell dose led to a higher incidence of grade II-IV acute graft-versus-host disease in the myeloablative + tBI regimen group(P = 0.03), but no significant difference in grade III-IV graft-versus-host disease. A higher total nucleated cell dose was also associated with increased incidence of moderate/severe chronic graft-versus-host disease, regardless ofconditioning regimen. Overall and progression-free survival were significantly better in patients with a RIC + tBI regimen and total nucleated cell dose > 8 ×10~8/kg(3 years, overall survival: 70% vs 38%, P = 0.02, 3 years, progression free survival: 64% vs 38%, P = 0.02).CONCLUSION tBI and conditioning intensity may alter the relationship between infused cell doses and outcomes after PBHCt. Immune cell subsets may predict improved survival after unmanipulated PBHCt.

Antimicrobial use in livestock is faced with various challenges including emergence of antimicrobial resistance and presence of drug residues in meat products,hence the need for *** aim of this work was to assess the effect a plant(Zehneria scabra)extract on Salmonella infected quails,as an alternative to antibiotic *** were randomly assigned into six groups each containing twelve *** neutral control(t0)group was not infected and received tap water whereas other groups were *** negative control(t-)received tap *** positive control(t+)received a single dose of oxytetracycline(20 mg/kg).t1,t2 andt3 orally received the plant extract at the following respective doses:9,18 and 37 mg/*** were infected by oral administration of a single dose of Salmonella Enteritidis(10^(5)CFU).Haematological and biochemical parameters were *** day 2 to day 9 to day 16,the bacterial load of all treatment groups(t+,t1,t2,t3)*** infection resulted in a significant(ptransferase,triglycerides,total cholesterol and white blood cells,and a significant decrease in the liver and kidney protein *** treatment resulted in the correction of the aforementioned *** plant extract(18 mg/kg)is as effective as oxytetracycline,and can be safely used in phytomedicine for the treatment of Salmonella Enteritidis infection without kidney and liver damage.
