A possible mechanism of stimulation of seismic activity by ionizing radiation of solar flares

A possible mechanism of earthquake triggering by ionizing radiation of solar flares is considered.A theoretical model and results of numerical calculations of disturbance of electric field,electric current,and heat release in lithosphere associated with variation of ionosphere conductivity caused by absorption of ionizing radiation of solar flares are presented.A generation of geomagnetic field disturbances in a range of seconds/tens of seconds is possible as a result of large-scale perturbation of a conductivity of the bottom part of ionosphere in horizontal direction in the presence of external electric ***-time characteristics of the geomagnetic disturbance depend upon a perturbation of integral conductivity of *** on relation between integral Hall and Pedersen conductivities of disturbed ionosphere the oscillating and aperiodic modes of magnetic disturbances may be *** strong perturbations of the ionosphere conductivities amplitude of pulsations may obtain^102 *** this case the amplitude of horizontal component of electric field on the Earth surface obtains 0.01 mV/m,electric current density in lithosphere-10-6 A/m2,and the power density of heat release produced by the generated current is 10-7 W/*** is shown that the absorption of ionizing radiation of solar flares can result in variations of a density of telluric currents in seismogenic faults comparable with a current density generated in the Earth crust by artificial pulsed power systems(geophysical MHD generator"Pamir・2"and electric pulsed facility"ERGU・600"),which provide regional earthquake triggering and spatiotemporal variation of seismic ***,triggering of seismic events is possible not only by man-made pulsed power sources but also by the solar *** obtained results may be a physical basis for a novel approach to solve the problem of short・term earthquake prediction based on electromagnetic triggering phenomena.

On Splitting of the Normalizer of a Maximal Torus in E6(q)

Let G be a finite group of Lie type E6 over Fq (adjoint or simply connected) and W be the Weyl group of G. We describe maximal tori T such that T has a complement in its algebraic normalizer N(G, T). It is well known that for each maximal torus T of G there exists an element w ∈ W such that N(G, T )/T ■ CW(w). When T does not have a complement isomorphic to CW(w), we show that w has a lift in N(G, T) of the same order.

Shock-wave impact on the knee joint affected with osteoarthritis and after arthroplasty

Degenerative diseases significantly reduce the quality of human ***-invasive treatments are used in the initial stages of osteoarthritis(OA).Total knee arthroplasty is used in the late stages of osteoarthritis of the knee ***-invasive methods based on mechanical action are also used for the rehabilitation of a patient after *** paper presents numerical models of the knee joint with degenerative OA changes and *** these models,a computational study was made of the influence of the intensity of shock-wave exposure on the conditioning for the regeneration of bone and cartilage *** on the modeling results,it was found that in the knee joint with degenerative OA changes,conditions for the regeneration of cartilage and meniscus tissues were fulfilled under medium and highintensity *** high-intensity loading(up to 0.9 m J/mm^(2)),the stress level was significantly below the ultimate value required for *** knee arthroplasty,the conditions for bone tissue regeneration around the tibia component are fulfilled only under high-intensity loading.

We have completed our observational program to search for wide binary systems with non-coeval components in the southern sky and report our results *** final set of four systems was spectroscopically investigated in this *** binary systems with components of different ages were found among *** into account our previous studies,we estimate the fraction of such binaries(i.e.,binaries formed,presumably,by capture)to be not higher than 0.06%.The study will be continued on the northern sky.

There are many practical decision problems where decision makers＇ preferences may be inconsistent and contradictory. In this paper, new methods for ordering and classifying multi-attribute objects by discordant collective preferences are suggested. These methods are based on the theory of multiset metric spaces. The proposed techniques are applied to ranking companies and a competitive selection of projects, which are estimated by several experts upon multiple qualitative criteria.

Method for passivation of propellant residues in orbital stage tank of launch vehicle

The problem of removing unused liquid propellant residues from the tanks of spent spacecraft and orbital stages of Launch Vehicles(LV)leads to their explosion and the formation of space debris in *** provide a solution to this problem,a method for removing liquid propellant residues from the LV tanks after the mission completion is *** method is based on the gasification of liquid propellant residues in the tanks under acoustic-vacuum exposure and the discharge of the gasification products into the surrounding outer *** investigations were carried out on a Ground-based Experimental Installation(GEI)to determine the coefficient of heat transfer from the surface of an acoustic radiator to a *** obtained coefficient was then used to calculate the energy costs for the gasification of *** estimates are given on the example of the tank with kerosene residues from a spent second stage of the LV“Soyuz-2.1 v”.The optimal discharge rate at which kerosene does not freeze is 0.14 m^(3)/***,the acoustic exposure leads to an increase in the mass of evaporated kerosene over a given time by96.1%,and the energy costs are 1756.7 kJ(approximately 50% of the remaining electrical energy).
