Geometrical dimensionality plays a fundamentally important role in the topological effects arising in discrete *** direct experiments are limited by three spatial dimensions,the research topic of synthetic dimensions implemented by the frequency degree of freedom in photonics is rapidly *** manipulation of light in these artificial lattices is typically realized through electro-optic modulation;yet,their operating bandwidth imposes practical constraints on the range of interactions between different frequency *** we propose and experimentally realize all-optical synthetic dimensions involving specially tailored simultaneous short-and long-range interactions between discrete spectral lines mediated by frequency conversion in a nonlinear *** realize triangular chiral-tube lattices in three-dimensional space and explore their four-dimensional *** implement a synthetic gauge field with nonzero magnetic flux and observe the associated multidimensional dynamics of frequency combs,all within one physical spatial *** anticipate that our method will provide a new means for the fundamental study of high-dimensional physics and act as an important step towards using topological effects in optical devices operating in the time and frequency domains.

squeezed light is a critical resource in quantum sensing and information processing. Due to the inherently weak optical nonlinearity and limited interaction volume, considerable pump power is typically needed to obtain efficient interactions to generate squeezed light in bulk crystals. Integrated photonics offers an elegant way to increase the nonlinearity by confining light strictly inside the waveguide. For the construction of large-scale quantum systems performing many-photon operations, it is essential to integrate various functional modules on a chip. However, fabrication imperfections and transmission cross talk may add unwanted diffraction and coupling to other photonic elements, reducing the quality of squeezing. Here, by introducing the topological phase, we experimentally demonstrate the topologically protected nonlinear process of four-wave mixing, enabling the generation of squeezed light on a silica chip. We measure the cross-correlations at different evolution distances for various topological sites and verify the nonclassical features with high fidelity. The squeezing parameters are measured to certify the protection of cavity-free, strongly squeezed states. The demonstration of topological protection for squeezed light on a chip brings new opportunities for quantum integrated photonics,opening novel approaches for the design of advanced multi-photon circuits.

Integrated photonics is a leading platform for quantum technologies including nonclassical state generation1–4,demonstration of quantum computational complexity5 and secure quantum *** photonic circuits grow in complexity,full quantum tomography becomes impractical,and therefore an efficient method for their characterization7,8 is *** we propose and demonstrate a fast,reliable method for reconstructing the two-photon state produced by an arbitrary quadratically nonlinear optical *** establishing a rigorous correspondence between the generated quantum state and classical sum-frequency generation measurements from laser light,we overcome the limitations of previous approaches for lossy multimode devices9,*** applied this protocol to a multi-channel nonlinear waveguide network and measured a 99.28±0.31%fidelity between classical and quantum *** technique enables fast and precise evaluation of nonlinear quantum photonic networks,a crucial step towards complex,largescale,device production.

Two-dimensional transition-metal dichalcogenides(TMDCs)with intrinsically broken crystal inversion symmetry and large secondorder nonlinear responses have shown great promise for future nonlinear light ***,the sub-nanometer monolayer thickness of such materials limits the length of their nonlinear interaction with ***,we experimentally demonstrate the enhancement of the second-harmonic generation from monolayer Mose_(2) by its integration onto a 220-nm-thick silicon *** on-chip integration allows for a marked increase in the interaction length between the Mose_(2) and the waveguide mode,further enabling phase matching of the nonlinear *** demonstrated TMDC–silicon photonic hybrid integration opens the door to second-order nonlinear effects within the silicon photonic platform,including efficient frequency conversion,parametric amplification and the generation of entangled photon pairs.

Alzheimer’s disease(AD)is the most common neurodegenerative disorder characterized by slow and progressive decline of cognitive and memory *** only approximately 5%of the cases,AD is familial,as often predisposed by genetic mutations(Hoogmartens et al.,2021),while sporadic AD accounts for approximately 95%of the *** amyloid cascade hypothesis is one of the fundamental hypotheses put out to explain AD pathogenesis as dysregulated homeostasis of amyloid-β(Aβ)peptides that leads to the accumulation of Aβplaques in the parenchyma,an anatomical hallmark of AD.

In this paper,we present a new method for finding a fixed local-optimal policy for computing the customer lifetime *** method is developed for a class of ergodic controllable finite Markov *** propose an approach based on a non-converging state-value function that fluctuates（increases and decreases） between states of the dynamic *** prove that it is possible to represent that function in a recursive format using a one-step-ahead fixed-optimal ***,we provide an analytical formula for the numerical realization of the fixed local-optimal *** also present a second approach based on linear programming,to solve the same problem,that implement the c-variable method for making the problem computationally *** the end,we show that these two approaches are related：after a finite number of iterations our proposed approach converges to same result as the linear programming *** also present a non-traditional approach for ergodicity *** validity of the proposed methods is successfully demonstrated theoretically and,by simulated credit-card marketing experiments computing the customer lifetime value for both an optimization and a game theory approach.

We present a semiempirical analytical model for the static polarizability of electronically excited atoms and molecules,which requires very few readily accessible input data,including the ground-state polarizability,elemental composition,ionization potential,and spin multiplicities of excited and ground *** very simple model formulated in a semiclassical framework is based on a number of observed trends in polarizability of electronically excited *** adjust the model,both accurate theoretical predictions and reliable measurements previously reported elsewhere for a broad range of multielectron species in the gas phase are *** some representative compounds of general concern that have not yet attracted sufficient research interest,the results of our multireference second-order perturbation theory calculations are additionally *** show that the model we developed has reasonable(given the considerable uncertainties in the reference data)accuracy in predicting the static polarizability of electronically excited species of arbitrary size and excitation *** findings can be useful for many applications,where there is a need for inexpensive and quick assessments of the static gas-phase polarizability of excited electronic states,in particular,when building the complex nonequilibrium kinetic models to describe the observed optical refractivity(dielectric permittivity)of nonthermal reacting gas flows.

A concise analytical model for the static dipole polarizability of ionized atoms and molecules is created for the first *** input,it requires,alongside the polarizability of neutral counterpart of a given ion,only the charge and elemental *** physically motivated semiempirical model is based on a number of established regularities in polarizability of charged monatomic and polyatomic *** order to adjust it,the results of quantum chemistry calculations and gas-phase measurements available for a broad range of ionized multielectron species are *** counteract the appreciable bias in the literature data toward polarizability of monoatomic ions,for some molecular ions of general concern the results of the authors'own density functional theory calculations are additionally invoked.A total of 541 data points are used to optimize the *** is demonstrated that the model we suggested has reasonable(given the substantial uncertainties of the reference data)accuracy in predicting the static isotropic polarizability of arbitrarily charged ions of any size and atomic *** resulting polarizability estimates are found to achieve a coefficient of determination of 0.93 for the assembled data *** created analytic tool is universally applicable and might be advantageous for some applications where there is an urgent need for rapid low-cost evaluation of the static gas-phase polarizability of ionized atoms and *** is especially relevant to constructing the complex models of nonequilibrium chemical kinetics aimed at precisely describing the observable refractive index(dielectric permittivity)of plasma *** data sets that support the findings of this study are openly available in science Data Bank at https://***/10.57760/sciencedb.07526.
