This paper develops a wheel profile fine-tuning system(WPFTS)that comprehensively considers the influence of wheel profile on wheel damage,vehicle stability,vehicle safety,and passenger *** can recommend one or more optimized wheel profiles according to train operators’needs,e.g.,reducing wheel wear,mitigating the development of wheel out-of-roundness(OOR),improving the shape stability of the wheel ***,WPFTS includes four modules:(I)a wheel profile generation module based on the rotary-scaling finetuning(RSFT)method;(II)a multi-objective generation module consisting of a rigid multi-body dynamics simulation(MBS)model,an analytical model,and a rigid–flexible MBS model,for generating 11 objectives related to wheel damage,vehicle stability,vehicle safety,and passenger comfort;(III)a weight assignment module consisting of an adaptive weight assignment strategy and a manual weight assignment strategy;and(IV)an optimization module based on radial basis function(RBF)and particle swarm optimization(PSO).Finally,three cases are introduced to show how WPTFS recommends a wheel profile according to train operators’*** them,a wheel profile with high shape stability,a wheel profile for mitigating the development of wheel OOR,and a wheel profile considering hunting stability and derailment safety are developed,respectively.

The objective of this work research is to investigate the potential of using metallic powder mixed with electrical discharge machining (EDM) dielectric when machining hard electrically conductive materials. Nowadays, the development of industries requires hard materials for various applications. Machining the hard materials using the traditional processes lead to tool break and poor machined product. Even when the conventional EDM can machine hard material as long as it is electrically conductive materials, the machined parts still present drawbacks. Metallic powder mixed with EDM dielectric (PMEDM) was hypothesized to improve the machined part. The presence of metallic powder ensures uniform distribution of spark and the electrical density of the spark decreases which reduces craters, cracks and voids on machined surface. The transfer and deposit of alloying elements during powder mixed electrical discharge machining improve the machined surface properties particularly micro-hardness and fatigue. Discharge current (IP), gap voltage (GapV), ON-time (ON) and aluminum powder are selected as machined variable parameters and the output responses are fatigue performance, micro-hardness and surface topography. The workpiece material selected is molybdenum high speed steel. Micro-hardness was determined using micro-hardness tester device. The fatigue performance was determined using empirical equation. Analysis of material transfer was done using energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) attached to FESEM. EDS analysis involves the generation of an X-ray spectrum from the entire scan area of the SEM. Iron deficiency without anemia and iron deficiency anemia are common and frequently overlooked complications of inflammatory bowel disease. Despite the frequency and impact of iron deficiency in inflammatory bowel disease, there are gaps in our understanding about its incidence, prevalence and natural history and, consequently, patients may be undertreated. Medical registries have a key role in collecting data on the disease's natural history, the safety and effectiveness of drugs in routine clinical practice, and the quality of care delivered by healthcare services. Even though iron deficiency impacts inflammatory bowel disease patients and healthcare systems substantially, none of the established European inflammatory bowel disease registries systematically collects information on iron parameters and related outcomes. Collection of robust iron parameter data from patient registries is one way to heighten awareness about the importance of iron deficiency in this disease and to generate data to improve the quality of patient care, patient outcomes, and thus quality of life. This objective could be achieved through collection of specific laboratory, clinical, and patientreported measurements that could be incorporated into existing registries. This review describes the status of current European inflammatory bowel disease registries and the data they generate, in order to highlight their potential role in collecting iron data, to discuss how such information gathering could contribute to our understanding of iron deficiency anemia, and to provide practical information in regard to the incorporation of accumulated iron parameter data into registries.

