The aim of this work was to estimate the adaptability and stability of grain yield per hectare and percentage of crude protein of maize grains combined in an index, and to establish a multicharacter selection through mixed models based on an objective character and 15 auxiliary traits. The trials were conducted in the 2013/2014 agricultural year in four growing environments of the Rio Grande do Sul, BR state. The experimental design was randomized blocks arranged in a factorial scheme, being four growing sites × 15 single cross maize hybrids, arranged in three repetitions. The genotypic index, composed by the grain yield and the crude protein percentage in the grains, is the best selection strategy to achieve maize superior genotypes. The multivariate genotypes selection, considering grain yield and crude protein, is efficient. The genotypes FORMULA TL®, AS1656PRO®, P30F53Hx®, LG6304YG®and 30F53 are more adapted and stable for grain yield and percentage of crude protein, in the conditions of this study. The mixed models were efficient to employ the multicharacter selection and to contribute for maize genetic breeding.

Rice (Oryza sativa L.) presents a strategic role in social and economic levels. The aim of this study was to elucidate the presence of genetic variability for the genus Oryza, and the possibility of using genotypes with wild characteristics in rice breeding programs. The Oryza genus shows great genetic variability through wild genotypes available in the most varied environments around the world. The negative effects imposed by abiotic stresses such as flood, salinity, low temperatures, water deficiency and high temperatures may be minimized by the efficient identification of a genetic variability source from the Oryza genus. Among the main wild species presented by the Oryza genus, Oryza glumaepatula stands out being an active source of germplasm. The occurrence and preservation of genetic variability of Oryza genus is indispensable to obtain new rice genotypes, to guarantee food security for the human population, as well as to develop genotypes that adapt to climatic changes and natural adversities.

Introduction: Family planning is a practice that serves in what way to avoid poverty and improve social indicators. Objective: To present scientific evidence on Family Planning in the most complete dimension possible. Methodology: The research was carried out in electronic databases MEDLINE, LILACS, INDEX PSICOLOGY, GOOGLE ACADEMIC, CVSP, LIS, limited to the last 23 years. Those addressed pre-defined aspects of interest to the study proposal were selected planning, family, social aspect, conception, contraception, disease, health and the new approaches to the problem. For the present study in the end 38 articles were selected and 13 more used for discussion. Results: Family planning is one of the best ways to grow a nation and avoid perpetuating poverty in the population, thus improving social indicators.

Breast cancer is considered one of the most common cancers among women, accounting for 25% - 29% of new cases worldwide each year. The diagnosis, living with the disease, as well as the different treatments can have important impacts on the Psychological and mental health of patients. Objective: To investigate the psychological aspects that women with breast cancer develop or may develop. Methodology: A systematic review using the PRISMA methodology was used. Results: 11 articles that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria were analysed. The largest flow of publications in relation to the effects of the patient with cancer, were carried out between the years 2000 and 2023. Conclusions: Psychological disorders (depression, anxiety, stress) are part of the lives of women diagnosed with breast cancer, and their prevalence varies from one woman to another.

Water pollution caused by heavy metals ions has been gaining attention in recent years,increasing the interest in the development of methodologies for their efficient removal focusing on the adsorption process for these *** current challenge faced by adsorption processes is the adequate adsorbent immobilization for removal and ***,the present work aimed at producing a faujasite zeolite nanocomposite decorated with cobalt ferrite nanoparticles for Pb^2+ions adsorption in an aqueous medium improving magnetic removal and *** a result,a high surface area(434.4 m^2·g^-1)for the nanocomposite and an 18.93 emu·g^-1 saturation magnetization value were obtained,indicating magnetic removal in a promising material for adsorption *** nanocomposite regeneration capacity evaluated by magnetic recovery after 24 h suspension presented a high Pb^2+ion adsorptive capacity(98.4%)in the first *** 98%of the Pb^2+ions were adsorbed in the second *** this way,the synthesized faujasite:cobalt ferrite nanocomposite reveals itself as a promising alternative in adsorption processes,aiming at a synergic effect of FAU zeolite high adsorptive activity and the cobalt ferrite nanoparticles magnetic activity,allowing for adsorbent recovery from the aqueous medium via magnetic force and successive adsorptive cycles.

