The severity of septic arthritis of the hand and the prospects for restoration of joint function are determined by a complex of factors. Among them, the leading role belongs to local changes in tissue structures. This includes the destruction of articular cartilage and bone tissue with the development of osteomyelitis, the involvement of paraarticular soft tissues in the purulent process, and the destruction of the flexor/extensor tendons of the fingers. The currently missing specialized classification of septic arthritis could help in systematizing the diseases, determining treatment tactics, and predicting the results of *** classification of septic arthritis of the hand proposed for discussion is based on the following principle: Joint-Wound-Tendon(Jx Wx Tx);Jx characterizes damage to the osteochondral structures of the joint, Wx is the presence of paraarticular purulent wounds or fistulas, and Tx is destruction of the flexor/extensor tendons of the finger. The classification of the diagnosis makes it possible to assess the nature and severity of damage to the structures of the joint and may also be useful when comparing the results of treatment of septic arthritis of the hand.

Effects of site preparation methods on soil physical properties and outplanting success of coniferous seedlings in boreal forests

This study assessed the effect of patch scarification and mounding on the physical properties of the root layer and the success of tree planting in various types of *** study was conducted on 12 forest sites in taiga forests of the European part of Russia.A total of 54 plots were set up to assess seedling survival;root collar diameter,height,and heigh increment were measured for 240 seedlings to assess *** the rooting layer,240 soil samples were taken to determine physical *** study showed that soil treatment methods had no effect on bulk density and total porosity in Cladina ***,reduced soil moisture was noted,particularly in mounds,resulting in increased *** Myrtillus sites,there were increased bulk density,reduced soil moisture,and total porosity in the *** treatment in Polytrichum sites resulted in reduced soil moisture and increased aeration *** the Myrtillus and Polytrichum sites,patch scarification had no effects on physical *** Polytrichum sites,survival rates,heights,and heigh increments of bareroot Norway spruce seedlings in mounds were higher than in patches;however,the same did not apply to *** Cladina and Myrtillus sites,there was no difference in growth for bareroot and containerised seedlings with different soil *** conditions and soil types should be considered when applying different soil treatment methods to ensure high survival rates and successful seedling growth.

A statistical study of Magnetic Flux Emergence in solar Active Regions Prior to strongest Flares

Using the data on magnetic field maps and continuum intensity for solar Cycles 23 and 24,we explored 100 active regions(ARs)that produced M5.0 or stronger *** focus on the presence/absence of the emergence of magnetic flux in these ARs 2-3 days before the strong flare *** found that 29 ARs in the sample emerged monotonically amidst quiet-sun.A major emergence of a new magnetic flux within a pre-existing AR yielding the formation of a complex flare-productive configuration was observed in another 24 *** 30 ARs,an insignificant(in terms of the total magnetic flux of pre-existing AR)emergence of a new magnetic flux within the pre-existing magnetic configuration was observed;for some of them the emergence resulted in a formation of a configuration with a small δ-sunspot;11 out of 100 ARs exhibited no signatures of magnetic flux emergence during the entire interval of *** six cases the emergence was in progress when the AR appeared on the Eastern limb,so that the classification and timing of emergence were not *** conclude that the recent flux emergence is not a necessary and/or sufficient condition for strong flaring of an *** flux emergence rate of flare-productive ARs analyzed here was compared with that of flare-quiet ARs analyzed in our previous *** revealed that the flare-productive ARs tend to display faster emergence than the flare-quiet ones do.

The article describes ethylene polymerization reactions with transition metal catalysts based on complexes of CoCl_(2) and FeCl_(2) with an N,N,N-tridentate ligand 2,6-bis[1-(2,6-dimethylphenylimino)ethyl]pyridine. The complexes are converted into polymerization catalysts by reacting them either with polymethylalumoxane (MAO) or with a combination of Al(C2H5)2Cl and Mg(C4H9)2 at an [Al]:[Mg] ratio of ~3. Both MAO-activated complexes readily polymerize ethylene at 35 ℃ with the formation of linear, low molecular weight polymers with a narrow molecular weight distribution. The same complexes, when activated with the Al(C2H5)2Cl-Mg(C4H9)2 combination, form multi-center catalysts and generate polyethylenes with a broad molecular weight distribution.

We report on the novel heterometallic quaternary selenide EuCeCuse3,the fabrication of which has been a challenge until this *** structure of the reported selenide was elucidated from the powder X-ray diffraction data,which revealed the formation of EuCeCuse3with excellent yield(96.7%)accompanied with a minor fraction of Cese2(3.3%),and was best solved in orthorhombic space group Pnma with the BaLaCus3structural ***,the crystal structure of the title compound completes the row of the heterometallic quaternary selenides EuRECuse3(RE=La,Pr,Nd,sm,Eu,Gd,Tb,Dy,Ho,Er,Tm,Yb,Lu,Y),of which the cerium-based derivative exclusively belongs to the BaLaCus3structural *** distortion of the Cuse4polyhedron was compared for the whole series of EuRECuse3compounds using theτ4-descriptor for four coordinated ions,which revealed the highest degree of distortion for the Ce3+-containing selenide,followed by the La3+-based ***,the crystallographic and geometrical parameters of the reported selenide were discussed in comparison to the Ce3+-based sulfides srCeCus3and *** initio calculations of the crystal structure,a phonon spectrum and elastic constants for the crystal of EuCeCuse3were also *** types and wavenumbers of fundame ntal modes were determined and the involvement of ions participating in the phonon modes was *** experimental IR spectrum of the reported selenide was interpreted and found to be in agreement with the calculated *** experimental direct band gap of EuCeCuse3was measured to be 1.36 eV that is consistent with the concept of its origin due to interband transitions between orbitals emerging mainly from 4f(valence band)and 5d(conduction band)levels of the Eu2+*** dependence of the Young’s modulus on the direction demonstrates the anisotropy of the elastic properties,while the Vickers hardness for EuCeCuse3was calculated to be 5.2 ***,the title compound is paramagnetic above 4 K.

screen sensors are the most commonly used human-machine interfaces in our everyday life,which have been extensively applied in personal electronics like *** screen sensors are attracting growing interest due to their distinct advantages of high interaction freedom,comfortability,and hand ***,the material compositions of current touchless screen sensors are rigid and fragile,hardly meeting the needs of wearable and stretchable on-skin electronics ***,these touchless screen sensors are also restricted by high power consumption,limited gesture types of recognition,and the requirement of light ***,we report a stretchable on-skin touchless screen sensor(OTss)enabled by an ionic hydrogel-based triboelectric nanogenerator(TENG).Compared with current touchless screen sensors,the OTss is stretchable,self-powered,and competent to recognize diverse gestures by making use of charges naturally carried on fingers without the need of sufficient light *** on-skin noncontact screen operating system is further demonstrated on the basis of the OTss,which could unlock a cellphone interface in touchless operation mode on the human *** work for the first time introduces the on-skin touchless concept to screen sensors and offers a direction to develop new-generation screen sensors for future cellphones and personal electronics.
