Urban forests play an important role in the thermal comfort and overall life of local populations in large-and medium-sized *** study analyzes urban forest loss and maps land use and land cover(LULC)changes between 1991 and 2018 by evaluating the use of urban planning instruments for the mitigation of urban forest loss in Jo?o Pessoa,*** this purpose,satellite-derived LULC images from 1991,2006,2010 and 2018 and data on urban forest loss areas obtained using the Google Earth Engine were *** addition,this paper also discusses the instruments used for integrated urban planning,which are(a)the legal sector,responsibility and nature;(b)the urban expansion process;and(c)the elements of urban *** results show a clear shift in land use in the study *** major changes in LULC classes occurred in urban areas and herbaceous vegetation,while the greatest loss was in arboreal/shrub ***,an increase in the pressure to occupy zones intended for environmental preservation could be *** results showed similar accuracies with other studies and more spatial *** characteristics of the patterns,traces,and hotspots of urban expansion and forest cover loss were *** highlighted the potential use of this proposed framework to be applied and validated in other parts of the world to help better understand and quantify various aspects of urban-related problems such as urban forest loss mapping using instruments for integrated urban planning and low-cost approaches.

The autonomous vehicle(AV)technology has the potential to significantly improve safety and efficiency of the transportation and logistics ***-scale AV testing is limited by time,space,and cost,while simulation-based testing often lacks the necessary accuracy of AV and environmental *** recent years,several initiatives have emerged to test autonomous software and hardware on scaled *** systematic literature review provides an overview of the literature surrounding small-scale self-driving cars,summarizing the current autonomous platforms deployed and focusing on the software and hardware developments in this *** studies published in English-language journals or conference papers that present small-scale testing of self-driving cars were *** of Science,Scopus,Springer Link,Wiley,ACM Digital Library,and TRID databases were used for the literature *** systematic literature search found 38 eligible *** gaps in the reviewed papers were identified to provide guidance for future *** key takeaway emerging from this manuscript are:(i)there is a need to improve the models and neural network architectures used in autonomous driving systems,as most papers present only preliminary results;(ii)increasing datasets and sharing databases can help in developing more reliable control policies and reducing bias and variance in the training process;(iii)small-scaled vehicles to ensure safety is a major benefit,and incorporating data about unsafe driving behaviors and infrastructure problems can improve the accuracy of predictive models.

Poly(3-hydroxybutyrate)(PHB)is a biothechnological and biodegradable thermoplastic polymer from the polyhydroxyalkanoates(PHAs)family,whose chain regularity,high molecular weight,and physical and mechanical properties comparable to polypropylene(PP)are characteristics that have made PHB a prominent commercial ***,its susceptibility to thermal degradation and hydrolysis has limited many *** address the challenges associated with processing,a random copolymer of 95.86 mol%3-hydroxybutyrate and 4.14 mol%3-hydroxyvalerate(referred as PHB)was compounded without(neat PHB)and with 0.25,0.5,1,and 1.5 wt%of chain extender(Joncryl■ADR 4368),consisting of multifunctional epoxy groups,and melt mixed in an internal mixer at 170℃,50 rpm,and residence times of 5,10,and 15 *** effect of chain extender concentration and residence time on the effectiveness of Joncryl■ADR 4368 to recover the pristine PHB properties were investigated through torque rheometry,melt flow index(MFI),differential scanning calorimetry(DSC),tensile testing,and thermogravimetric *** results indicated that an increase in residence time strongly influenced the prevalence of thermomechanical degradation reactions over chain extension reactions of PHB during processing in the molten *** residence times favored chain extension,while longer times favored chain *** trend led to no enhancement of PHB mechanical properties processed for 10 and 15 min,regardless of additive content *** flow index,thermogravimetric analysis and tensile strength exhibited an asymptotic behavior with the increase in additive concentration,exhibiting a noteworthy improvement in tensile strength and temperature at the highest rate of thermal degradation(TMAX),and a decrease in melt flow index of neat PHB with only 0.25 wt%of additive mixed for 5 *** results found in this work allow additional data for processing PHB by manipulating the ratios of multifunctional chain

Previously,it was suggested that biological maturation(BM)could be linked to cardiac autonomic recovery(CAR)in the pediatric ***,this influence hasn’t been confirmed *** aim was to investigate the impact of BM on CAR in female volleyball *** study with a sample of 38 volleyball players,comprising 20 girls(age:[11.62.1]years)and 18 women(age:[24.55.5]years),we analyzed BM,comparing maturing subjects(girls)with mature subjects(women).Additionally,we assessed peak height velocity(PHV)in *** conducted a training session involving repeated sprints(3 rounds of 6 sprints interspersed by 5 min[min]of passive rest).Using short-range radio telemetry,we analyzed CAR during(at the end of the 1st and 2nd rounds)and after(following the 3rd round)the training session of repeated sprints by applying the 60-s to 300-s heart rate recovery index(HRR-Index).Girls exhibited superior CAR compared to women(round 2:60-s,120-s,240-s,and 300-s,p0.4,p0.4,p<0.05).We have concluded that biological maturation has a significant impact on cardiac autonomic recovery.