Background： Leptin has a strong relation to important traits in animal production, such as carcass composition,feed intake, and reproduction. It is mainly produced by adipose cells and acts predominantly in the *** this study, circulating leptin and its gene expression in muscle were evaluated in two groups of young Nellore bulls with divergent feed efficiency. Individual dry matter intake（DMI） and average daily gain（ADG） of 98 Nellore bulls were evaluated in feedlot for 70 d to determinate the residual feed intake（RFI） and select 20 animals for the high feed efficient（LRFI） and 20 for the low feed efficient（HRFI） groups. Blood samples were collected on d 56 and at slaughter（80 d） to determine circulating plasma leptin. Samples of Longissimus dorsi were taken at slaughter for leptin gene expression ***： DMI and RFI were different between groups and LRFI animals showed less back fat and rump fat thickness,as well as less pelvic and kidney fat weight. Circulating leptin increased over time in all animals. Plasma leptin was greater in LRFI on 56 d and at slaughter（P = 0.0049）. Gene expression of leptin were greater in LRFI animals（P = 0.0022） in accordance with the plasma levels. The animals of the LRFI group were leaner, ate less, and had more circulating leptin and its gene ***： These findings demonstrated that leptin plays its physiological role in young Nellore bulls, probably controlling food intake because feed efficient animals have more leptin and lower residual feed intake.

The B1 dam of Co rrego do Feij～ao Mine, owned by Vale, S.A. mining company and located on the FerroCarv～ao stream, collapsed and injected 2.8 Mm3of clayey, silty, and sandy iron-and manganese-rich tailings into the Paraopeba River(Minas Gerais state, Brazil). The accident occurred on 25 January2019 and the tailings have been co-transported with coarser natural sediment since then, being partly trapped in the Igarape Weir reservoir located on the Paraopeba River nearly 45 km downstream the injection point. The general purpose of the current study was to model suspended sediment transport in the vicinity of the Igarape Weir aiming to assess the concomitant barrier effect imposed by this ***, the spatial distributions of suspended clay, silt, and very fine-grained sand fractions(CSS) of sediment were mapped around the Igarape Weir under low-flow(16 m3/s) and high-flow(5 to 10,000years return period stream discharge; 699—2,699 m3/s) regimes, using RiverFlow2D as the modelling tool. The concentrations of the various grain materials in the upstream and downstream sectors were quantified linking the barrier effect to concentration reductions in the direction of stream flow. It was also a study goal to calculate differences of iron and manganese concentrations in the sediment + tailings mixtures along the Paraopeba River. The study results showed reductions in the CSS between 6.6% and18%, from upstream to downstream of the Igarape Weir, related with backwater effects, free and submerged hydraulic jumps, bank sedimentation in periods of high flow, and streambed sedimentation controlled by channel sinuosity and tailings density. These reductions were accompanied by drops in the concentrations of iron and manganese present in the clay and silt fractions, which varied between 6% and42% under low flows and between 16% and 44% under high flows. Diagnosis of Boron Deficiency in Green Dwarf Coconut Palm

The diagnosis of boron deficiency in coconut palms has been hampered by lack of information about its distribution in the plant. Two experiments were conducted, one in a greenhouse to induce boron deficiency in dwarf green coconut palms, and other in the field, in which the plants received doses of boric acid, B(OH)3. The objective was to verify symptoms of boron deficiency and boron content variation in canopy, leaves and folioles (or leaflets). Boron deficient plants led leaves and folioles to become deformed. The deficient and sufficient contents of boron varied significantly in the canopy, but did not vary in leaves. The boron content increased significantly from bottom to the apex of the folioles in both treatments. To survey the level of boron in the coconut palm, the ideal is, using samples taken from the youngest leaf, to calculate the relation between the boron content in the apex of the foliole and the content in the center or in the folioles bottom, with minimum values 2.2 or 2.7, respectively.

Role of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in Fibromyalgia: A Systematic Review

A literature search of articles from 2002-2019 was performed using Medline, Embase, Cochrane, LILACS, IBECS, CRD, and Epistemonikos databases, to analyze the effects of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in the treatment of fibromyalgia. Twenty-seven articles were selected in which CBT was performed exclusively by specialist physicians, associated or not with conventional pharmacological treatment and/or physical exercise. In most articles, CBT worked with self-knowledge and cognitive restructuring, attempting to reduce pain perception, and it showed a general improvement in daily activities by decreasing patient’s limitations, such as morning stiffness. The literature showed significant correlations of CBT in pain processing over time. When CBT was compared to conventional pharmacological therapy, a certain superiority of CBT could be observed concerning the quality of life, catastrophizing, and acceptance of pain. However, when they were simultaneously applied, this improvement in quality of life was not observed.
