oI 630.0 nm airglow observations,from a new observatory at Bom Jesus de Lapa,were used to study the interaction between EPBs(Equatorial Plasma Bubbles)and the MSTID(Medium-Scale Traveling Ionospheric Disturbance)over the Northeast region in *** the night of September 16 to 17,2020,an EPB was observed propagating eastward,in an apparent fossil stage,until it interacted with a dark band electrified MSTID(e MSTID).After the interaction,four EPBs merged,followed by an abrupt southward development and *** of the data suggests that an eastward polarization electric field,induced by the dark band e MSTID,forced the EPB into an upward drift,growing latitudinally along the magnetic field lines and then bifurcating.

In this paper, data analysis and modeling of gamma ray tomography taken into account spatial resolution and source of errors and the attenuation coefficient measurement in row data from tomography process are presented. The results showed that this method is simple, effective and should be prior to any data treatment for opaque vessel reactor and by reconstruction algorithm in process imaging.

Ureteral stents play a fundamental role in modern time urology. However, following the deployment, stent-related symptoms are frequent and affect patient health and quality of life. Using biodegradable metals as ureteral stent materials have emerged as a promising strategy, mainly due to the improved radial force and slower degradation rate expected. Therefore, this study aimed to characterize different biodegradable metals in urinary tract environment to understand their propensity for future utilization as base materials for ureteral stents. The corrosion of 5 Mg alloys - AZ31, Mg-1Zn, Mg-1Y, pure Mg, and Mg-4Ag - under simulated urinary tract conditions was accessed. The corrosion layer of the different alloys presented common elements, such as Mg(oH)_(2), Mgo, and phosphate-containing products, but slight variations in their chemical compositions were detected. The corrosion rate of the different metals varied, which was expected given the differences in the corrosion layers. on top of this, the findings of this study highlighted the significant differences in the samples' corrosion and corrosion layers when in stagnant and flowing conditions. With the results of this study, we concluded that Mg-1Zn and Mg-4Ag presented a higher propensity for localized corrosion, probably due to a less protective corrosion layer;Mg-4Ag corroded faster than all the other four alloys,and Mg-1Y stood out due to its distinct corrosion pattern, that showed to be more homogeneous than all the other four samples, making this one more attractive for the future studies on biodegradable metals.

Purpose: The present study aimed to investigate the reliability of the non-exhaustive double effort(NEde) test in running exercise and its associations with the ventilatory thresholds(VT_1 and VT_2) and the maximal lactate steady state(MLSS).Methods: Ten healthy male adults(age: 23 ± 4 years, height: 176.6 ± 6.4 cm, body mass: 76.6 ± 10.7 kg) performed 4 procedures:(1) a ramp test for VT_1 and VT_2 determinations measured by ratio of expired ventilation to o_2 uptake(VE/Vo_2) and expired ventilation to Co_2 output(VE/VCo_2) equivalents, respectively;(2) the NEde test measured by blood lactate concentration(NEde_(LAC)) and heart rate responses(NEde_(HR));(3) a retest of NEde for reliability analysis; and(4) continuous efforts to determine the MLSS intensity. The NEde test consisted of4 sessions at different running intensities. Each session was characterized by double efforts at the same running velocity(E1 and E2, 180 s), separated by a passive recovery period(90 s rest). LAC and HR values after E1 and E2(in 4 sessions) were used to estimate the intensity equivalent to"null delta" by linear fit. This parameter represents, theoretically, the intensity equivalent to maximal aerobic ***: The intraclass correlation coefficient indicated significant reliability for NEde_(LAC)(0.93) and NEde_(HR)(0.79)(both p orrelations, no differences, and strong agreement with the intensities predicted by NEde_(LAC)(10.1 ± 1.9 km/h) and NEde_(HR)(9.8 ± 2.0 km/h) to VT_1(10.2 ± 1.1 km/h). In addition, despite significantly lower MLSS intensity(12.2 ± 1.2 km/h), NEde_(LAC) and NEde_(HR) intensities were highly correlated with this parameter(0.90 and 0.88, respectively).Conclusion: The NEde test applied to running exercise is reliable and estimates the VT_1 intensity. Additionally, NEde intensities were lower but still correlated with VT_2 and MLSS.