Background： The aim of this study was to estimate variance components and to identify genomic regions and pathways associated with resistance to gastrointestinal parasites, particularly Haemonchus contortus, in a breed of sheep adapted to tropical climate. Phenotypes evaluations were performed to verify resistance to gastrointestinal parasites, and were divided into two categories： i） farm phenotypes, assessing body condition score（BCS）, degree of anemia assessed by the famacha chart（FAM）, fur score（FS） and feces consistency（FC）; and ii） lab phenotypes,comprising blood analyses for hematocrit（HCT）, white blood cell count（WBC）, red blood cell count（RBC）,hemoglobin（HGB）, platelets（PLT） and transformed（log10） egg per gram of feces（EPG_（log））. A total of 576 animals were genotyped with the Ovine SNP12k Bead Chip（Illumina, Inc.）, that contains 12,785 bialleleic SNP markers. The variance components were estimated using a single trait model by single step genomic BLUP ***： The overall linkage disequilibrium（LD） mean between pairs of markers measured by r2 was 0.23. The overall LD mean between markers considering windows up to 10 Mb was 0.07. The mean LD between adjacent SNPs across autosomes ranged from 0.02 to 0.10. Heritability estimates were low for EPG_（log）（0.11）, moderate for RBC（0.18）, PLT（0.17） HCT（0.20）, HGB（0.16） and WBC（0.22）, and high for FAM（0.35）. A total of 22, 21, 23, 20, 26, 25 and 23 windows for EPG_（log）for FAM, WBC, RBC, PLT, HCT and HGB traits were identified, respectively. Among the associated windows, 10 were shown to be common to HCT and HGB traits on OAR1, OAR2, OAR3, OAR5, OAR8 and ***： The traits indicating gastrointestinal parasites resistance presented an adequate genetic variability to respond to selection in Santa Inês breed, and it is expected a higher genetic gain for FAM trait when compared to the others. AIM To determine the prevalence of epstein-barr virus(eb V)-associated gastric carcinomas in the North Region of Portugal and to study its clinicopathological characteristics. METHODS We have performed a retrospective study including a total of 179 consecutive patients with gastric cancer(GC) submitted to gastrectomy during 2011 at the Portuguese Oncology Institute of Porto. Clinical and pathological data was collected from individual clinical records and inserted on a database with unique codification. Tumour tissues were collected from the institutional tumour bank. eb V was detected by in situ hybridization for the detection of eb V-encoded small RNAs(ebe Rs) and eb V latent proteins(LMP1 and LMP2 A) were detected by *** The analysis showed that eb V-associated gastric carcinomas(eb Va GC) represents 8.4%(15/179) of all GC cases, with a significant differential distribution among histological types(P < 0.001): 100%(3/3) of medullary carcinomas, 100%(1/1) of adenosquamous carcinoma, 8.7%(8/92) of tubular adenocarcinomas, 8.0%(2/25) of mixed carcinomas and 2%(1/51) in poorly cohesive carcinomas. The analysis revealed a higher predominance of eb Va GC in the upper third and middle(cardia, fundus and body) of the stomach(P = 0.041), a significant lower number of regional lymph nodes invasion(P = 0.025) and a tendency for better prognosis(P = 0.222). eb V latent protein expression revealed that all eb Va GC cases were LMP1-negative, nevertheless 6 cases(40%) expressed LPM2 A, which reveals that these cases show a distinct eb V-Latency profile(latency II-like).CONCLUSION eb Va GC represents 8.4% of all GC in the North Region of Portugal. The eb V-infected patients have specific clinic-pathological features that should be further explored to develop new strategies of management and treatment.

Radar Absorbing Materials(RAM)are a class of composites that can attenuate incident electromagnetic waves to avoid radar *** carbon allotropes that have the potential to be used as RAM are either carbon nano-tubes(CNTs),graphene,carbon black(CB)and ultimately,sustainable porous carbon(SPC).Here,black wattle bark waste(following tannin extraction)was used as a sustainable source to produce SPC made from biomass *** was characterized and used as afiller for a silicone rubber matrix to produce aflexible *** elec-tromagnetic performance of this composite was compared with composites made with commercial CB and CNT through reflection loss(RL),where-10 dB is equivalent to 90%of *** composites were evaluated in single-layer,double-layer,and as radar absorbing structures(RAS)with the aim of improving their effective absorption bandwidth(EAB)performances and a reduction in *** CNT composite presented a RL of-26.85 dB at 10.89 GHz and an EAB of 2.6 GHz with a 1.9 mm thickness,while the double-layer structures using CNT and SPC provided a RL of-19.74 dB at 10.75 GHz and an EAB of 2.51 ***,the double-layer structures are~42%cheaper than the composite using only CNT since less material is ***,the largest EAB was achieved with a RAS using SPC,reaching~2.8 GHz and a RL of-49.09 dB at 10.4 ***,SPC made of black wattle bark waste can be a competitive,alternative material for use as RAM and RAS since it is cheaper,sustainable,and suitable for daily life uses such as absorbers for anechoic chambers,sensors,and elec-tromagnetic interference shields for electronics,wallets,vehicles,and others.