Antioxidant, antibacterial and phytochemical properties of two medicinal plants against the wound infecting bacteria

Objective: To investigate the antioxidant, antibacterial and phytochemical properties of ethanol extracts of Brachylaena elliptica and Brachylaena ilicifolia against wound infecting bacteria normally found in diabetic ***: The in vitro antioxidant activity of the two plants extracts were investigated spectrophotometrically using 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl, nitric oxide, azino-bis(3-ethylbenzthiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) diammonium salt, hydrogen peroxide(H_2O_2) and ferric reducing power. The antibacterial assay and minimum inhibitory concentration(MIC) was determined using the agar dilution method against five bacteria strains using amoxycillin and ciprofloxacin as positive control. The phytochemical analyses(tannins,total phenol, flavonoids, flavonols, proanthocyanidin, alkaloids and saponins) were assessed using standard ***: The ethanol extract of both plants exhibited strong antioxidant activities in some cases when compared to the standards(vitamin C and BHT). The antibacterial activity of both plants showed an appreciable broad spectrum activity against these wound pathogens with MIC value ranges between 0.3 mg/m L and 5 mg/m L. Tannins,phenols, flavanols, proanthocyanidins and alkaloids content of B. ilicifolia were significantly higher than those in B. elliptica. However, there were no significant differences in the flavanoid content of both plants ***: These results indicated that the ethanol leaf extracts of these plants have antioxidant and antibacterial activity against the tested bacteria possibly due to the presence of bioactive compounds and therefore could be used as alternative therapy against wound infection caused by these bacteria in diabetic patients.

Feature sensitive simplification and re-sampling of point set surfaces is an important and challenging issue for many computer graphics and geometric modeling *** on the regular sampling of the Gaussian sphere and the surface normals mapping onto the Gaussian sphere,an adaptive re-sampling framework for point set surfaces is presented in this paper,which includes a naive sampling step by index propagation and a novel cluster optimization step by normalized *** proposed re-sampling scheme can generate non-uniformly distributed discrete sample points for the underlying point sets in a feature sensitive *** intrinsic geometric features of the underlying point set surfaces can be preserved efficiently due to our adaptive re-sampling scheme.A novel splat rendering technique is adopted to illustrate the efficiency of our re-sampling ***,a numerical error statistics and surface reconstruction for simplified models are also given to demonstrate the effectiveness of our algorithm in term of the simplified quality of the point set surfaces.

3D super-resolution microscopy with nanometric resolution is a key to fully complement ultrastructural techniques with fluorescence ***,we achieve 3D super-resolution by combining the 2D localization of pMINFLUX with the axial information of graphene energy transfer(GET)and the single-molecule switching by *** demonstrate≤2 nm localization precision in all 3 dimension with axial precision reaching below 0.3 *** 3D DNA-PAINT measurements,structural features,i.e.,individual docking strands at distances of 3 nm,are directly resolved on DNA origami *** and GET represent a particular synergetic combination for super-resolution imaging near the surface such as for cell adhesion and membrane complexes as the information of each photon is used for both 2D and axial localization ***,we introduce local PAINT(L-PAINT),in which DNA-PAINT imager strands are equipped with an additional binding sequence for local upconcentration improving signal-to-background ratio and imaging speed of local clusters.L-PAINT is demonstrated by imaging a triangular structure with 6 nm side lengths within seconds.

Conservation agriculture practices are a crucial factor in mitigating and controlling erosion by *** address water erosion estimates,most environmental models use the USLE,RUSLE,and MUSLE *** practices that affect soil erosion by modifying the flow pattern,such as contour farming,strip farming,or terracing,are represented within these models as a support practice(P)***,due to the difficulty in accurately mapping the P-factor,many studies choose to ignore it,using only the default value P-factor 1 which represents the absence of sowing at the level or cultivation in *** study proposes a methodology that evaluates the current P-factor based on the angle between the crop row orientation and the elevation contour *** method was tested in four areas under soybean crop fields in southern Brazil,totaling 25 km^(2).The reason for choosing four areas is to select different characteristics of rural properties and topographic *** ideal values of the P-factor are expected to be between 0.5 and 0.6;however,in our case,a P-factor greater than 0.8 was obtained in 60%of the area,indicating the low occurrence of contour farming reduces erosion *** results show that policymakers could potentially use this methodology(angle between the crop rows and contour lines)to run soil-erosion risk scenarios for a broader application of contour *** allows the P-factor to be quantified via a thematic map instead of assigning uniform P-factor *** a detailed study of the P-factor on the slopes,there is a better understanding of where to target support practices to reduce erosion.