objective:To study the behavioral effects of semi purified fraction prepared from the stem bark of Erythrina velutina on ***:Three chloroformic fractions(CA) at 50 or 100 mg/kg(CA1,CA2 and CA3) were tested in two behavioral tests;plus maze and open ***:In the plus maze test,it was observed a decrease in the number of entries in the closed arms(NECA) CA2 at both doses as compared to the control *** the open field test,CA2 and CA3 fractions decreased the number of squares crossed and the time of permanence on the bar,increased the number of falls at both doses in the rota rod *** CA2 fraction decreased the NECA,but this data did not characterize an anxiolytic *** was the consequence from decrease of locomotor activity(LA) observed in the open field test,that the decrease of LA and rearing,the number of falls and the decrease in time of permanence on the bar in rota rod test were observed after treatment with CA2 and CA3 at both doses,suggesting sedative ***:The present work demonstrated that CA2 and CA3 fractions have impairing effect on LA and motor coordination.

In this paper, the evaluation of a preliminary design of a PGAA （prompt gamma activation analysis） facility based on Monte Carlo simulations is presented and discussed. The implementation of the PGAA method at the CDTN （nuclear technology development centre） would increase the applications of the TRIGA reactor. The preliminary design is based on a quasi vertical hollow cylinder （called neutron extractor） in the reactor pool to extract the neutron flux. This study evaluates the neutron flux in the upper position of the cylinder in the suggested position of the samples to be analyzed by the PGAA. The calculations of the radioactive capture reaction rates and of the detection limits for some isotopes were performed. Through all these calculations, the feasibility of the application of the PGAA method at the IPR-R1 installations was evaluated. According to the obtained results, it can be concluded that is possible to apply the PGAA method at the IPR-R1 reactor, even with its design restrictions.

Aim: To evaluate data related to mental work functioning of workers with cancer diagnosis in radiotherapy in a private service in the city of Campinas, State of São Paulo, Brazil. Method: It consists in a cross-sectional, observational and analytical study with comparison between cancer patients and healthy people, using the Brazilian version of the Work Role Functioning Questionnaire (WRFQ-Br). descriptive and statistical analysis is performed by the Mann-Whitney test. Results: There was a significant difference between the groups in the evaluation of mental demand;however, the population diagnosed with malignant neoplasm submitted to radiotherapy had unexpected higher scores, reflecting lower mental exigency. Conclusions: The observed context may occur due to extensive support of family, government and interdisciplinary team of health care for individuals diagnosed with cancer. This data provide support for new research studies related to the importance of the work to promote mental health, considering aspects related to social interaction and productivity as the support system members. The importance of disseminating these results and limitation is based in the necessity of investments to improve research and actions to promote the permanence and early return to work for cancer survivors in Brazil and Latin America.

Job and housework during radiotherapy: Comparisons between leaving out activities and disease treatment

Background: Researches about work limitations related to cancer treatment and survival are recent. This study describes the characteristics of patients who keep their work and house work activities during radiotherapy, and comparison between some disease data and leaving out those activities. Methods: Data were collected from medical records of patients admitted in a Brazilian Radiotherapy Private Health Service. descriptive statistical analysis was performed, as hypotheses texts, Chi-square and Fisher’s exact test. Results: Data of 111 individuals were presented;being 65.77% of workers of paid activities and 34.34% of careers of home. Between employees, 50.7% kept their job activities, and 92.1% between house workers. The association between absence from work activities and tumor type (primary or metastasis) and between absence and KPS (p observed. Discussion: It is observed that breast, brain and lung tumors significantly affect employees’ performance, causing the withdrawal of workers from their activities. Data from the literature review clearly demonstrated the importance of work activities in social support of the worker, but his overall performance may be impaired. Implications for cancer survivors: The study indicates the need for assessment of the individual, work or activity environment and required as well as the continuity research aiming at the development and validation of evaluation tools such as questionnaires or scales.
